ZEITGEIST ADDENDUM – A CRITICAL REVIEW
© 2008 by G. Edward Griffin. Updated 2008 October 13
Hello Mr. Griffin. I’m sure you have heard of the popular movie on the internet, Zeitgeist. It had three separate parts about Christianity being fake, the Federal Reserve being a conspiracy and bad, and that the government was involved in 9/11. Well the sequel just came out, Zeitgeist Addendum, and it seems very dangerous. This movie screams controlled opposition/false solution propaganda more than anything I have ever seen.
The movie starts off with why the Federal Reserve is bad. It seems to latch onto valid concerns that the freedom movement/Ron Paul supporters have been worried about. But its solution is really, really bad and is already sending a lot of people in the wrong direction. It goes on to say that money is evil and has caused every problem in the world. If only we abolished all money and private property everything would be great. All resources should collectively belong to all humans of the world. Intelligent management of resources and technology could allow everyone to be free. The world would turn into some utopia. All crime would go away and greed and corruption would go away. We should be a one world community. It even specifically says that voting for liberty candidates like Ron Paul is the wrong thing to do. I guess we should give up all hope and let bad politicians do whatever they want to us.
It is full of doublespeak, wild assumptions, and crazy socialist propaganda. It also put in more about how religion is bad. I am convinced this thing was specifically made to stop the liberty movement from achieving anything. It puts in just enough truths that we believe in to trick people into following the wrong path.
I think statements about what is wrong with this film from liberty organizations like Freedom Force International would do a lot of good and would prevent some people from going in the wrong direction. Some people might think the best idea is to just ignore it and it will go away. But it appears to be incredibly popular online and gaining support. Even the most popular Ron Paul website posted the video. And the most popular Ron Paul message board has three threads with hundreds of posts talking about it. Here is the video link.

REPLY FROM E.G.:
Jonathan, I don’t like to criticize anything that is helping to spread the truth about the Federal Reserve and 9/11 but I must agree with the substance of what you have said about this video. I watched it two nights ago and was deeply disturbed by its message. At first, I thought it would be best to just let it play itself out in expectation that most viewers would cross it off as whacky. However, the production value is high, the effects and sound score are compelling, and there is enough truth embedded in the beginning to capture the attention and possibly the trust of many within the freedom movement. So here are my comments on a few items of concern: ….

I’m not sure what the back-lash for this film is based on considering that it is simply a collection of common sense information. Your review is an over-simplified, poorly written, pointless waste of time. If you want to present some intelligent facts to support your personal feelings on the film than it would be a much greater use of your time than looking for how many times you can use the word “bad” in one statement.

I strongly suggest against Zeitgeist. It, particularly the addendum, has been exposed by Alex Jones as being New World Order propaganda that takes theosophy as its inspiration. Check out the interview with Alex and Peter Joseph, where the author proposes re-education camps for those who won’t go along with his proposed utopia. Alex asks if he would have to go if he didn’t go along with the utopia, Peter said yes. I kid you not! Review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyQtN4HY4Ko . Live Interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XVnhh6Yqec
From the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/17/nyregion/17zeitgeist.html
(See below for where NYT shows Peter Joseph’s break with the 9/11 Truth Movement)
Though they were never actually shown — as most in attendance had seen them several times — Mr. Joseph’s two films, “Zeitgeist, the Movie” (released in 2007) and “Zeitgeist: Addendum” (released last fall), were the subtext of the evening: online documentaries that have been watched, he says, by 50 million people around the world.
The former may be most famous for alleging that the attacks of Sept. 11 were an “inside job” perpetrated by a power-hungry government on its witless population, a point of view that Mr. Joseph said he has recently “moved away from.” Indeed, the second film, the focus of the event, was all but empty of such conspiratorial notions, directing its rhetoric and high production values toward posing a replacement for the evils of the banking system and a perilous economy of scarcity and debt.
– The article also admits that Peter Joseph’s “Utopian” Addendum to Zeitgiest, is a Marxist fantasy, combined with the theosophic ideas of Carl Sagan. Theosophy is that of the ancient mystery religion of the New World Order, based on Babylonia and Egypt. For more on Theosophy (which could be better described of as Satanism), read the following, from Wikipedia, tho, note, that the article is criptic, because we are talking about the Occult afterall, but I provide a few hints below: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theosophy
The Oxford English Dictionary defines theosophy as: “Any system of speculation which bases the knowledge of nature upon that of the divine nature”, noting it is used in particular with reference to Boehme.
Hense, Bohemian Grove, etc. Note, that, Lucifer is the God of this world, absent of morality, thus providing justification for the power hungry tyrant, whilst the Christian God is divine, providing a framework of morality. Whether or not you believe this, the elite do.

