US: Virginia federal judge to rule on whether ObamaCare violates the Constitution. The question is: Can the fed require citizens to buy commercial insurance? If this judge says no, the issue will go to higher courts for review. [Even if this provision is declared unconstitutional, the rest of ObamaCare (95% of it) will remain. This challenge is good, but far short of what is needed. The whole bill should be repealed.]

Irish bonds are severely rated down and Anglo Irish Bank now is ‘junk’ as a result of bailout discussions. Senior bondholders may be required to cover some of the losses; junior bondholders already have lost 80% to 95% of their loans. Yahoo 2010 Nov 26 (Cached)
US nuclear powered aircraft carrier is offshore in the Yellow Sea to participate in military drills with South Korea next week, apparently in response to the recent shelling of a South Korean island by North Korea. China sees the carrier’s presence as a threat to her security. [What will be her response? Is she being goaded into an attack? If so, would this be an excuse for U.S. to put trade embargo on import of Chinese goods – and would that be retaliation against China’s decision (with Russia) to move away from trading in U.S. dollars? We shall see.] Yahoo Nov 26 (Cached)
Germany rejects European Commission’s proposal to double EU bailout funds, currently at $588 billion. A condition of the EU plan is that the IMF would lend 1/3 of the total. Germany objects because it could trigger lack of public confidence in the solvency of Spain and Portugal causing them not to be able to continue selling their bonds. [Public confidence often is not based on reality. The reality is that these governments are insolvent and cannot pay off their bonds even if they sell them unless they are paid off with devalued currency, which is what they prefer to do. Remember, also, that U.S. taxpayers are on the hook for the biggest chunk of loans from the IMF.]

IMF Loans come with strings attached. Resources are used to enrich lending institutions and multi-national corporations, not the common man. YouTube posted 2010 Nov 25
US: Former Republican Majority House leader Tom DeLay is convicted of money laundering and conspiracy. He funneled $190,000 in corporate donations through the Republican National Committee to several candidates. Texas law prohibits corporate money from going directly to candidates. He awaits sentencing and could get a life sentence. Observers expect a short prison term or probation. Yahoo 2010 Nov 25 (Cached)
China and Russia announce they will trade with each other in their own currencies (yuans and rubles). This is a blow to the dollar that, until now, has been the international trading currency. The dollar has been accepted by other countries in spite of its massive increase in quantity because oil was traded in dollars, and everyone needs oil. Now that Russia, the #2 exporter of oil, will no longer accept dollars, other nations will lose much of their incentive to acquire them. [This may be the first falling domino leading to the end of the dollar as a measure of purchasing power, abroad and in the U.S. Anyone caught with life saving in dollars or in investments denominated in dollars will be wiped out.]

US: Nine states have shown an interest in Virginia’s “Repeal Amendment” that would allow 2/3 of the states to repeal an act of Congress. [Nullification is a more direct way to limit the federal government because it can be done now without amending the Constitution, which is a long and arduous process. Nullification has already worked in the past. Why pursue an untried measure with a high probability of failure – unless failure is the real objective? Could this be a means of letting people blow off steam without really changing anything? Politicians are expert at that.] Daily Caller 2010 Nov 24 (Cached)
South Korea fires on North Korea and says it was an accident. North Korea launches retaliation. Media in the West says North Korea Attacked South Korea. [What does it mean? We think it is too early to tell, but we should be alert to the possibility of hidden agendas. This analysis suggests that the U.S. is covertly involved, but the motive is not clear. We are not ready to endorse this analysis but think you may find it interesting.]

US: Head of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano says security searches next will be done for trains, boats, and metro lines. [Road travel will be next. Surely by now everyone must know that security against terrorism is primarily an excuse for setting up a system to monitor the movement of all citizens.]

Mad scientists develop a pill to erase memories by removing proteins from the brain. They say they are only using it on mice for now, but the intended use is on humans. [They already are spinning this as a wonderful aid to help people forget bad memories, but how much memory could be erased? Will it effect human self identity, which is based in memory? Could it be used against a person’s will? If it can be misused or abused, it will be.] Daily Mail 2010 Nov 23 (Cached)
Study shows half of Americans will have diabetes or pre-diabetes by 2020. The report recommends “lifestyle intervention” by way of public-health regulations, medication, and ‘compliance’ and using Public/Private Partnerships (government coupling with business) to apply the interventions. [The option of voluntary action based on education and self-interest is not considered. Under collectivism, it always is assumed that state-sponsored coercion is required.] MedicalNewsToday 2010 Nov 23 (Cached)

Nobel Prize winning climate scientist breaks away from UN colleagues; says CO2 change does not cause temperature change, but is the result of it. In other words, temperature change comes first, then CO2 levels change. So the whole idea of trying to control CO2 in order to control climate change is bunk. CFP 2010 Nov 22 (Cached)
Al Gore admits that his support for corn-based ethanol was a mistake, leading to higher food prices while contributing nothing to energy needs. He admitted that, at the time, he believed ethanol subsidies and tax breaks would strengthen his presidential campaign. Tom Nelson Blog 2010 Nov 22 (Cached)
Russia: Global-warming myth-makers have created another scare scenario just in time for the upcoming negotiations for a UN climate treaty. The scare is that methane seeping out from Siberian permafrost (as it has for 10,000 years) may increase due to global warming. [Expect more hot air than methane in the days ahead.] Yahoo 2010 Nov 21 (Cached)
Detroit airport TSA workers disconnected a man’s urostomy bag (from cancer surgery) in a pat-down. He warned them it would rip the tube out, and he was left covered in urine. [Humiliation of travelers in the name of ‘safety’ continues.] Raw Story 2010 Nov 20 (Cached)
