The day after Jay Leno signed off on 22 years of hosting The Tonight Show, suspicions still abound as to why he was canned despite still being on top of the ratings. Could the fact that Leno was the first mainstream comedian to criticize Obama on sensitive issues such as Benghazi-gate have contributed to him being ejected by NBC?
Whereas virtually every late night comic has made superficial sideswipes at Obama in recent years, Leno took the unusual step of taking a conservative talking point, Benghazi-gate, and incorporating it into his Tonight Show monologue on two separate occasions.
The first example occurred back in October 2012, when Leno quipped, “Don’t ask – don’t tell” is back. Not the gays in the military. It’s President Obama’s new policy for questioning about Libya. Don’t ask – don’t tell. That’s the big story. The Republicans are accusing the White House of successfully engineering a massive cover-up of the Libyan attack. But on the plus side, it’s the first time in four years the Republicans have credit to Obama for doing anything successful.”
Leno returned to the subject two months later in December 2012, when he discussed a CBS News journalist becoming the first reporter, besides one from Fox News, to ask Obama who changed the talking points on Benghazi. Leno “joked” that should a journalist “suddenly start asking real questions,” this would be “very dangerous to the White House.”

It’s widely acknowledged that, unlike several other mainstream talk show hosts, Leno writes his own jokes. Four months after his second Benghazi-gate monologue, it was announced that Leno was being replaced by Jimmy Fallon.
In recent months, Leno has repeatedly ripped on Obama for the disastrous rollout of Obamacare, stating back in November that, “Obama’s better off smoking crack than passing Obamacare.”
Last August, radio host Michael Savage played a montage of anti-Obama jokes told by Leno which included criticism of the administration being embroiled in numerous scandals including the AP wiretapping controversy, NSA spying, as well as Leno’s call to “close down the IRS.”
The relentless number of stinging anti-Obama jokes told by Leno both before and after the decision to replace him on the Tonight Show was announced obviously go above and beyond anything we’ve heard from the likes of Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon or David Letterman.
Whether Leno was overcompensating in response to criticism that he had asked Obama softball questions when the president appeared on his show in 2011, or if he was genuinely using the huge platform of the Tonight Show to vent his disgust with the administration, it seems clear that the talk show host’s material became more hardcore anti-Obama the nearer it came to his exit from NBC.
NBC’s decision to replace Leno cannot be explained by falling ratings. Leno was still on top of the pile, and his ratings more recently were through the roof. According to the New York Times, Leno’s previous indication that he would continue hosting Tonight until he keeled over fed, “the lingering suspicion that Mr. Leno remained somewhat perturbed with NBC’s latest decision to replace him.”
Leno alluded to being stabbed in the back by NBC when he told a joke about a man with a knife in his back for three years: “He must’ve worked at NBC, too,” quipped Leno.
Could part of NBC’s reasoning for replacing Leno with Jimmy Fallon be explained by pressure from above? Was Leno becoming too harsh in his condemnation of an administration and a presidency that the network has steadfastly supported?
Did Comcast Corporation, which last year bought out General Electric’s 49% stake in NBC and donated over $300,000 dollars to Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign, have anything to do with Leno’s exit?
Whether there’s a connection or not, there will be a lot less incisive and witty condemnation of the Obama White House, particularly targeted at liberal audiences, now that Leno is off the air.

WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – A new book covering the 2012 presidential campaign uncovers a series of scathing remarks from political figures, but one alleged comment has stirred controversy around President Barack Obama and his administration’s use of targeted drone strikes.
Mark Halperin and John Heilemann’s book “Double Down: Game Change 2012” notes President Obama commenting on drone strikes, reportedly telling his aides that he’s “really good at killing people.”

The dispute over Barack Obama’s eligibility captured the imagination of the American public with stunning revelations, lawsuits, a best-selling book and, finally, the release of what was described as the “original” birth certificate from Hawaii in an attempt to silence the doubters.
Since that time, it’s been mostly Obama’s defenders gloating and deriding anyone who questions the official narrative as so-called “birthers.”
That might change soon, according to the lead investigator for Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Cold Case Posse in Arizona, which was assigned to do a thorough investigation of the document posted by the White House as Obama’s birth certification.
Lt. Mike Zullo told WND there is interest being expressed in Congress about the investigation’s conclusion that the White House document is fraudulent — an image created on a computer.
A contingent of citizens in Maricopa County had asked Arpaio to look into the issue because they were concerned an ineligible candidate would be on their 2012 presidential election ballot.
Zullo previously has contributed evidence to a court case — now pending before the state Supreme Court in Alabama — on the dispute. He has testified that the White House computer image of Obama’s birth certificate contains anomalies that are unexplainable unless the document had been fabricated piecemeal by human intervention, rather than being copied from a genuine paper document.

