I do like Christopher Kurka. I think he is a good person, and he has great potential, but he’s not quite ready for the governorship. –Sen. Lora Reinbold

While Christopher Kurka tried to explain to Dan Fagan why he didn’t vote for the PFD, on air, minute-2:02:30 below, Lora Reindbold was on hold, waiting to be next, so she heard the entire Kurka/Fagan discussion. Dan asked Lora if he was right in holding Kurka’s feet to the fire. I transcribed what was said.

[Dan Fagan] “Am I wrong in holding his feet to the fire for killing that $5500 dividend, or do you think what he said was justifiable?”

[Sen. Lora Reinbold] “I think, Dan, you are right on the money, absolutely. We sit down there at the Senate and worked basically a political miracle, and got a full PFD. With the layout that is down at the Senate it literally was a political miracle. For about 10 days, I pushed David Eastman and Kurka to please vote for this. This was remarkable. And they would not tell anybody basically what they were going to do. Basically, we felt like we were just stuck down there. And then about two days before the vote, I said okay guys, I figured out what you guys are going to do; I know exactly what you’re going to do. And I texted them, and I was not very pleased, let’s put it that way, in regards to knowing how it was going to play out because of their silence.

So Dan, bottom line: you’re right on the money. They need to be held accountable for that vote. How dare you say you’re going to vote for a PFD when you just had the opportunity before your face when it mattered, and you voted ‘no.’ So Dan, you’re right on. And by the way, I do like Christopher Kurka. I think he is a good person, and he has great potential, but he’s not quite ready for the governorship. That’s my opinion.”
