Ron Paul: This is Wall Street in big trouble & sucking in & dumping all the bills on Main Street

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI4tVPXlQsM]

From: L.A. Times Blog

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) may no longer be running for president, but that doesn’t mean he slunk away quietly and is simply tending to his re-election bid (though there may not be much to do, since he’s running unopposed).

The free-market, small-government libertarian had plenty of harsh words about the Bush administration’s proposed Wall Street bailout plan when he appeared on CNN’s “Late Edition” today.

WOLF BLITZER (“Late Edition” host): What do you say to the president who wants you and your fellow Republicans and Democrats to quickly pass this $700 billion bailout package?

PAUL: Well, I think that’s a mistake because we don’t have the money. But that doesn’t mean you have to do nothing. I mean, we could reform the system. We could return to sound money. We could balance our budget. We could change our foreign policy. We could take care of our people at home. We could lower taxes.

There’s a lot of things that we can do. But the worst thing that we can do is perpetuate the bad policies that gave us this trouble in the first place, and that is that we no longer, over the last quite a few decades, believed in free-market capitalism. Capital is supposed to come from savings. We’re supposed to work hard and save.

As a matter of fact, the Chinese work hard, right now, and they save, and they’re buying up the world. But we borrow and spend and consume, and now it’s caught up to us and it’s undermining our whole system. … So this $700 billion is not going to do it.

This is Wall Street in big trouble and sucking in Main Street, now, and dumping all the bills on Main Street. … And you can’t solve the problem of inflation, which is the creation of money and credit out of thin air, by more money and credit out of thin air, and not changing policy. We have to change basic policy.

“Yes, it would be painful, but it wouldn’t last so long. What they’re doing now, they’re propping up a failed system so the agony lasts longer. They’re doing exactly what we did in the Depression.”

Return of the Nephilim – Chuck Missler

What’s behind the UFO’s? Are they real? Where are they from? Are they the Nephilim of ages past? What does the Bible say about them? What’s their agenda for Planet Earth?

Genesis 6 (King James Version)

6 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.

19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.

20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.

21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.

22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

My theory on the Nephilim: When God told the Children of Israel to kill every man, woman and child in Canaan (the giants), there was this Genesis-6, demon-contaminated genetic problem again? Brzezinski: Obama’s Globalist “Rasputin”

From: News with Views

Zbigniew Brzezinski is Barack Obama’s foreign policy advisor. Brzezenski was the national security advisor for President Carter from 1977 to 1981. In 1988 he endorsed HW Bush for President and was Co-Chair of the HW Bush national security advisory task force. From 1987 to 1989 he also served on the HW Bush’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board. Clinton Secretary of State Madeline Albright was a student of Brzezenski.. GW Bush Secretary of State, Condi Rice (also a former national security advisor), who studied under Albright’s father, shares many of the same world government views with Brzezinski and Albright.

Zbigniew Brzezinski is an advocate of socialist world government, a goal he has promoted as a member of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and as a speaker at former Soviet Premier and Communist Mikhail Gorbachev’s first World Forum. Brzezinski is an architect of creating regions of global governance from independent nations to achieve world government. At the World Forum Brzezenski described the global regions that are now being put into place under Condi Rice: Israel and the Palestinians (now MEFTA, Middle East Free Trade Association), Iran as part of a Central Asian region, and China as part of a Far Eastern region. As a member of CSIS Brzezinski has guided their efforts to publish the North American Integration Monitor (2002) that calls for the loss of US sovereignty to a North American Union (NAU) as one of the regional global government blocks.

The proposals for global taxes by Obama have come with the recommendations of Zbigniew Brzezinski to pay for globalization and world government. Obama has proposed a global poverty tax in a US Senate bill.

The Red White and Blue Roots of Terrorism

From: Counter Currents

As far as I know, nobody has focused upon the real roots of the war on terror, which are also the solution to it—American-sponsored terrorism. Paid military extremist types, trained by us to carry-out attack missions upon civilians are terrorists, our terrorists. They attack civilians, often women and children, as an indirect method of warfare, to topple governments who oppose American expansion. Has anybody questioned what military challenge the world would face today, if the US suddenly stopped all of these covert programs that perpetrate most of the world’s “terrorism”?

If the CIA/Mossad simply stopped training, arming, financing and transporting the (mostly Islamic) fighters/mercenaries all over the world (as it has been deeply in the business of doing for the past thirty or more years), would world peace then break-out? If our government was not in the business of killing the people whose relatives then make war against American and allied forces, would our soldiers be fighting anywhere in the world? …

The most vital example of American state terrorism being translated into war and regime change is Pakistan, which is also currently the hottest spot in the government plan to ignite world war. It is here where you can clearly see the circular logic that fuels the terror war. American-funded “Islamists” are destabilizing Pakistan to justify American intervention to seize Pakistani nukes before the American-funded “Islamists” can get their hands on them.