MORE ON DEATH OF SEAL TEAM SIX IN AFGHANISTAN
The official story that members of SEAL Team 6 were killed in a reserve helicopter crash in Afghanistan just has too many inconsistencies to be accepted by those who know military operations. As I have pointed out before, the SEALs have their own dedicated helos and don’t travel in Reserve helicopters. Second, there is always a manifest when taking off from a regular base. As the Washington Times points out, families of the victims are contesting the government version
The spokesman (for the families) noted that the official investigation “found that the tactics employed in the mission were consistent with previous missions.”
“It was not a thorough investigation. It’s a shame that we as parents have to demand a congressional investigation to find out answers.” The families noted that Afghan security forces were closely involved in planning the mission, yet no one appears as having been interviewed in the military’s official investigative records given to relatives.
Based on investigative documents, which U.S. Central Command later erased from its website, The Times revealed that special operators were uncomfortable flying with conventional National Guard flight crews, who ferried the SEALs that night.
One of the fathers (Mr. Strange) said “To put my son in the most elite SEAL team in the world in a Chinook helicopter over an active battle that’s been going on for over 3½ hours — unacceptable. Unacceptable,” Mr. Strange said. “Somebody has to answer for this.”
The family members suggested that these insiders leaked information about the mission to the Taliban, given the fact that the enemy happened to be stationed near the landing zone on a roof with rocket-propelled grenades.
“[They] were positioned in a tower in a building at the perfect place and the exact time to launch an attack on the CH-47 when it was most vulnerable,” said Doug Hamburger, father of Army National Guard Sgt. Patrick Hamburger, a gunner and flight engineer. “How can anyone justify putting our troops in that type of danger?
The Times also reported that Apache gunships could have gone to the landing zone to provide protection, but they were never ordered to do so and stayed involved hunting the Taliban, who had run into some woods. A Ranger officer told investigators that he could not explain why the choppers were not ordered to cover for the incoming Chinook.
Investigators also were told that special operations helicopters were moved out of their region, which included the Tangi Valley just south of Kabul, and moved farther south. Officers said they were never told why.
As I pointed out in the briefs, the evidence of direct witnesses to the raid on the claimed bin Laden compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan say only one chopper landed and it crashed and burned when leaving, killing all aboard. I concluded that the raid was a set up to fake bin Laden’s death (having died years before) to boost Obama’s popularity. Seal Team Six members on the raid died there, so another helicopter crash was planned in Afghanistan which the military could claim had these same members were on board—thus allowing them to explain to parents why their sons wouldn’t be coming home, but without admitting that they actually died in the bin laden raid crash. That is why the Army is claiming there was no passenger manifest—they weren’t really on board and everyone else on board died, so no one can dispute it. Slick, and very evil.

Reading or listening to the annual State of the Union address to Congress is an exercise of mental and spiritual anguish, as I work to unravel the sophisticated lies, flattery, half truths and distortions that speech writers weave into every sentence of the speech. Senator Rubio’s Republican response provided no respite. His speech was carefully crafted to focus more on the glories of the “poor working class” as he maneuvers for a future run on the presidency than it was to provide a strong rebuttal to Obama. As the gun control agenda moves into high gear—mostly in the media, the White House dirty tricks gang came up with a new propaganda stunt to make it look like the president is an avid hunter and aficionado of shotguns by taking pictures of Obama at a Camp David range shooting skeet.
Obama immediately got panned for the stunt. As one experienced skeet shooter wrote, “I know a thing or two about skeet shooting. In this sport you have beginner shooters who don’t really know what they are doing, you have amateurs that are ‘regular’ shooters who take it seriously, and you have guys and gals that shoot 25 out of 25, again and again. The following is a picture of a person who has not shot skeet before. [Widely published picture of Obama shooting a shotgun from the news] This person doesn’t know how to hold the gun properly. This person is going to get a big recoil in the arm that will hurt.
“No one has bothered to show this person how to hold a gun. This person has not been taught how to position the body to make a successful shot. This person has no chance of hitting a moving target. This person is not wearing the proper clothing for a skeet range (padded vest that has pockets for 25 shells). This person is pretending to shoot skeet.”
Yes, Obama is the pretend president in a lot of ways, but that does not stop the PTB from planning his (and his family’s) day around lots of propaganda stunts and photo shoots.
The media is really putting the pressure on to disallow future gun sales in private. NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre warned on Fox News that “‘Closing the federal loophole that allows Americans to buy guns in private transactions without having gone through a background check would be a slippery slope,’ …and suggested that President Obama and his administration would insist on taking it a step further with a so-called ‘universal background check.’ LaPierre said on Fox News Sunday, ‘I think [what] they’ll do is they’ll turn this universal check on the law-abiding into a universal registry on law-abiding people. ‘Obamacare’ , for example, ‘wasn’t a tax until they needed it to be a tax. I don’t think you can trust these people.’” Indeed.
To illustrate the untrustworthy nature of what the gun grabbers have in mind, Tad Cronn noted in Godfather Politics that “The list of specific firearms that would be banned by Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s gun-control bill is a smokescreen for a trick of language that could result in a ban on nearly all semiautomatic guns, according to a gun law expert who has reviewed the proposed legislation. Most media reports have focused on the already lengthy list of specific firearms the bill would ban, but Alan Korwin, who has written 10 books on gun laws, says the real meaning of the bill is hidden in the list of banned gun components.”
Components like a “sear” which catches the hammer in the rearward position, ready to fire again is found in virtually every semi-automatic weapon, not just assault weapons — bringing them all under the aegis of the ban.
You can bet Sen. Feinstein didn’t have anything to do with the writing of this kind of technical trap. –Approve, maybe, if she were capable of understanding what we are talking about, but the key point is that there is a dedicated team of lawyers working for the dark side of government that writes all these anti-liberty poison pills like the PATRIOT ACT, the NDAA provision on indefinite detention and this gun grabbing law—and it is done months and perhaps years before a 9/11 or a Sandy Hook style terror event is pulled off as a trigger to introduce these bills and get them passed into law.
In the current battle for gun control, the most powerful lie in the arsenal of the gun grabbers is that “they don’t intend to violate” the Second Amendment. They claim to recognize the right of self-defense with a handgun, but see no reason why someone needs an “assault rifle.”
So everyone has to be prepared to counter this argument. The first crucial argument to counter is the assertion that civilian versions of the AR-15 are assault rifles. They are not—even though they look similar. To qualify as an assault rifle, the weapon must have both either full-auto or 3-round burst capability and high-capacity, quick-change magazines. Civilian versions have the high-capacity magazines, but are not fully automatic. It’s a big difference.
So now the larger argument comes to bear: Why do civilians need military-style, semi-automatic rifles with high-capacity magazines? Certainly, not for hunting, and there are arguably better weapons for close quarters self defense. But that was never the purpose of the Second Amendment, which was written to make sure citizens had military capable weapons so they could act as a militia to deter or directly counter government tyranny.
Despite liberal commentators like Piers Morgan who refuse to admit to any dangerous or tyrannical tendency by government, that is what this fight for assault-style weapons is all about. The Armed Citizen Network provided perhaps the most complete essay on this argument, and I will include here the significant parts on “Why American Citizens Need Assault Weapons” by Mark Hayes, J.D.
“There are two main reasons and many ancillary ones why a ban on high-capacity, semi-automatic weapons is uncalled for, unnecessary and also unwise. First, we must consider the historical perspective of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The Second Amendment was added to the Constitution as an assurance that Americans will never lack the weaponry to fight against their own government, if that government becomes tyrannical.
“Remember, in the late 1780s the newly formed United States of America had just fought a bloody war against England and King George III’s tyrannical government. In order to gain support for the formation of a central government, the individual states required that the language of the Second Amendment be included in the Constitution, or they would not ratify the Constitution. Of course, the citizens of the day needed to arm themselves against tyrants with the very same weaponry used by the tyrants.
“Now, fast forward from 1780 to present day. Our current military and law enforcement agencies employ high-capacity semi-automatic handguns and AR-15 style rifles that are the very same weapons as are being targeted for a ban, if the Obama Administration has its way. In fact, most military firearms also have select fire: full auto, three-shot burst or semi-auto. This is how the M-4 rifle, which American citizens cannot own unless first paying a high tax, and in some states citizens cannot own M4s at all.
“Nevertheless, the current semi-auto weaponry is similar enough for the arming of the Militia, of which each and every able-bodied armed American is still a part (read the Heller case). We, the citizens of America, need to retain the same weaponry as our military and police to even the playing field, so that in the event of an attempt to enslave the American people, we can resist equally.
“Revolting against tyranny is the first reason Americans must retain our rights to own high capacity semi-automatic firearms. The counter-argument goes, ‘Come on, this is the year 2013. It’s not 1776.’ To which I say, ‘So what? Tyranny is not a thing of the past.’ No one will ever convince me that current day humans do not have the ability to enslave, torture and murder large groups of other humans….
“The second reason Americans need high capacity semi-automatic firearms has a more practical, immediate application in our modern society. Citizens must not be stripped of the ability to effectively counter criminal violence.

“The bank of China has had meetings with the United States government. The plan is set for China to transfer its debt into equity — own parts of the United States, manage…. It’s official. … And China wants to disarm the United States before this plan is implemented. China wants us to have no weapons.”
“It’s not a conspiracy theory. It’s a conscious plan to bankrupt the United States, a conscious plan to take away our freedoms. You get the Patriot Act coming in after 9/11. You get: now terrorism is expanding, so we’ve gotta be able to take guns away. School killings. All these fear elements end up in taking fundamental rights away from the American people — while we’re being indebted to China. And China wants the assets.”
“The Cloward–Piven theory drives this: two sociologists who had a plan they’d bankrupt New York in the ’70s with this idea — overloading welfare so capitalism crashes. You blame capitalism; you reconstruct socialism; let the Chinese come in and show us how to do it.”
“We are the drug cartels. … We are the gun runners of the world. … The federal government wants a monopoly on the weapons, so that they can put the weapons where they want them.”

Allowing China to have equity interests in U.S. energy production is a reversal of the Bush administration’s policy. In 2005, the Bush administration blocked China on grounds of national security from an $18.4 billion deal to purchase California-based Unocal Corp.
As WND reported Monday, Beijing has been developing a proposal in which real estate on American soil owned by China would be set up as “development zones” to establish Chinese-owned businesses and bring in its citizens to the U.S. to work.

World-renowned educator and human rights activist Jim Garrow says that the source, man regarded as “one of America’s foremost military heroes,” told him that President Obama is using a new litmus test for “determining who will stay and who must go” among top-ranked military leaders. That test is whether they will fire on US citizens or not. Garrow says that his source made the disclosure in order to “sound the alarm” over the administration’s plans.
While Garrow will not yet reveal the identity of the source, it’s important to note that Garrow himself is a man of considerable accomplishment. He is the founder of the Bethune Institute, which has established hundreds of schools throughout China. Three years ago, he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work though a group called Pink Pagoda, which combat “gendercide” in China — that is, the practice of rescuing baby girls who had been abandoned or targeted for infanticide because of the government’s one-child policy. Barack Obama’s bold use of executive orders to ‘take action without Congress’ amounts to an outrageous unconstitutional overreach of powers, and is impeachable action on its face. And Obama isn’t even done; he has vowed to push Congress on a new assault weapons ban along with other legislative restrictions on the guaranteed 2nd Amendment, which “shall not be infringed.”
But worse, the 23 executive orders issued today by Obama make clear that the vast medical bureaucracy centralized under ObamaCare will be used to profile and harass Americans in order to disqualify them for gun ownership based on “mental health” history.
At least 7 of the 23 executive orders relate to mental health reporting that includes “clarifying” the role of doctors and health care providers in “asking their patients about guns in the home,” reporting “threats of violence” to authorities, and screening for “mental health” will create the backbone for a “no buy” list that disbars Constitutional rights from flagged individuals without due process. At least 8 executive orders relate to new rules on background checks and weapons sales & ownership restrictions.

– He has brazenly undermined the power of Congress by insisting his authority came from the United Nations Security Council prior to the attack on Libya and that Congressional approval was not necessary. “I don’t even have to get to the Constitutional question,” said Obama. This is an act that “constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution,” according to Congressman Walter Jones.
– He has ignored Congressional rejection of the cybersecurity bill and instead indicated he will pursue an unconstitutional executive order.
– He has signed into law the National Defense Authorization Act which includes provisions that permit the abduction and military detention without trial of U.S. citizens, violating Habeas Corpus. Despite Obama claiming he would not use the provisions to incarcerate U.S. citizens, it was his administration that specifically demanded these powers be included in the final NDAA bill.
– He has enacted universal health care mandates that force Americans to buy health insurance, a clear violation of the Constitution in exceeding congressional power to regulate interstate commerce. Obama has also handed outpreferential waivers to corporations friendly to his administration.
– He has declared war on America’s coal industry by promising to bankrupt any company that attempts to build a new coal plant while using unconstitutional EPA regulations to strangle competition, ensuring Americans see their energy costs rise year after year.
– He has violated the Constitution’s Takings and Due Process Clauses when he bullied the secured creditors of automaker Chrysler into accepting 30 cents on the dollar while politically connected labor unions and preferential others received better deals.
