Lindsey Williams on Alex Jones 7/28/08: The Next 12 Months

Lindsey resurfaces with new information: how these elitists may open two major oil fields in order to drop the price of oil to support their man, John McCain.

The large oil fields in the U.S. will remain capped, however.

Alex welcomes author and radio host Dr. Stanley Monteith and Lindsey Williams, author of The Energy Non-Crisis, to discuss oil prices and inside information they have been given concerning an expected collapse of the U.S. economy. Williams also details disturbing instances of death threats he has received. Bob Chapman of The International Forecaster also makes an appearance.

Coast to Coast AM 7/17 Recap: Alcohol-Based Fuels

From: Coast to Coast AM

Ecological biologist David Blume discussed the importance and benefits of alcohol-based fuels, and how the petroleum industry has suppressed their development. Some of the earliest cars such as the Model T were flex fuel (running on either gas or alcohol), and Henry Ford was an advocate for alcohol fuel. However, he was opposed by John D. Rockefeller who pushed for Prohibition, which stopped the manufacture of alcohol for any purpose, Blume detailed.

Cheaper than gas, alcohol is a superior fuel, as it leaves no carbon behind, engines last longer, and it can free us from foreign dependence….

Skousen: Government Keeps Energy Bottled Up (Including Solar)

GOVERNMENT KEEPS ENERGY BOTTLED UP

Despite public outrage on the obvious manipulation of gas and oil prices, the government does nothing to prosecute this collusion. It also is doing nothing to open up US oil reserves either offshore or in Alaska. While the President made a token call to open up the Arctic National Wilderness Reserve (ANWR) he did so only to make a political statement, knowing that the Senate would reject it–which they did. The footprint of the proposed drilling site is so small and in such a barren area of the ANWR that no credible argument can be made that this will lead to an environmental catastrophe. See ANWR.org for details on the bogus environmental issues. Even shale oil reserves, which have become viable for oil extraction at current prices, are still locked up by government.

All this may seem excusable given elected politician’s fear of offending the powerful environmental lobbies (supported by both the public purse and major corporate donors trying to make themselves look green). But now we find the government further hindering solar development on raw desert land–prime locations for solar farms.

Dan Frosch of the NY Times writes that “Faced with a surge in the number of proposed solar power plants, the federal government has placed a moratorium on new solar projects on public land until it studies their environmental impact, which is expected to take about two years. The Bureau of Land Management says an extensive environmental study is needed to determine how large solar plants might affect millions of acres it oversees in six Western states —- Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.” That’s bogus. Such environmental studies have long been done on desert land, and it doesn’t take two years to factor in the slight variations from one desert locale to another.

“‘It doesn’t make any sense,’ said Holly Gordon, vice president for legislative and regulatory affairs for Ausra, a solar thermal energy company in Palo Alto, Calif. ‘The Bureau of Land Management land has some of the best solar resources in the world. This could completely stunt the growth of the industry.'” Is this conspiracy or stupidity? The government uses emergency powers to blast through anything they really want to do, and yet with energy, be it solar, nuclear, coal, oil, or gas, they are dragging their feet. I believe there is a hidden agenda to create an energy crisis–to justify some yet-to-be-seen “solution.”

OIL PRICES: MARKET AND MANIPULATIVE FORCES AT WORK

The price of oil and gasoline continues to rocket upward even as demand for gasoline wanes. Miles driven by American motorists have actually dropped over 4% compared to last year.  High gasoline prices are having their effect and there is still a lot more cost cutting to come as people scramble to buy more fuel efficient vehicles.   Overall, demand for oil is increasing, but the rate of increase is slowing, even in China and India where the masses are finally now beginning to have access to personal vehicles.  Sadly, the budding personal car movement in third world countries is about to be snuffed out as rising prices threaten to dampen demand for all but the wealthy.  There are definitely some pernicious, non free-market forces at work here as the demand curve for oil is nowhere near as steep as the rising price of oil.  This week I’ll help you analyze what is happening.

