The proposal to relocate the United States embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem should be handled this way:
The United States embassy should be located on the “green line” (border) between East and West Jerusalem. The embassy building itself should be delineated as such: The portion of the building in East Jerusalem should be the United States embassy to Palestine; the portion of the building in West Jerusalem should be the United States embassy to Israel. Problem solved.
Israel has been “talking peace” for the last 50 years while steadily and stealthily confiscating land from the original inhabitants on a regular basis.
Recognizing Palestine by establishing an embassy would be a good way to jump start a true “peace process”.
Of course the Israelis will wail and gnash their teeth, but so what? They need a good swift kick to get them to act in the world’s best interest.