“Planning4acrash” – I really cannot be bothered responding to your whole comment. All I’ll say is that even people who do not necessarily support The Zeitgeist Movement, are laughing at Alex Jone’s analysis.
Alex made those ridiculous conclusions (Zeitgeist = NWO) because Peter and Jacque refused to come back on his show a second time (which is what AJ wanted), so Alex had to fudge something together to fill his program didn’t he?
*laughter*

And by the way, “planning4crash” if the quote from New York Times was Peter Joseph breaking away from saying that 9/11 is an inside job:
– Why did he still accuse 9/11 of being an Inside Job in Addendum?, and
– Why does he mention on many occasions that one way for the government to bring in a ‘martial law’ system (on his radio shows) that all it would take would be “another inside job.”
Strange.

Brenton,
You may be laughing (comment #3), but this whole thing saddens me.
The first 1/3 of the film was mostly blasphemous reverse-truth-disinfo about Jesus. It saddened me to see patriotic Americans who called themselves Christians support parts 2 and 3 when part 1 is pure blasphemy. Because of part 1, I stayed clear of the film.
I was glad to see Alex take a strong stand, mentioning the new age religion in part 1 and that the producers used his own footage without permission. Why would Alex want him back, as you say? He certainly didn’t treat him as if he did.
I have never seen Alex jump on a guest like he did here. There may be a lot of truth in parts 2 and 3, but part 1 is pure lies about Jesus origin. The film is not worthy of any support, period.

The first film, Jeff, was never even intended for a true release. PJ made it as an artistic expression (he’s said this himself many times) to show to a group in lower Manhattan, and for some reason he was inspired to put it up on Google Video and – well the rest is history, a few years later we’re approaching the largest mass movement in human history.
The first film, has almost no relevance to the movement and the second film – this is something a lot of Christians just do not seem to realise. I should also note that “patriotic Americans who called themselves Christians” being Christian and patriotic are not mutually exclusive. I could pull out a quote of Thomas Paine’s that is very questionable in regard to his point of view on being “patriotic” and having a “republic”: “We have it in our power to begin the world over again.”
I’m really not concerned as to whether it’s ‘blasphemy’ because as I said, the first film has no relevance to the movement (and this is why the first film is not advertised on the website). I should actually note here that PJ wasn’t aware of The Venus Project (named so because of it’s location in Venus, Florida) until the first film had gone viral, Roxanne saw it and saw potential for Zeitgeist to move away from conspiracy notions and toward something actually tangibly possible (namely the application of the methods of science, as opposed to the ancient traditions of money and politics).
People use Alex Jones’ footage on YouTube and other sites constantly without permission, and when PJ remastered the first film he paid Alex a lot of money to be allowed to use those segments. The first film cost him more than $100,000 – which is pretty good considering it’s available for free online or you can buy it for 5 bucks.
Alex did want PJ back, and he also wanted Fresco on, as he said on one of his broadcasts.
I’m not going to take up issue with your point of view on Part I of the first film, because it’s totally irrelevant to the movement.
A lot of people stopped listening to Alex and came to the movement after his childish interview with PJ in which he spoke over him, muted him and generally behaved like a child – Peter is not the one putting up barriers.
Jeff Fenske
Brenton,
Thanks for clarifying. I didn’t realize that Alex was paid royalties, but something is clearly rotten here. I really don’t remember Alex ever treating a guest like this before. There is something slickly sick about the film when the really blatant blasphemy (which even includes George Carlin’s anti-God rant) is not only left in the Google version of the film, but also is still in the DVD that is sold at Zeitgeist the Movie http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com. And the transcript is up for all to see.
Some excerpts:
Brenton, I would agree with this next statement if it were phrased differently. Reverse-Christianity has been and still is being used to do these things. But this isn’t real Christianity, as both of my sites show. For the most part, what is taught as “Christianity” in America isn’t even close to what Jesus taught. Real Christianity does not do this, and according to the Bible, God does not control everything (though this is commonly taught). Man is free to do what he or she wants.
Real Christianity is personal responsibility in which we are all responsible to maintain right relationships with all people, including the Iraqis, for example. And real Christians stand up for what is right.
I’m sorry that Alex treated Peter without respect. However, Alex smells something rotten here. Christianity is not the problem. It’s the hijacking of it that really is the source of the problem. And I really believe that.
I point out over and over on my sites that false ‘Christian’ teachings are the root cause for the fall of America. I also believe that true Biblical teaching is the solution; though, I think it is now too late.
The “Christians” supported President Bush’s reverse-Christian policies and rejected Ron Paul in order to vote for another neoconservative. As usual, the globalists win, because the “Christians” blindly support one of their candidates every time, even if they’re pro-preemptive wars against people who haven’t even done anything against us. How much more reverse-Christian is that? “Blessed are the peacemakers,” who are the true children of God — those who follow Christ.
Christianity has been hijacked, I agree. But real Christianity is unifying in the right way. It’s the solution to everything. Real Christians would have kept our Republic.
It would be great if Alex would apologize to Peter for being disrespectful, and it would also be great if Peter would more carefully research the claims he makes falsely about the origins of Christianity and what the Bible really teaches.
There is a huge difference between what is taught in America as Christianity and what the Bible actually teaches.
Ron Paul is a Christian, for example. Look at what he teaches and what he stands up for and against.
Christianity isn’t the problem. It’s the false teachers of our day that teach a different gospel.
I liked parts 2 and 3 of “Zeitgeist.” Part 1 is pure disinfo. Alex is right in smelling a rat, but we must love everyone, even those who put out disinfo of this magnitude.
Jesus would have. Ron Paul would too, I believe. He doesn’t even get mad at Bernanke; though, he knows exactly what Bernanke is doing to this country. Paul is civil to Bernanke even when Bernanke is clearly lying to him and to all of Congress.
I hope Peter can see that Christianity isn’t the source of the problem. It’s the false teachers who push false doctrines who are, as well as the false doctrines themselves.
God bless!
May we be ONE in Christ — Who is the Peacemaker!

