Operation Mockingbird: CIA Media Manipulation

From: Prison Planet

Starting in the early days of the Cold War (late 40’s), the CIA began a secret project called Operation Mockingbird, with the intent of buying influence behind the scenes at major media outlets and putting reporters on the CIA payroll, which has proven to be a stunning ongoing success. The CIA effort to recruit American news organizations and journalists to become spies and disseminators of propaganda, was headed up by Frank Wisner, Allen Dulles, Richard Helms, and Philip Graham (publisher of The Washington Post). Wisner had taken Graham under his wing to direct the program code-named Operation Mockingbird and both have presumably committed suicide.

Media assets will eventually include ABC, NBC, CBS, Time, Newsweek, Associated Press, United Press International (UPI), Reuters, Hearst Newspapers, Scripps-Howard, Copley News Service, etc. and 400 journalists, who have secretly carried out assignments according to documents on file at CIA headquarters, from intelligence-gathering to serving as go-betweens. The CIA had infiltrated the nation’s businesses, media, and universities with tens of thousands of on-call operatives by the 1950’s. CIA Director Dulles had staffed the CIA almost exclusively with Ivy League graduates, especially from Yale with figures like George Herbert Walker Bush from the “Skull and Crossbones” Society.

Many Americans still insist or persist in believing that we have a free press….

CNN: Without Honor and Lying

From: Max Kennedy at Nolan Chart

The CNN Debate was held tonight, January 30th, for the Republican party. Again, they excluded Ron Paul from speaking. …

I took particular offense at where Ron Paul tried to answer a question, and the CNN host [Anderson Cooper] PROMISED to let him answer in two minutes, and he would get back to him.  He never did. …

He lied on the air, intentionally, in front of millions. That lying is considered not wrong is outrageous and unbelievable. A Democracy can not exist where debates no longer exist.

Former CIA Trainee, Anderson Cooper Cheats Ron Paul During CNN “Debate”

From: Prison Planet

Ron Paul was cheated for the umpteenth time last night, this time by CNN, as the corporate media once again engaged in mass public deception by advertising their spectacle as a “debate” when in fact it was nothing more than a staged punch and judy show.

CIA trainee Anderson Cooper directed just five questions at Congressman Paul as well as two half-questions, the answers to which he interrupted on both occasions.

In comparison, Mitt Romney fielded 17 questions and John McCain got 15, not including the time the two spent bickering with each other about their past statements.

Again, just as with the previous MSNBC debate and numerous others before it, Ron Paul was given less than a third of the questions as the other candidates.

News shocker: Ron Paul was biggest GOP fundraiser last quarter

From: LA Times

Well, it’s official, ladies and gentlemen. Believe it or not, Rep. Ron Paul, the 72-year-old Texan who hardly ever gets mentioned in Republican political news and the one-time libertarian who always gets the least time on TV debates if he isn’t barred completely, was, in fact, the most successful Republican fundraiser in the last three months of 2007.

By a Texas mile.

“Why do rich people seem to be getting richer, while you and all your friends seem to be hardly making ends meet?

Why does a first class stamp cost you nearly 40 cents when it used to cost only 5 cents?

Inflation, I think, is a bad word, because really, we think of inflation as rising prices. But in reality, what’s happening: prices are not going up, it’s that the value of the dollar or the monetary unit is going down. …

The Federal Reserve System is the agency of a hidden tax, called inflation.”

Where this graph is headed is for total destruction of our monetary system. Our money will be totally worthless, and it’ll probably be reissued in the form of some international currency, which will be equally worthless. But the value to these people is that once it’s on an international basis, there’s nowhere else to go.

Right now, if you don’t like American dollars you can buy Japanese Yen. … If you don’t like that, you can move to whatever currency seems to be having a little better track record.

Once there’s an international monetary system in place, modeled completely and exactly after the Federal Reserve system—It’s exactly the same—then there’s no place else to go, folks. You’ve had it.

If we don’t turn this thing around, I think we’re going to be living in kind of a modern serfdom.”

College Student: Where is Ron Paul—the Real ‘CHANGE’ Candidate?

Where is Ron Paul?
By Maire Gurevitz

… Not only was I outraged that my favored candidate, Dennis Kucinich, was not included in the later debates, even though he remained in the race, but I would have to say that I am most disappointed in the lack of coverage for the Republican candidate, Ron Paul, a Congressman from Texas.

The media has been making a huge deal out of the fact that voters are generally looking for “change.” “Change” has been deemed by the media as the catch word of this campaign, after the Iowa caucuses, and since Iowa, all the candidates have been stumping on the campaign trail about ways in which they are the candidate for change. Well, as far as I am concerned, they are all ridiculous, except for Ron Paul. …

This being said, my wish for the rest of primary season is that the mass media will forget about washed up candidates and not talk about “change” anymore if they are not going to recognize the amazing campaign that Ron Paul is running. So, here’s to Ron Paul and my first foray into flattering a Republican.

‘Dr. No’ Blackout: Supporters Lying to Be Heard

From: Not Just a Campaign, It’s a Movement, by Alan Stang

Notice that our Communist media still treat Fred and Rudy as major candidates while they do their best to ignore Dr. No. In a classic example, the New York Times, which has assiduously promoted Communism since Walter Duranty, reported the Nevada results of all the candidates – even Rudy Who and CFR Fred – complete with pictures, except the man who took second with 14%.

The other day, in a discussion about conservatism on the air, I heard a caller ask Rush Limbaugh about Dr. No. How the caller got through the screener, I don’t know. Limbag stuttered, said he “profoundly disagreed” that Dr. Paul expressed conservative principles, hung up and went to break. That was it; there was not a syllable of argument that proved Dr. Paul wrong, just Limbag’s expression of profound disagreement.

Somebody else called Republican front man Hugh Hewitt. The caller told the screener he was for far leftist John McCain, but on the air he shouted that he was for Dr. Paul. Hewitt told the screener who blew it that his check would be docked $10 if that happens again. Of course, Hewitt was joking, about the $10, not about his desire to squelch Dr. No.

Maybe the editors at the Times are too busy buggering each other to be aware of this, but they and right wing Communist talk radio scumbags like Hannatwit are destroying their own credibility, a symptom of the fact that the Old Media are dying. Of course in their death throes they are more dangerous than ever. I submit that for Dr. Paul to do as well as he has in the face of all this is something of a political miracle.

MSNBC Disgraceful Towards Ron Paul

Just 2 minutes ago I am watching the MSNBC coverage of the Nevada primary…. They then flash Obama, Hillary and Edwards graphic up showing 48%, 46% and 5% for Edwards. They then show the Republican numbers and only show two candidates numbers in their NEW GRAPHIC.

For the first time in all the primaries they decide to use a “top 2″ candidate graphic, because Ron Paul is a very close third place with 12%. In all other primaries they show the top three in their default graphic, and for the first time in all the coverage they decide its time to use just the top 2. They still show the top three in the Democrat race, event though Edwards is 36 POINTS behind the second place slot of Hillary, But the don’t show Ron Paul third when he is only 1% behind being in second place.

[Skousen] Election Central: Romney—The One to Stop

World Affairs Brief, January 18, 2008. Commentary and Insights on a Troubled World.

ELECTION CENTRAL: ROMNEY–THE ONE TO STOP

With a solid win in the Michigan primary, supposedly a “make it or break it” contest for Romney, the establishment is now going to have it’s hands full trying to stop the surge for Romney. The media claimed Romney’s grasp of the economy was what propelled him to victory in Michigan. Not so. It was just bad, old-fashioned pandering to a depressed economic area, promising federal help-though avoiding the word “bailout.” Romney is not taking the high road of a Ron Paul, who would never stoop to promising benefits. This, sadly, makes Ron Paul less electable and easier for the establishment to dismiss. But Romney is playing the establishment game with the best, and that is the establishment’s problem. As Romney tries to appeal to a wide audience, the election insiders are having to promote 3 different candidates, in different ways and at different times, in order to stop various aspects of the Romney appeal.

Letter: ‘Fair and balanced,’ except for Paul

Letter: ‘Fair and balanced,’ except for Paul

January 16, 2008 – 12:01 AM

I cannot believe the degree of blatant bias that Fox News showed at the recent GOP debate in South Carolina. Their “mediators” asked the “top tier” candidates about their views on important issues, while using each question to Ron Paul as an opportunity to discredit him.

They asked Mike Huckabee about his views on the economy and his associated plans, then turned and asked Paul about some of his supporters who believe 9/11 was an inside job. They even had the nerve to ask Paul, “When it comes to electability…do you have any?” This drew laughter from the other candidates and some audience members. Paul was able to turn the question around on them, drawing huge applause from the crowd.

So now “Faux” News has edited that question out of the re-aired debate. This treatment happening just days after they decided to exclude Paul from their debate in New Hampshire because he wasn’t a “viable” candidate. That seemed awfully strange to me, seeing as they invited Rudy Giuliani, whom Paul beat in the Iowa caucuses by 6 percent.

How is it that a news organization whose motto is “fair and balanced” can get away with treating Ron Paul like this? It makes me angry that more people are not up in arms at Fox’s attempt to influence the masses through the facade of honest reporting. Fox News is nothing more than a neo-con propaganda machine.

Skousen: Election Manipulation in Full Swing

World Affairs Brief, January 11, 2008. Commentary and Insights on a Troubled World.

