Below is a portion of the transcript and video of Floyd saying he can’t breathe five times while sitting in the back seat of the patrol car or when the officers are trying to get him to sit in the back seat of the car.
Floyd refused to sit in the back seat; said he wanted to lay on the ground:
“want to lay on the ground. I’m going to lay on the ground.”
Floyd couldn’t breathe because of the Fentanyl overdose, which he was blaming on Covid:
“ljust had COVID, man. can’t breathe. Ican’t breathe.”
Floyd also lied when the officer asked if he was on some drugs or substance. Had Floyd told the truth about the drugs he had injested, the police would have known to treat him differently.
Officer: “..are you on something right now?”
Floyd: “No, nothing.”
