Virginia already passed a similar law as have a growing number of cities and counties. [We are not fans of the ACLU, which is proposing model legislation for this move, but we wholeheartedly approve of their action in this case.]

EPA official has promised to “crucify” energy-producing companies. [This is the attitude of most of the federal government toward industrial America. As a result, industry has fled overseas, unemployment has skyrocketed, and Department of Interior head Salazar says that gas prices could rise to $9 a gallon. When we elect people who hate capitalism, that’s what we get.]WND 2012 Apr 26 (Cached)

A California dairy cow is discovered to have mad-cow disease, which is caused by cows eating discarded parts of slaughtered animals that have been ground up and added to their feed. [Most body parts from mammals have been banned from animal feed, but not all. Officials have said that this case was a ‘random mutation,” not a case of animal-feed contamination, although it is not clear how they know that.] NaturalSociety 2012 Apr 25 (Cached)
Israeli military chief says it is unlikely that Iran will build nuclear weapons and warns Israelis to avoid hysteria about that possibility. [This is contrary to the line advanced by the civilian government. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently said in an interview with CNN that there were no questions about Iran’s nuclear-weapons program and that the international sanctions had “better work soon.”]AntiWar 2012 Apr 24 (Cached)
BP Oil engineer is arrested for intentionally deleting 300 e-mail messages about the enormous flow of oil in the spill. BP’s reports to the public were at much lower levels. [We expect top decision makers to claim that they were not aware of these messages.] Bloomberg 2012 Apr 24 (Cached)

US: Ron Paul is quietly gaining delegates at the GOP nominating convention despite mainstream media’s insistence that Romney will receive the nomination. [Other strategies also exist, such as nominating Paul from the floor at the convention in Florida in August. In other words, it ain’t over until it’s over, and the action is expected to be intense.]

US Bank-Secrecy Act requires banks to report to the IRS any deposit over $10,000. Those who earn more than that and divide their earnings into two or more deposits is assumed to have done so to circumvent the law. [That makes them criminals, and they will lose all or a substantial part of their deposits. The Obama Administration is using this law to seize the savings of independent farmers, but no one is exempt.]

UN Calls for global war on crime and pledges to fight organized crime in the drug trade and corruption in the developing world. [The UN, itself, is the largest syndicate of organized crime in the world. Most so-called wars on crime, are merely ploys to justify higher taxation and increased government power without reducing crime at all. Governments have an incentive to perpetuate crime as an excuse for continuing and expanding their funding and police forces. That’s why wars on crime or drugs are never won. This article is pure propaganda.] Global Post2012 Apr 23 (Cached)

US: Homeowners across the country file class-action lawsuit against major banks for fraud and imoney laundering. The lawsuit charges that banks were aided in this crime by the Obama Administration in violation of the Patriot Act.[Although it seems that these charges are justified and easily documented, we don’t expect federal courts to allow the case to proceed. Nevertheless, we applaud the plaintiffs and their attorneys for bringing the issue into the public spotlight.] Market Watch 2012 Apr 23 (Cached)

Instead, the report recommends measures that will limit the damage to ‘acceptable’ levels. It does not say what those levels are or how to do it.] Oilprice Posted 2012 Apr 21 (Cached)
Mexico: Wal-Mart paid more than $24 million in bribes for permits to build stores nationwide. This violates US law, which forbids bribing officials in other countries. [Before agreeing that Wal-Mart is an evil company, consider that paying “mordida” (bribes) is the tradition in Mexico and many other countries. When companies pay bribes in the US to obtain favors, it’s legal because they are called campaign contributions. What’s the difference?] USA Today2012 Apr 21 (Cached)