Joan Veon: America Being Reduced to Third World Status

From: News with Views

For more than a week the news media has been a buzz, clamoring for the need to change our regulatory system. The passage, by Congress, of “The Treasury Blueprint for a Modernized Financial Regulatory System,” will hand over to the Federal Reserve the last vestiges of our financial sovereignty: savings and loans; state chartered banks; thrifts and credit unions; the entire mortgage and insurance systems, as well as oversight of the Payment and Settlement System of Wall Street. In addition, the Feds would gain oversee rights to all of America’s financial markets. (Read “The Treasury Blueprint for a Modernized Financial Regulatory Structure,”).

Most Americans can’t fathom what is really happening. How could something like this happen in America? How did people who lived through the 1929 Crash and Great Depression manage when everything they knew changed overnight? The answer is: they were not in debt the way Americans are today. Multi-generations lived together, all working to pay off the mortgage. Additionally, a great many families lived on farms where they could raise their own food. Today, we are dependent on large banks for our mortgage and debt and big grocery stores for our food rather than our own farm.

We know from various historians that when the stock market crashed in 1929, the Federal Reserve was at fault because they did not put liquidity into the system but took it out, thus exacerbating the Crash and causing the Great Depression. In response, on the day he was sworn in, newly elected President Franklin D. Roosevelt took control of all private ownership of gold when he closed the banks down. He also instituted a number of socialistic measures to put Americans to work with infrastructure projects. Today, the Federal Reserve is putting billions of newly printed dollars into the American and global financial system which will increase the interest on the debt that Americans owe to the Federal Reserve. We have no idea, at this time, what that will do to our purchasing power, but you can be sure that it will drop. In fact, the value of the dollar could drop so low that we will have to merge our currency with Canada, Mexico, and the other countries of this hemisphere, or even forego the proposed Amero for the Special Drawing Right-SDR, a basket of five currencies: …

As I have written before, our entire economy and all of our assets are in the process of being transferred to the Federal Reserve, who now appears to be running the United States of America. We have had a bloodless coup by a very, very powerful group of ruthless men who not only control the United States of America but in unity, control the world in conjunction with all of the other central banks. Furthermore, they have united to intervene in global markets. …

For America, it began in 1913 when those who opposed a central bank went home for Christmas.

Racial Prejudice, *Alone*, Steer Many Away from Obama

I won’t vote for Barack Obama, but not because of the color of his skin. I would enthusiastically support a black Presidential candidate who isn’t beholden to the powers that be.

Actually, Cynthia McKinney doesn’t have any globalist handlers who control her, that I can tell. But Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party is a candidate that I can totally trust to lead this nation correctly.

– jeff

From: AP

Deep-seated racial misgivings could cost Barack Obama the White House if the election is close, according to an AP-Yahoo News poll that found one-third of white Democrats harbor negative views toward blacks — many calling them “lazy,” “violent” or responsible for their own troubles.

The poll suggests that the percentage of voters who may turn away from Obama because of his race could easily be larger than the final difference between the candidates in 2004 — about 2½ percentage points.

Certainly, Republican John McCain has his own obstacles:

He’s an ally of an unpopular president and would be the nation’s oldest first-term president. But Obama faces this: 40 percent of all white Americans hold at least a partly negative view toward blacks, and that includes many Democrats and independents.

John Mayer: Just Keep Me Where the LIGHT Is … to Walk On Through

Austin City Limits, 2007

“Gravity has taken better men than me.
Oh my, how can that be?

Just keep me where the light is;
keep me where—where the light is ….

And if I should happen to confront the darkness,
which I’m sure by now I will—
let me have the power in me
to walk on through
, to hold it still.

Don’t let me fall from grace
just to feel the wind, the wind upon my face.
Teach me that the peace
is all a happy man will ever need.

Oh just keep me where,
— –  –keep me where,
—-     – —keep me where,
——         ——keep me where
——         –   ———the light is

oh where the light is.

Keep me where the light is.
Oh let me sing this prayer.

Oh where the light is!

Chuck Baldwin: A Salute To Our U.S. Constitution

From: News with Views, September 17, 2008

On this date in 1787, the U.S. Constitution was adopted. 39 delegates from 12 of the 13 colonies (Rhode Island did not send a representative) affixed their signatures to the greatest civil document ever conceived by men. Famous patriots such as George Washington, Roger Sherman, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, Robert Morris, Gouverneur Morris, James Madison, George Clymer, and Abraham Baldwin were among this gallant group.

Under divine Providence, it has been allegiance to the Constitution that has preserved our liberties and protected our very way of life. Most of the problems, failings, and frustrations that plague our nation today are due to the propensity of our civil magistrates to ignore or blatantly abuse constitutional government. Accordingly, fidelity to the Constitution would likely repair most of the damage done by this neglect.

It is the responsibility of a free people to jealously guard the principles upon which their liberties are predicated.

Jack McLamb: Voting for the ‘Lesser of Evils’

“We can vote and stand before God one day,
and not have to stand before God and say:
‘Well, God, I voted for the lesser of two evils.’

And God’s going to look you in the face, folks, and say:
‘But you still voted for evil.’

And you’ll have to admit that you did.

And God doesn’t put up with that, folks—
you voting for the lesser of two evils.

It’s still absolute evil,
Satanic evil.”

A Review of David Ray Griffin’s book, “The New Pearl Harbor Revisited: The Definitive Treatment of 9/11”

From: Global Research

In THE NEW PEARL HARBOR REVISITED, David Ray Griffin provides a brilliant and much-needed companion to his path-breaking and movement-building book on 9/11, The New Pearl Harbor (NPH; 2004). Now, on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of those horrific events, Griffin surveys in detail all the main lines of evidence against the official account of 9/11 to have emerged during the last four years. THE NEW PEARL HARBOR REVISITED (NPHR) has been designed as volume 2 of a two-volume set with NPH as volume 1; together they provide a thorough and up-to-date case against the official conspiracy theory (they can be bought separately, of course).

Griffin has already published four other books that provide in-depth analysis of most of the evidence to have emerged since 2004. NPHR’s main purpose is to provide an easily accessible survey of all of the new evidence, so that it is now possible for a beginner to the subject (including journalists and members of Congress) to master its enormous complexity simply by reading two books. NPHR is structured identically to NPH; each chapter in NPHR comments and builds on the corresponding chapter in NPH. Much of the content is entirely new; there are many facts and analyses in NPHR which Griffin presents for the first time, and which literally make the book an up-to-the-minute statement of the case.

McCain: “The Fundamentals of Economy are Strong” | Obama: “The Most Serious Financial Crisis Since the Great Depression”

From: Democracy Now!

McCain: Fundamentals of Economy Remain Strong

On the campaign trail, Senator John McCain said that the fundamentals of the economy remain strong.

Sen. John McCain: “You know that there’s been tremendous turmoil in our financial markets and Wall Street. And it is—people are frightened by these events. Our economy, I think, still, the fundamentals of our economy are strong, but these are very, very difficult time. And I promise you we will never put America in this position again. We will clean up Wall street. We will reform government. And this is a failure.”

Senator Barack Obama accused McCain of subscribing to the same economic philosophy as President Bush.

Sen. Barack Obama: “For eight years, we’ve had policies that have shredded consumer protections, that have loosened oversight and regulation and encouraged out-sized bonuses to CEO’s while ignoring middle-class Americans. The result is the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression. And I certainly don’t fault Senator John McCain for these problems, but I do fault the economic philosophy he subscribes to, because it’s the same philosophy we’ve had for the last eight years.”

Bob Chapman: Illuminati Temporarily Propping Up Economy to Fool Americans Into Electing McCain

From: The International Forecaster, 9/13/08

“By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes.” This line from Shakespeare’s play, “Macbeth,” comes to mind when we consider the future of America as we watch our government continue to take on debt after debt after inane debt, heaping more and more responsibility for the financial obtuseness of its privileged elite on its hapless peon taxpayers, profligately spending, borrowing, bailing out and inflating us into some sort of nightmarish, moral hazard oblivion. Welcome to our new Banana Republic, a country that is now characterized by nonstop hyperinflation, bailouts and moral hazard – and which will soon decline into another Great Depression. The nationalization of Fannie and Freddie has set us on a path from which there can be no return, carving out for us a much wider and deeper swath of financial death and destruction of a magnitude never dreamed of by even the most pessimistic among us. Our economy is now in a temporary state of suspended animation by use of an economic act of smoke and mirrors, with the Sword of Damocles waiting overhead, waiting to chop us into tiny pieces. The implications are dire. And worse yet, this has all been planned for a while now, having been decided by the Illuminati soon after they watched their precious system burn to the ground right before their eyes a year ago in August. Hence, you heard Goldman Sachs pronounce late last year: “Short Gold for 2008.” They knew this was coming last year, because these evil reprobates planned it to happen that way. They knew the jig was up when their subprime plot was exposed by analyst Meredith Whitney of Oppenheimer & Co. They knew the implosion of Fannie and Freddie would happen eventually when the fraudulent mortgages started to go bad, but it happened far sooner than they had wanted or expected, and caught them with their pants down. So, what was supposed to be a future plan to merge our mortgage lending system into their growing corporatist, fascist, financial structure, was moved from the back burner to the front burner, and now you all see the results in spades.

