Suggestions from Tom Woods:

Ad #2: The bio ad.  This cannot be an ad telling everyone he’s a doctor, he knew Ronald Reagan, etc.  That won’t jolt anyone.  How about that he’s never, in 24 years in Congress, even once voted to raise taxes?  That he votes down everything — everything — that violates the Constitution?  Compile as many extraordinary things about Dr. Paul as can fit into the ad.  DO NOT say he opposes “wasteful government spending.”  This is DC-speak.  Avoid DC-speak.  Every candidate is against wasteful government spending.  Take off the gloves and show the country who Ron Paul is.

Ad #3: “He was right.”  Other candidates laughed in 2007 when Ron Paul predicted a financial crisis.  They said the economy was fine.  It wasn’t.  Only Ron Paul had the knowledge and the courage to stand up against the conventional wisdom and warn us about what was coming.  At this critical moment, we can’t afford a nominee who is oblivious to what’s really happening to the U.S. economy.  We need the one candidate who predicted the crisis and knows the solution.  Ron Paul.

Ad #4: “Standing alone.” Ever been frustrated with Congress?  Ever wanted to take a stand against the whole corrupt bunch?  One candidate has.  One candidate has stood up to Congress all alone more than any other congressman.  [Meanwhile, the figure “434-1” is superimposed over scenes of Congress.] One candidate has stood up to Congress more than all other congressmen put together. Ron Paul, who stands up for freedom and the Constitution even if it means standing alone.  He has proven he deserves our respect, and our trust.

Ron Paul Blasts GOP Establishment In Dramatic First Campaign Video

Congressman Ron Paul has hit the ground running in Iowa and New Hampshire with a dramatic 2012 presidential campaign ad that directly targets the GOP leadership.

According to Paul’s campaign team, the Congressman has taken out a six figure ad buy in the two states, traditionally home to the first primary and caucus to ultimately decide the party nominees.

The video is produced in the style of a trailer for a huge summer blockbuster film and is sure to be a viral hit online where Paul has dominated the GOP field for some time.

“The following preview has been approved for all audiences by RESTORE AMERICA NOW” the opening screenshot reads as the ad spot begins with a rousing chorus of timpani drums and ascending violins.

The ad focuses on the current debt ceiling fight, casting it in the light of a momentous struggle between “compromise” and “conviction” and chronicling past instances of Congress voting to raise the debt ceiling.

“This August the next chapter will be written, ” the ad states.

“14 trillion in debt, millions unemployed, the dollar in decline,” it continues.

“Will our party’s leaders choose the mistakes of the past?” the ad questions. As a photo of House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell hits the screen the narrator asks “Will they choose compromise or conviction?”

“We know where they stand,” the narrator says as images of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid fill the screen.

The screen fades to black, the music stops.

“One candidate has always been true,” the narrator asserts. “Ron Paul. Cut spending. Balance the budget. No deals.”

The production on the video represents a huge leap forward for the Paul campaign, which unlike that of opponents such as Mitt Romney, never wound down after the 2008 election. It is visually arresting and looks slick and fresh.

Following the announcement Tuesday that he would not be seeking re-election to Congress after 2012, the Congressman knows that this will be his last campaign as an active political representative. Paul is 100% focused on what will effectively be his last stand.

Paul campaign chairman Jesse Benton said the ad effectively delivers the message that the Texas congressman “is the only leader with the experience, record and credibility to stand up to the debt limit scheme”.

Paul has stood firm in his position on the debt ceiling debate, demanding that the GOP make no deals with Democrats unless they guarantee there will not be tax hikes, assure cuts and limits on government spending, as well as ensuring a balanced budget amendment.

“I refuse to sit still while another Big Government-empowering compromise to raise the debt ceiling is forced on the American people,” Paul says in a statement published on his campaign website, “but limited government patriots will only prevail if our elected officials hear from us right away!”

The latest polls in Iowa and New Hampshire show the Congressman making serious headway. A poll unveiled this week from American Research Group placed Paul in third in Iowa with 14%, propelling him ahead of Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin, opponents he polled behind in the same survey less than three months ago, when he stumped up just 3% of the vote.

In New Hampshire Paul garnered an overwhelming 39% of the vote in a poll conducted last weekend by the Coalition of New Hampshire Taxpayers. The real picture will likely take shape in the months to come, however, as other recent polls conducted in New Hampshire still place Romney and other GOP rivals ahead of Paul by some margin.
