As a general rule, ASONP meets the second Tuesday of each month, at 7:00 pm, October – May at the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center, 121 West 7th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska.
All general meetings are free and open to the general public.
- Tuesday, March 10, 2009, 7 p.m. – ASONP member Calvin Hall, award winning Alaska photographer and author, will present his 3D images of Alaska “3D Alaska” and answer questions on how he made the images into a 3D format. 3D glasses will be available for the first 100 people at the presentation.
- Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 7 p.m. – “Floating down the Tatshenshi and Alsek River2” ASONP member Amber Johnson award winning Alaska photographer and author, will present images of her 2008 float tip down the Tatshenshi near its headwaters in Canada to its junction with the Alsek River and then through Glacier Bay National Park to the Gulf of Alaska. Note: This meeting will be at the Loussac Library in the Wilda Marston Theater.
- May 8-10, 2009 Copper River Shorebird Festival. Julie Jessen and Jules Tileston are co-leading an ASONP outing to the Festival on May 8-10, 2009. The Festival is one of THE premier world-famous places to photograph the spring migration of shorebirds as well as other birds in the Cordova area.
- July 9-12, 2009 and July 13-16, 2009 – Rottenberg and Holt Workshop on Macro Photography and Photo Computer Skills, Girdwood, Alaska. Workshop fee is $500 for ASONP members and $525 for non-members. Workshop cost does not include meals, travel or lodging. Workshops are currently full, but there is a wait list for both.
