Obama Plays Race Card, Calls on Churches to Support Campaign — Imagine if Ron Paul announced a national campaign called ‘Whites for Ron Paul’ – he’d be vilified as a racist. And yet Barack Obama has done the equivalent of precisely that with his launch of ‘African Americans for Obama.’

I do think that what Obama is doing here is disingenuous and opportunist. However, the principle of asking blacks or any minority group to organize is not immoral, and the comparison to “whites for Ron Paul” is really not an equivalent comparison. I’m a white guy and that’s a very typical response of the people in my family, similar to the “Hey you get black history month, what if we asked for a WHITE history month?” Which is just an ignorant question that deflects the real issue.
Whites are not, and have never been, a marginalized or disenfranchised race. Minorities of influence ask people of their race to band together and organize, and for good reason. If they do not band together and take action as a group, then the interests of their communities will not be addressed. Simple as that. This is not racism, it is just the facts.
Politicians seldom interested in what goes on outside of their personal bubble. They are rich, they live in rich communities. People in poor communities are largely populated by minorities. Therefore, politicians are generally uninterested in minority issues, even if they themselves are minorities! They have no first-hand experience with issues in poor communities and accept the information they are told second-hand, ESPECIALLY if it supports their preconceived notions and allow them to continue living their life exactly as it is. This leads to a ton of absolutely false assumptions about minorities living in poor communities, which have a very real effect on political policies.
Not to mention the fact that large movements like the bogus “war on drugs” have been manipulated over the years in order to specifically remove the voting rights of minorities. As i see it, there are a lot of good reasons for minorities to organize, reasons that have no equivalent with whites.

Aaahhh…..but would there be such an ugly adament outcry if “whites” organized as “Whites for Obama”? Would whites be allowed to organize then? What about the “whites” and “blacks” who united behind Herman Cain?? Democrats villified them all….which proves that this is a democrat-republican issue, and not a race issue, It also points to the agenda of the mass media. Watch out….your true prejudices and narrow mindedness are showing…..shame…
