Harvard scientists reverse aging in mice by manipulating an enzyme called telomerase, which acts on chromosomes. That’s the good news. The bad news is that humans, unlike mice, naturally switch off the production of telomerase in adulthood, and it is feared by researchers that, if humans are given this enzyme, they would face a higher risk of cancer.
