To me, the Vegas from-the-ground shots sound like these suppressed, likely-subsonic, 9mm rounds, less the thump echo. ‘‘Shooters on the ground’ likely used a pistol version of some type of mini UZI.
In the Vegas crowd videos, it’s important to separate the shots’ brighter, nearby sounds from the thumpier, distant or echoing back ones.
These sounds are completely different than the chunkier, M60 sounding rounds. See:
