Disgraceful! Romney: “I sure am laughing at Ron Paul”

From: Jones Report

WWBA 1040AM NewsTalk host, Mark Larsen, based in Tampa Bay, FL, snapped at Mitt Romney for laughing at Ron Paul and his policies. “Right there, he just lost my vote,” Larsen told listeners on the day of the Florida primary.

Larsen then declared he would be voting for Ron Paul despite his chances of becoming president because he’s “had it with these elitist f-‘s,” choking back profanity in response to Romney’s comments.

“You know this nervous chuckling and mocking of a guy who speaks the truth. The man who told you the truth more than any other in those debates– who wasn’t afraid to make enemies and tell the truth– was Ron Paul. And they laughed at him,” Larsen ranted.

“I sure am laughing at Ron Paul, I gotta tell you,” Romney told the NewsTalk host. “Anybody who says we gotta get rid of the CIA and FBI and that the reason we’re attacked by jihadists is because of us is a guy who deserves a little bit of humor to come his way.”

A furious Larsen said, “Keep laughing, Mitt. Talk to you later.”

“After hearing him chuckle like that, I’m going straight to that voting booth this morning and voting for Ron Paul,” Larsen proclaimed.

“It’s not funny. It’s absolutely not funny. I’ve got over 4,000 dead soldiers because of Iraq, which was ill conceived– the premise was wrong; they lied. I’ve got over 20,000 injured coming back. I’ve got a $1 trillion blown on that debacle, and he’s laughing about it,” Larsen said about Romney.

Pastor Baldwin: Pastors are the Main Problem in America

From Chuck Baldwin’s, 1/29/08 News with Views article:
Why Are Ron Paul’s Supporters So Angry?

[…]

In addition, I can even understand whatever anger and exasperation Ron Paul’s supporters feel regarding my fellow evangelical believers. Today’s Christians–and especially our pastors–have become little more than toadies for the establishment elite. They apparently have never read our U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence, or Bill of Rights. They are seemingly oblivious to our great American history and heritage. They seem to lack the most elementary understanding of even the most basic American principles.

For example, it makes absolutely no sense that Christian pastors would embrace the sudden pro-life candidacy of Mitt Romney and reject the proven, twenty-year pro-life record of Ron Paul. It makes no sense that evangelical Christians would embrace the pro-illegal amnesty, pro-McCain/Feingold, pro-No-Child-Left-Behind, pro-gun control John McCain and reject the proven, twenty-year no-amnesty, pro-freedom, anti-No-Child-Left-Behind, pro-Second Amendment record of Ron Paul. It makes absolutely no sense that Christians would fall for Mr. Big Government himself, Mike Huckabee, and reject the champion of limited government, Ron Paul.

Beyond that, how is it that pastors and evangelicals cannot see through the GOP’s complicity in helping to establish a Luciferian New World Order? How can they be so blind and dumb regarding the global machinations of the Council on Foreign Relations? How can they not understand and reject the philosophy emanating from the Trilateral Commission and Bilderburgers?

Ask the average pastor and Christian about the CFR, the Trilateralists, or the Bilderburgers and they just stare into space. They are absolutely clueless. Ask them about the burgeoning NAFTA superhighway, North American Union, or Amero and they look stupefied. Again, they are absolutely clueless. And, yes, I am angry about it. I am saddened and angered at the lack of knowledge, perception, and discernment demonstrated by my Christian brethren.

I believe with all my heart that if the pastors and Christian people of America would come off their high horse and start supporting the principles of liberty, the U.S. Constitution, and limited government, not only would there be a rebirth of freedom in America, there would be a spiritual revival as well.

As it is, freedom-loving people cannot see past the ignorance, elitism, and partisan phoniness of modern Christians in order that they might see Christ. The Scripture plainly says, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (II Corinthians 3:17)

When America’s Colonial preachers and Christian people fought for liberty and independence, God gave us two Great Awakenings. I believe another Great Revival would come to America, if our Christians and pastors would stand on their hind legs and once again fight for liberty and independence. And, yes, I am also angry that they will not do that either.

Ron Paul is the Only Candidate Who Can Avert a Depression

In the face of this week’s market meltdown—which has been called the worst financial crisis since WWII—the current crop of U.S. presidential candidates are preaching a hodgepodge of trite economic boosterism and disastrous governmental intervention. Unsurprisingly, the elephant in the room is Ron Paul, the political leper of anointed establishment politics, who just happens to have a massive, growing, devoted following capable of breaking fundraising records in support of him, and who has real plans to avert the global depression which is almost certainly on the way.