HOW TO ADAPT TO HIGH GAS PRICES AS THEY IMPACT THE ECONOMY

In one of the most outrageous examples of price gouging ever witnessed, fuel prices have risen almost 10 cents per gallon per week now for more than a month. The American consumer is being held hostage to an economic and personal lifestyle that was established a century ago based upon an abundance of cheap oil and is now locked into our economic infrastructure. Most people have no ability to escape what is now upon us and getting worse. All of our cities are developed around the commuting lifestyle, allowing Americans to live in rural or suburban openness to escape pollution and city overcrowding. We travel long distances on fast freeways to get to work and none of that can be changed quickly. We never did like the European style of city living, with millions crammed into high rise city apartments, with gas prices so high that only the wealthy could afford a personal vehicle. But now it appears the Powers That Be are forcing that urban lifestyle upon us: mass transportation, high density urban dwellings, water rationing, zero-scape yards, and runaway inflation. We have a duty to both resist and adapt. This week, I’ll give some practical tips on how to adapt to avoid some of the pain.

Oil Expert: “No supply crisis to justify such a price bubble”

From: F W Engdahl

One of the stories used to support the oil futures speculators is the allegation that China’s oil import thirst is exploding out of control, driving shortages in the supply-demand equilibrium. The facts do not support the China demand thesis however. …

That means the key oil consuming nation, the USA, is experiencing a significant drop in demand. China, which consumes only a third of the oil the US does, will see a minor rise in import demand compared with the total daily world oil output of some 84 million barrels, less than half of a percent of the total demand. …

Not only is there no supply crisis to justify such a price bubble. There are several giant new oil fields due to begin production over the course of 2008 to further add to supply.

The world’s single largest oil producer, Saudi Arabia is finalizing plans to boost drilling activity by a third and increase investments by 40 %. …

Brazil’s Petrobras is in the early phase of exploiting what it estimates are newly confirmed oil reserves offshore….

In the United States, aside from rumors that the big oil companies have been deliberately sitting on vast new reserves in Alaska for fear that the prices of recent years would plunge on over-supply….

High gas prices drive farmer to switch to mules

From: Breitbart

MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – High gas prices have driven a Warren County farmer and his sons to hitch a tractor rake to a pair of mules to gather hay from their fields. T.R. Raymond bought Dolly and Molly at the Dixon mule sale last year. Son Danny Raymond trained them and also modified the tractor rake so the mules could pull it.

T.R. Raymond says the mules are slower than a petroleum-powered tractor, but there are benefits.

MORE ON GAS PRICE MANIPULATION

It’s well and good that Congress vote to stop filling the US Strategic Oil reserve because the US already has billions of barrels in the ground in Alaska–entire oil fields capped and drilled, but kept off the market.  The filling of the Strategic Petroleum reserve is merely one more attempt to keep fuel in short supply.  I will be blunt.  There is a conspiracy to raise fuel prices and it is pernicious.  No one is targeting the collusion we see daily between the oil companies.

Fred Cederholm in a Baltimore Blog noted these careful observations during the latest and suspicious run up in gas prices–too rapid and too well coordinated to be a result of natural market demands.  “It must have been some pricing strategy by all of the fuel retailers because the spike [of 13 cents a gallon] occurred everywhere, regardless of the company or the brand, at almost the same moment [within 2 hours]… I had already been on-line checking world-wide news and developments when a friend and neighbor stopped at the house to tell me I had better fill up immediately because a price jump was coming. I logged off and topped off my gas supplies for all of my fuel thirsty vehicles and gizmos. I then went back on-line to find out why the spike occurred. I found not one single development, catastrophe, or explanation. I found nothing to justify the jump!”  Later, the media will always be fed some event used to justify the increase, just like their servile explanations that “the stock market rose today due to some company performing better than expected.”   Nonsense.

105 Driving Tips for Better Gas Mileage

From: ecomodder

Here’s just one of their hard-core and one of their just plain-practical tips:

84) Avoid heater use until the engine has reached operating temperature

Engines runs rich until a minimum temperature threshold is reached. Running the heater blower before that has happened will slightly increase warm-up time and increase fuel consumption.

85) Avoid ‘warm up’ idling

Don’t idle your engine to warm it on a cold day. An idling engine gets zero miles per gallon.

Start to drive – under light loads – as soon as the engine is running smoothly (usually immediately). It’s a more efficient way to warm the engine and entire drivetrain, including tires.

Alaska’s Gull Island Oil Fields Could Power U.S. for 200 Years

“Crude oil is the real ‘currency’ of the world,” said Lindsey Williams at a gathering of the Midwest Concerned Citizens group in Kansas City on July 22. But Americans will never hear about huge oil and gas reserves in the United States, which, if ever tapped, would bring today’s fuel prices at least as low as $1.50 per gallon and make America more energy independent.

