I really didn’t want to post this,
but Joel doesn’t kid around.
I hope this doesn’t come to pass.

JAPAN NUCLEAR SITUATION
Japan has thrown in the towel and resigned itself to the loss of the 4 nuclear reactors that were damaged in the earthquake and Tsunami. I don’t think there is any way they would allow them to put reactors 5 and 6 back on line–especially since there was another earthquake this week.
That’s bad economic news for the electric company, but the news is worse for Japan. The radiation levels are too high to do any more remediation. That means the reactors are going to be left to complete the slow meltdown that has been going on for weeks. They will continue to put small amounts of radiation into the air, but much larger amounts into the ocean. Experts I have spoken with say the meltdown will stay mostly contained in the reactor containment chambers, even though at least one is cracked. There will be a continued release of radiation into the air around Japan, but it only a very small percentage will get into the high altitude jet stream heading for America.
This isn’t going to end well, even though it is most likely not going to result in an event as bad as Chernobyl. There are extremely minor amounts of radioactivity being reported in the US, but they are minuscule. Don’t start taking Potassium Iodide. But you should being taking food grade iodine for your health. There is hardly any organic iodine in US soils anymore, so you should be taking regular Iodine supplements like Iodoral regularly anyway, to make sure your Thyroid, but not for radiation protection.
The biggest danger is contamination of the Pacific fish stock as the Japanese current flows north into Alaskan waters. That’s going to be a disaster for the fish industry. They will probably keep catching and canning anyway, so buy up what’s on the shelves now, but not in the future. You won’t be able to trust what comes next season. [END]

I really do not think that printing this kind of speculation is good.We all know what has happened is bad are you trying to make it worse for those of us who are trying to make a living in rural Ak.?If there becomes a problem, then there is a problem. But until there is one,why create one?
Jeff Fenske
Michael,
You’re entitled to your opinion, but I believe in living in reality.
Those of us in Alaska, especially, should want to know what is going on.
Why be blindsided when it comes to things this serious?
And Joel and myself aren’t creating a problem. It’s those who cover up and lie who create the problems.
Fukushima, itself, became the disaster it is largely because of the love of money taking priority over the love of the truth.
Most people don’t even study to make sure they and their loved ones are going to heaven when they die.
People (and subsequently the nations) are being destroyed from lack of knowledge, not too much.
We would still have a stable society if more people were into the truth.
It’s all catching up with us now.

Do you believe that it would be better to simply say nothing, trust the powers that be to honestly report the radiation levels or admit there is any radiation at all in our Alaskan Salmon?
If so, I have a few for you:
“I did not have sex with that woman”
“We will get oil for our efforts in IRaq”
“There are WMDs”
“We will not put ground troops in Libya”
“NO NEW TAXES”
“The bailout money was limited to US Entitites only”
“The BP oil spill is under control”
When will we ever learn, when it walks like a duck, and looks like a duck, it’s save to say that it’s a duck”
When four Nuke PLants go bad because the Japs are breaking the law and the design limits of spent fuel strorage, and they say it’s leaking into the sea, you can bet, it’s ten times worse then they are reporting!
Traci Rae
Where do you get your facts about the Alaskan Salmon. Or is this just your opinion?
I understand the need for caution, but if you start a panic and there is no basis behind it… the alaskan economy could be your colateral damage.
People are more important that the economy, and I agree we should error on the safe side, with that said… spreading hypothetical gloom and doom could create havoc for many fishermen and processors here in Alaska.
Please you descression when condemming an industry and peoples livelyhood.
Jeff Fenske
Traci,
I stand by what I said above. You can live in the ostrich perspective if you choose to, which is a large part of what is destroying our country. I choose to live in reality, outside of the matrix.
And you’re accusing me of doing something I’m not.
Also, I didn’t write this article. I don’t have to defend it. But the MP3 here does give an interesting overview of what is going on: http://tobefree.press/2011/04/16/jeff-rense-japan-nuclear-disaster-headlines-4

Jeff, thanks for your work, we need more like yourself.
Remember only 3% of the citizenery were part of the revolt against the Brits at the beginning of our war for independence.
Most of those who were part of the 97% were too affraid to open their eyes until and lived in their safe little worlds or denial.

You’re right, let’s stay calm, keep eating the salmon because we can trust the Powers that Be to tell us when it’s unsafe.
I have lived on Alaskan Salmom for ten years, have a Sockey Steak 5 nights a week, but I think I’ll alter my diet to local grown chicken for a while, “But….you go ahead, put in your next order for Salmon….I’m sure it’ll be fine”!
nancy
hi,
i can’t find any updates on the actual amount of radiation that’s been dumped and is being dumped. they’re trying not to panic the world, i guess. as you so rightly point out, fish will ingest this. we will ingest the fish. is anyone else reporting on this on a continual basis? where can one go for real information?
Jeff Fenske
Nancy,
For the rest of the story, I would suggest Jeff Rense’s posts, which are listed in a special section in the left inside column.
And Christopher Busby is interesting. I think his information is mainly here http://llrc.org, but I haven’t looked through it.