Romney has praised the Federal Reserve’s panic cut in the federal funds rate by 75 basis points. The cut, however, has earned round condemnation from most delegates to the World Economic Forum, who fear the move is prolonging the inevitable correction of an over-inflated marketplace.

Obama believes the severe economic woes—the symptom of hundreds of trillions of dollars of under-regulated high-risk financial instruments known as derivatives, a fiat currency, and the staggering debt and deficit the federal government is creating in foreign adventurism—can be solved by “saying to banks that they have to invest in their communities.”

McCain has been shamelessly trumpeting the old political hogwash that despite the crashing market, spiraling currency and signs of crisis in some of the largest institutional lenders in the country, “the fundamental underpinnings of our economy are strong.”

All agree that Bush’s harebrained scheme to increase inflation by printing money and handing it out in rebate cheques—a scheme with questionable short-term benefits and no long-term benefits—is a great idea.

All, that is, except for Paul. Paul has spoken and written at length about the inflation tax, ….

Romney: Iraq War a Good Idea & “We Ought to Double Guantanamo”

From: New York Times Florida Republican Debate Transcript

MR. RUSSERT: Governor Romney, was the war in Iraq a good idea worth the cost in blood and treasure we have spent?

MR. ROMNEY: It was the right decision to go into Iraq. I supported it at the time; I support it now.

From: CFR South Carolina Repulican Debate Transcript

MR. ROMNEY: … Some people have said, we ought to close Guantanamo. My view is, we ought to double Guantanamo. We ought to make sure that the terrorists — (applause) — and there’s no question but that in a setting like that where you have a ticking bomb that the president of the United States — not the CIA interrogator, the president of the United States — has to make the call. And enhanced interrogation techniques have to be used — not torture but enhanced interrogation techniques, yes.

Romney Surrounded by Pro-U.N. Lobbyists

Insisting that he is a Washington outsider, Mitt Romney has been captured on tape arguing with a reporter about whether a Washington lobbyist named Ron Kaufman runs or just advises his campaign for president. The more important issue is what Kaufman lobbies for. It turns out that Kaufman’s firm, as well as another Romney adviser, Vin Weber, have worked to put more American taxpayer dollars into the coffers of the corrupt United Nations and other international agencies.

[Skousen] Election Central: Romney—The One to Stop

ELECTION CENTRAL: ROMNEY–THE ONE TO STOP

With a solid win in the Michigan primary, supposedly a “make it or break it” contest for Romney, the establishment is now going to have it’s hands full trying to stop the surge for Romney. The media claimed Romney’s grasp of the economy was what propelled him to victory in Michigan. Not so. It was just bad, old-fashioned pandering to a depressed economic area, promising federal help-though avoiding the word “bailout.” Romney is not taking the high road of a Ron Paul, who would never stoop to promising benefits. This, sadly, makes Ron Paul less electable and easier for the establishment to dismiss. But Romney is playing the establishment game with the best, and that is the establishment’s problem. As Romney tries to appeal to a wide audience, the election insiders are having to promote 3 different candidates, in different ways and at different times, in order to stop various aspects of the Romney appeal.

Skousen: Election Manipulation in Full Swing

World Affairs Brief, January 11, 2008. Commentary and Insights on a Troubled World.

ELECTION MANIPULATION IN FULL SWING

We live in a fractured society pitting a few million ideologically savvy people against a growing majority of ill-informed voters whose ideas are manipulated by the media. Almost all voters are dissatisfied with the status quo, but often for the wrong reasons. The majority keeps being lured away from limited government by the promise of greater federal health and education benefits as if that were the solution to galloping inflation. In fact, it is the problem-not the solution.

Predictably, they always vote for change, but change never comes. This is because we are rarely presented with a candidate who understands the totality of change necessary. When a candidate like Ron Paul emerges, who really understands the problems and proposes the inevitable tough solutions, he is labeled as a kook, or extremist,…but mostly ignored. About 2-5% of the nation is able to see through it all, but as we found out in the New Hampshire primary, it’s not enough to overtake the momentum of ignorance within the majority. The system is rigged for secrecy, and takes advantage of the average American’s dependence upon the half-truths and distortions we are fed by the establishment media, public education and conventional political theory. Thus, the typical voter holds an almost infinite variety of ignorant and irrational ideas about both cause and effect of our national crises and thus becomes easy prey to false solutions and media manipulation. We saw all these things play out in New Hampshire this week, including some last minute media manipulation and vote fraud–signs that the Powers That Be (PTB) are having to scramble to control this race.

