Regarding bias, author, Jeremy Schaap is apparently Jewish (at least from his father’s side, famous author, Dick Schaap), so if anything, Jeremy would be biased against Hitler, which seems to come out in this interview, along with some surprising facts:

Jesse Owens told others he believed Hitler waived at him, and that it wasn’t Hitler who snubbed him, but Franklin Roosevelt.
The head of the Olympic national committee told Hitler to not congratulate anyone unless you congratulate everyone, so Hitler could not have congratulated Jesse Owens after that.
Schaap also says the German people enthusiastically cheered Jesse!
