Palmer to discontinue adding fluoride in water
PALMER, Alaska – The town of Palmer will discontinue the practice of adding fluoride to city water.
The Palmer City Council voted 6-1 Tuesday to prohibit fluoridation in the public water supply, effective immediately. Fluoride in the town of 6,000 northeast of Anchorage has been added to the water since 1967.
Palmer City Clerk Janette Bower said Friday the council asked for an investigation in response to citizen concerns about the possible health effects of fluoridation.

The National Research Council reported that fluoride, even at levels used for fluoridation, can damage bones and teeth, disrupt thyroid function, be harmful to kidney patients and babies and that studies linking fluoride to lowered IQ and cancer are plausible
Dentists often brag that water fluoridation will put them out of business. However, after 66+ years of water fluoridation, 56+ years of fluoridated toothpaste, the creation of a multi-billion-dollar, multi-national dental products industry, yet the American Dental Association reports that ten news dental schools have or are slated to open. Also, States are creating new dental professionals to handle the growing epidemic of untreated tooth decay.
Further, a Mission of Mercy in Amarillo Texas brought dental care to 1,000 people suffering from with extensive dental disease because they can’t afford dentists’ high fees. Most of them came from naturally and artificially fluoridated areas. And they were the ones who had transportation, the ability to take off of work and afford traveling expenses. The need is probably ten times greater in Texas.
In 2004, Wasilla, Alaska, stopped fluoridation but couldn’t give its fluoridation chemicals to Palmer for free because it’s hazardous waste. But when Wasilla charged Palmer 25 cents, the fluoridation chemicals miraculously turned into a product and became legal to transport. (See: http://stopfluoridation.homestead.com/25Cents.html)
No American is or ever was fluoride-deficient. Too many are dentist-deficient. Rotten dies make rotten teeth and no amount of fluoride will change that