Huckabee Jokes About Shooting Romney for Airing Negative Ads

Cut to footage of Huckabee speaking with reporters in the field at the conclusion of his hunt, still dressed in field gear.

MIKE HUCKABEE: It proved that you can shoot, and if someone really messes with you with negative campaign ads, they just need to be prepared.

COWAN: It was a dig at Mitt Romney, who he’s edged out in the polls here, but statistically still a toss-up between the two.

[…]

Yet another odd statment from Huck, and more of the MSM laughing it off. The CBS Early Show this morning played a clip of Huckabee out in the field. A reporter can be heard asking “Governor, you like to speak in metaphors. What’s the metaphor here?” Huckabee responds “don’t get in my way.” CBS had introduced the clip by calling it an example of Huckabee’s “folksy wit.”

A bit later, Early Show host Russ Mitchell interviewed Huckabee. Referring to the clip, Mitchell said “of course you were teasing,” and was about to move to another matter, when Huckabee interrupted him: “No Russ, I wasn’t teasing. I was serious: don’t get in my way.”

Pastor Baldwin: Supposed “Pro-Life” Candidates Should Put Up or Shut Up

Excerpt from News with Views:

The only presidential candidate who has a commitment to saving the lives of unborn babies and who understands the constitutional authority of Congress to end abortion-on-demand is Texas Congressman Ron Paul (with the exception of Alan Keyes, who recently announced his candidacy). You read it right. At this point, John McCain is all talk; Mitt Romney is all talk; Fred Thompson is all talk. And even Mike Huckabee is all talk. …

When it comes to ending abortion-on-demand and overturning Roe v. Wade, the only thing Mike Huckabee (and the rest of the Republican presidential candidates, save Ron Paul and Alan Keyes) will say is that they will appoint the right judges, as if they have no power as President to do anything else. (Good grief! Even Rudy Giuliani says as much.) …

Ron Paul seems to be the only presidential candidate who understands that under Article. III. Section. 2., the Constitution gives to the Congress of the United States the power to hold rogue courts in check and to overturn outlandish rulings such as Roe v. Wade.

Accordingly, Ron Paul has introduced and reintroduced the Sanctity of Life Act (including in the current Congress). If passed, this Bill would recognize the personhood of all unborn babies by declaring that “human life shall be deemed to exist from conception.” The Bill also recognizes the authority of each State to protect the lives of unborn children. In addition, this Bill would remove abortion from the jurisdiction of the Court, thereby nullifying the Roe v. Wade decision. The Bill would also deny funding for abortion providers. In plain language, the Bill would overturn Roe v. Wade and end abortion-on-demand.

Is it not more than interesting that “pro-life” President George W. Bush, along with the “pro-life” Republican Party leadership of both houses of Congress, refused–and continues to refuse–to support Ron Paul’s Sanctity of Life Act? In addition, not a single “pro-life” presidential candidate outside of Ron Paul has even bothered to mention the Sanctity of Life Act, much less aggressively call for its implementation with a promise that, if elected President, he would sign it into law. Not Huckabee; not McCain; not Thompson; not Romney; none of them! …

Every four years, Republicans trot out a conservative façade during an election season for the purpose of obtaining the votes of susceptible Christians. And every four years, conservative Christians–like starving catfish–take the bait: hook, line, and sinker.

“Save us from the monster,” seems to be the cry of well-meaning–but easily manipulated–conservatives. The “monster” is whoever the Democrats nominate, of course. But, ladies and gentlemen, the Republican Party has done absolutely nothing to change the course of the country. Nothing! In fact, it has only gotten worse with Republicans in charge.

Ron Paul is the only candidate running against the status quo. He is the only candidate who takes his oath to the Constitution seriously. He is the only candidate who, if elected, would actually turn the country around. A Ron Paul victory would launch a new American revolution: a revolution of freedom and independence such as we have not seen since 1776. Furthermore, among the major Republican presidential contenders, Ron Paul is the only candidate whose pro-life commitment extends beyond rhetoric.