As a Baptist missionary in the 1970s, Williams said he rubbed elbows with members of the world’s power elite—who boasted of detailed 30-year and 50-year plans to control the flow of oil and information.

A huge quantity of crude oil and natural gas exists under Gull Island, located in the waters of Prudhoe Bay in Alaska, says Williams. He cited key British Petroleum memoranda and related the statements of upper echelon oil officials who told him that Gull Island would be kept under wraps, limiting domestic supplies so Americans would someday see prices hit up to $10 a gallon at the pump.

Anchorage, Alaska: Less Light Pollution from High-tech Street Lights—Yay!

From: Anchorage Daily News

The color of night is about to change.

In a move expected to save millions, improve nighttime visibility and make it easier to see the stars, the city plans to phase out its 16,500 pinkish-orange streetlights and replace them with energy-efficient white lights. In this northern metropolis, where residents live so much of their lives under artificial light, the switch means seeing everything differently.

“The one thing about the orange light, it makes everything fuzzier. White light, it makes everything crisper,” said Nancy Clanton, a Boulder, Colo., street lighting expert helping with the new lighting plan.

Light planners are also looking at ways to make street light more precise. What if lights dimmed slowly, responding to the rising sun? Is there a way to keep them from shining into bedroom windows? How many subtle undulations of northern lights could we see if we dampened Anchorage’s nighttime glow?

The city’s light replacement plan, one of the most ambitious in the nation, … would probably happen gradually as traditional lights burn out…. Streetlights burn out every three to four years.

Ethanol Myth Blasted in ‘Science’ Magazine

From: MSN Money

Now scientists have finally completed research that shows ethanol is not only bad business but also bad for the environment. According to news reports, the latest issue of Science magazine highlights studies showing that biofuels produce more greenhouse gas emissions than fossil fuels when all of their production inputs are accounted for. …

Two studies shows that replacing fossil fuels with corn-based ethanol would double greenhouse gas emissions over the next three decades. The studies show that switchgrass, an alternative to ethanol that’s more weed than plant, would boost emissions by 50%.

How? It’s because, as I described in my piece, so much energy is required to fertilize, harvest and refine the fuels. It’s also because the growing of fuel plants replaces the growing of vegetation that actually consumes harmful greenhouse gases.

Big Brother to control thermostats in homes?

Add thermostats to the list of private property the government would like to regulate as the state of California looks to require that residents install remotely monitored temperature controls in their homes next year.

The government is seeking to limit rolling blackouts and free up electric and natural gas resources by mandating that every new heating and cooling system include a “non-removable” FM receiver. The thermostat is also capable of controlling other appliances in the house, such as electric water heaters, refrigerators, pool pumps, computers and lights in response to signals from utility companies. If contractors and residents refuse to comply with the mandate, their building permits will be denied.

Alaska: Energy company wants to test wind power in Hatcher Pass

WASILLA — A company that hopes to one day build a wind farm on Fire Island in Anchorage wants a permit to install towers to test the winds at Hatcher Pass.

“This company is wind-prospecting,” said Mike Sullivan, a natural resource manager with the state Department of Natural Resources.

Cook Inlet Region Inc. spokesman Jim Jager said the Hatcher Pass project is in the very early stages of development. It’s one of several wind ideas being working on by CIRI, an Anchorage Native corporation, and its partner enXco, a California wind energy company.

Total Energy of the Stars in the Universe!

From: A Creationist’s Challenge To Evolutionists

The earth receives an incredible amount of energy from the sun, even though the sun is 93,000,000 miles away. Yet the earth only receives one part in 2 trillion of the sun’s total energy.

And since the sun is only an average star among the 100 trillion billion* stars in the universe, the total energy in all these stars is absolutely beyond human comprehension.

( I have read that the number of stars is greater than the number of grains of sand in every beach and desert in the world! )

* * *

* 100 trillion billion stars = 100 trillion x 1 billion

or

100,000,000,000,000 x 1,000,000,000

or

100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

or

10 to the 23rd power

So the total energy of the stars in the universe

is about the power of 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 suns!

Or is even greater than

if all of the grains of sand in the world

would each emit the power of the sun

simultaneously!