Copyright Joel Skousen. Partial quotations with attribution permitted. Cite source as Joel Skousen’s World Affairs Brief

ELECTION MANIPULATION IN FULL SWING

We live in a fractured society pitting a few million ideologically savvy people against a growing majority of ill-informed voters whose ideas are manipulated by the media. Almost all voters are dissatisfied with the status quo, but often for the wrong reasons. The majority keeps being lured away from limited government by the promise of greater federal health and education benefits as if that were the solution to galloping inflation. In fact, it is the problem-not the solution.

Predictably, they always vote for change, but change never comes. This is because we are rarely presented with a candidate who understands the totality of change necessary. When a candidate like Ron Paul emerges, who really understands the problems and proposes the inevitable tough solutions, he is labeled as a kook, or extremist,…but mostly ignored. About 2-5% of the nation is able to see through it all, but as we found out in the New Hampshire primary, it’s not enough to overtake the momentum of ignorance within the majority. The system is rigged for secrecy, and takes advantage of the average American’s dependence upon the half-truths and distortions we are fed by the establishment media, public education and conventional political theory. Thus, the typical voter holds an almost infinite variety of ignorant and irrational ideas about both cause and effect of our national crises and thus becomes easy prey to false solutions and media manipulation. We saw all these things play out in New Hampshire this week, including some last minute media manipulation and vote fraud–signs that the Powers That Be (PTB) are having to scramble to control this race.

The Fox / Leno Miracle
Posted January 8th, 2008 by zenpiper

If there is one amazing aspect to this campaign is that miracles happen all the time. Or, for the non-spiritual readers, that no matter how many lemons are thrown at Ron Paul, he comes up with lemonade. I like the idea of miracles better because so many unexplained windfalls have happened that it defies the odds.

When Fox stated last week that RP was not invited to the event, many of us reacted in shock, dismay and anger. It was not fair nor justifiable by any measure: it was dirty politics. Everybody saw that. Many posters (including me) mused about ways we could give Fox a kick in the shins (or worse) including stock sell-off, barrages of emails and phone calls and generally sticking a finger in the Fox eye. It was maddening.

Then a little miracle appeared in the form of The Tonight Show and Jay Leno. Not only did RP get a lot of air time, a good solo intro by Jay, Ron’s message was carried to many more viewers than the Fox debate would have offered. Ron was in top form and the audience was clearly stoked to hear him. It doesn’t get much better.

But the real message is that–no matter what happens in terms of negative stuff–something wonderful comes out of it. It is though an unseen hand is guiding this campaign, and has been all along. This is just amazing to me.

Blatant Anti-Paul Media Bias: CNN Pie Charts [Iowa]

I’m watching CNN’s coverage of the Iowa Caucus, and I’m just amazed at the how blatantly they’re ignoring Ron Paul entirely. I have always considered the bias against him to be the result of his low numbers, but as I’m watching this I can only conclude that they just don’t want him getting attention. Let me explain.

On the screen they have these pie charts showing the percentage of votes for each candidate. The pie chart shows 35% Huckabee, 24% Romney, 14% Thompson, 12% McCain, and then a big gray slice that’s not labeled. Add those up. That’s 85%, which leaves 15% unaccounted for. You would expect this perhaps if that 15% was very evenly split among many candidates. So I looked at CNN.com for the full results. Here’s the shocker: Ron Paul has 11%. Look again at the numbers above. Ron Paul is only 1% behind McCain, who shows prominently in the pie chart on national TV. Giuliani has 4%, and no other candidate shows anything.

Then I look at the Democrat pie chart on TV. It shows 4 or 5 candidates called out, and then a tiny gray area for about 2%. There is no giant gray area with no name.

Skousen: Beck’s Ron Paul Interview; What’s Behind the McCain Surge?

World Affairs Brief, December 21, 2007. Commentary and Insights on a Troubled World.

Copyright Joel Skousen. Partial quotations with attribution permitted. Cite source as Joel Skousen’s World Affairs Brief

WHAT’S BEHIND THE MCCAIN SURGE?

When several major American newspapers act in unison to endorse the candidacy of someone like Sen. John McCain, who is out of money, pushing a warmongering agenda, and declining in the polls, it is clear there is manipulation afoot. Even Henry Kissinger chimed in with an endorsement of McCain, which is very telling. This week a lot of private phone calls were made as insiders worked their influence behind the scenes to manage media endorsements and reverse negative public perceptions about McCain. Up until last week, The Des Moines Register editorial board was negative on McCain and Clinton. Something turned them around this week to make them endorse McCain and Clinton and it wasn’t the candidates themselves. Last week the media was pushing Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and his Christian credentials (which they despise) in an effort to dampen the robust lead of Mitt Romney in both Iowa and New Hampshire. Yet, in contrast, there was hardly a word about the real surge in popular support for Congressman Ron Paul, except for the begrudging acknowledgment of his $6 million fundraising day on Dec. 16. This week I’ll analyze why the Powers That Be in Washington are worried this election might get away from them.