“However, Alex smells something rotten here. Christianity is not the problem.”
We’ve never said it was. In the society we advocate we expect religion to do what it wills, so to speak.
Jeff Fenske
Brenton,
Perhaps you don’t say that, but “we’ve never said it was” the problem, you say? But part 1 of the movie definitely does:
Again, I personally believe that false Christianity is the heart of the problem because it’s not really Christianity according to Jesus’ 2 Greatest Commandments. Most ‘Christians’ aren’t Christians. Being born-again is just the start.
They’re supposed to “know us by our love,” Jesus said. If ‘Christians’ in America really were Christians, we would be respected by all, still, and we would have a sound economy and not be duped into the lies the Republican party has pulled off.
Only fearful people can be controlled through fear, which is the Illuminati’s main tool. Problem > Reaction > Solution. But “perfect love casts out all fear,” which most pastors don’t teach anymore: perfect love.
So I agree with the movie that people can be controlled and duped by religion, but only if it is a crossless Christianity, where people keep their old sinful nature intact — where they don’t really change and live in Christ, loving the Iraqis as much as they love themselves, for example.
Even if al Qaeda really did take down the towers (though there is no way jet fuel can melt steel), real Christians don’t support wars killing people who never did anything to us. Even the war in Afghanistan is completely unjustified. How is it in any way self-defense?
Brenton, I know you agree with this, but there are still millions of ‘Christians’ who still refuse to admit they were wrong in supporting the ‘Christian’ (Skull and Bones) President, George W. Bush, who said publicly he doesn’t even fully believe the Bible.
And now they blame everything on President Obama, unwilling to repent for supporting President Bush, who probably destroyed this country more than any previous President.
Brenton, I think we will soon see a group of real Christians really walk in love. And when God shows up, like in revivals our generation has never seen but only glimpses of, perhaps Zeitgeist’s producer will then realize that real Christianity is awesome. It’s this phony stuff that’s messed up America.
Real Christians stand up for what is right and have backbone. And they admit they are wrong when they have been. And they don’t hate people! Real Christians love no matter what — even their enemies. What a concept.
Jesus not only lived, he loved those who mocked him while they were killing him. And so did Stephen, a real Christian who loved his enemies no matter what.
How many ‘Christians’ really love their enemies? It’s pretty pitiful out there. But there is a better way….

I agree with your point of view on Christians. I think that it’s important to remember that ZI PI is essentially Peter Joseph’s opinion, I recognise that a lot of people that support TZM quote him like a gospel – but we don’t all.

I just posted this, which is linked above: Zeitgeist Refuted [Final Cut]: Film refutes part 1 of Zeitgeist, which distorts history to portray Jesus as a myth
Zeitgeist, part 1 is now proven to be a fabrication and a lie. And it’s amazing that the producers won’t correct this even after Zeitgeist Refuted exposes their whole deception.
Amazing. Something is really wrong at Zeitgeistland.

Um, Jeff… the first film has nothing to do with the Zeitgeist Movement (which is pretty obvious to anyone who browses the Movement website).
Something is wrong with the idea that the validity of the movement’s scientific proposals is incumbent upon Peter J’s previous release of a conspiracy film being ‘true’.
LOL