Glenn Beck Show Scrolls Huckabee’s “Paul Is Dead” Message During Ron *Paul* Interview

On Tuesday at 7 Eastern Glenn Beck interviews Ron Paul and scrolls the message Paul is Dead, Paul is Dead, Paul is Dead from Huckabee on the bottom of the screen.by Michael McDonnough
(Libertarian)

pauldead.jpg

I find it very offensive for Glenn Beck to be scrolling the message Paul is Dead, Paul is Dead, Paul is Dead on the bottom of the screen during the interview with Ron Paul.

I think he should make it clear that he wishes no ill will to Dr. Ron Paul. His interview I thought was fair on the surface but he did take the interview into the typical conspiracy camp.

I would like to know why this guy Huckabee thought it appropriate to make this statement that was scrolling by during this interview? Ron Paul was right in that the threat of Theocons taking over the government is a serious threat to our nation. In his statement of earlier in the day he seemed a bit tired and un focused when he was hit with these off Fauxian questions.

I might add that Paul was talking about domestic threats to our nation at the moment that Huckabee’s death to Paul comments are scrolling by in this video.

The subliminals are pretty obvious to most any trained observer.

I am quite disgusted with Beck for this. I am pretty much disgusted with Huckabee for his statements as well, but that is politics. It is a dirty game. Here is the video.

Some thoughts I have, responding to the comments below.

Thanks for the feedback! Many good points!

It’s hard to say for sure what CNN’s motive was. Perhaps they were just reporting the news, or perhaps they knew exactly how “Paul is dead” would look underneath Ron Paul’s face during the interview, whether they played it before the interview or not.

The networks are owned by the globalist, one-worlders, who are totally aware that a Paul Presidency would seriously set back their fast-track, one-world-government timetable. So they try to marginalize Ron Paul every way they can, mostly by ignoring him (even in many of their polls), and instead trying to bring all of the attention to those whom they know will carry out their agenda, like Mike Hukabee.

Here, Paul finally got a chance to speak more than in just sound-bites (though they still didn’t cover a lot of ground). It is possible CNN ran this to get people to laugh at Paul, which is the Devil’s way.

But what interests me more is why did Mike Huckabee choose this particular expression, given that the opponent who seems to bother him the most is named Paul?

During one of the debates, Huckabee’s true colors came out when he viciously attacked Paul for Paul’s stand on the Iraq war. In my opinion, Huckabee was going for Paul’s jugular, and the words that came to mind were: “mean spirited,” which it just so happens he has a reputation for.

Just because a person was a pastor and says he follows Christ doesn’t mean he does follow Christ sufficiently enough for us to trust him to lead our country. Most evangelicals made this mistake with George W. Bush, and many still won’t see it, or at least admit it – as America is turned into a police state.

John Klar wrote an amazing book where he lays it out clearly: Christian Words, Unchristian Actions: George W. Bush and the Desecration of Christianity in Modern America. If the Evangelicals continue to push Huckabee so hard and he’s elected, John Klar may be able to write an even more tragic sequel.

Go Ron Paul!

Here is the ad Huckabee is referring to when he’s saying “Paul is dead,” to those who say the bookcase looks like a cross.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xn7uSHtkuA]

Everything in short campaign ads is meticulously placed and perfectly lit to make the biggest possible impact. Here, the music is “Silent Night,” and they only have 30 seconds as the brightly lit cross (“It’s only a bookcase”) pans behind Mike Huckabee.

Note, the Christmas tree blocks the bookcase just enough to make the cross horizontally symmetrical, and the lighting is perfect to make the front edge far brighter than the inside of the shelves.

Accident? No way. And it’s like Huckabee to make a joke instead of answering directly – truthfully? And “Paul is dead” may be a joke against Ron Paul. We shouldn’t put it past him.

The cross motif has been done before:

hitleratchurch.jpg

[Click for more “Hitler wearing the cross…” photos]

I’m not saying that Huckabee is Hitler. I can see many good things in Huckabee. But as Ron Paul says: “Fascism comes wrapped in a flag, carrying a cross.”

The globalist elite could use Huckabee to carry out their Hitlerish wishes. But they’ll never be able to do that with Ron Paul, who bows to no elitist. Praise God!!!

We must be careful, you all, and not put it past them to use simple, stupid stuff like this to try to manipulate us.

Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee————–dom!!!!!!!!!!!!