What we may be witnessing here is a combination of internecine warfare between American and European branches of the Illuminati, mixed in with financial warfare between countries that are not yet totally owned and controlled by the Illuminati, like China and Russia, and those countries which are under the Illuminist yoke, like the US, Canada, Europe and Japan. Note that the Middle East countries like to play both ends to the middle, by pitting the Europeans against the Americans, or Illuminist dominated nations against non-Illuminist nations, which often adds clouds of confusion to events going down on the international front. …

So the Illuminati have been forced by these circumstances to re-strengthen the dollar, and to bail out the GSE bondholders. They made the other nations wait until the time was right, meaning that they wanted to implement this appeasement at a time of their choosing, the objective being to make America look strong economically right before elections to keep their incumbent henchmen in power. They also managed to wedge in an oil/food/commodity profit extravaganza for the tanking fraudsters along the way, with a nice little temporary trade deficit reduction thrown in for good measure via the weakened dollar. Hence, just before elections, the dollar has been pushed up, and the GSE’s have been nationalized.

Chuck Baldwin: Sarah Palin’s Answers—Very Troubling

From: News with Views

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin gave her first exclusive interview as John McCain’s Vice Presidential running mate to ABC’s Charles Gibson last week. Her answers were very troubling, especially to those of us who believe in constitutional government. On foreign policy, especially, Palin reveals herself to be just another neocon; one who would enthusiastically promote Bush’s preemptive war doctrine.

Speaking of the Bush doctrine, it was extremely enlightening that Sarah Palin demonstrated surprising ignorance as to what the Bush Doctrine is. Gibson asked: “Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?” Palin’s response: “In what respect, Charlie?” Continued questions revealed that Sarah Palin was totally ignorant of the Bush doctrine.

When Gibson properly defined the Bush doctrine as being the determination of President Bush to unilaterally, preemptively launch anticipatory military attacks and invasions against foreign countries (without a Declaration of War from Congress, I might add), Palin said the President “has the obligation, the duty” to launch such attacks. No wonder John McCain likes her so much.

Palin went on to make further statements that must have made John McCain proud. When asked if she would be willing to take America to war with Russia in order to defend Georgia, she responded by saying, “Perhaps so.”

Egad! Do John McCain and Sarah Palin envision–even desire–war with Russia? John McCain is already on record as supporting sending troops to Georgia; now Sarah Palin suggests that even war with Russia is a possibility. Over what? Has Russia deployed troops along our borders? Has Russia threatened to invade the United States? Are McCain and Palin truly willing to launch a war with a nation that has thousands of ICBMs in its nuclear arsenal, when our own security has not been threatened? And just how many other countries are McCain and Palin willing to defend with American toil and blood? All of Europe? …

Many people familiar with John McCain have tried to warn the American people about the warmongering, hot-tempered senator. To quote one of McCain’s fellow POWs, Phillip Butler (who was a POW for 8 years, 2 1/2 years longer than McCain), “I can verify that John [McCain] has an infamous reputation for being a hot head. He has a quick and explosive temper that many have experienced first hand. Folks, quite honestly, that is not the finger I want next to that red button.” …

Skousen: Ron Paul Condemns the Two Party System

World Affairs Brief, September 12, 2008. Commentary and Insights on a Troubled World.

Copyright Joel Skousen. Partial quotations with attribution permitted. Cite source as Joel Skousen’s World Affairs Brief.

RON PAUL CONDEMNS THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM:

Ron Paul held his much anticipated news conference Wednesday at the National Press Club. He called the presidential elections a charade and said voters should reject the pressure to vote for the “lesser of two evils.” Realistically, however, it is the structure of our electoral system which requires a full majority in any primary or election that guarantees a two party system. Until that is changed (there are a variety of ways to do this, such as allowing minority of voters nationwide to pool their votes for an “at large” candidate for Congress) the system will always discriminate against third parties–unless dissatisfaction gets so strong that a third party can fully oust one of the majors.

Paul correctly says that 60 percent of Americans are unhappy with their choices in the race, and he urged listeners to vote for one of the third party candidates and vote against the “establishment candidates.” He appeared at his news conference with only three of the third-party candidates: independent Ralph Nader; former Georgia Democratic Rep. Cynthia McKinney, the Green Party candidate; and Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate. Incredibly and stupidly, Bob Barr, the Libertarian candidate, decided to snub the event and hold his own press conference. I’ve never trusted Barr, being former CIA, and having been guilty of some major moral transgression.

While I applaud Ron for throwing his support behind the Third Party movement, I believe it would have been much more effective for him to endorse one Third Party candidates directly. Before Paul’s convention and statement supporting third parties, almost all Paul supporters would have split their votes mostly among the Libertarian and Constitution Party. Paul’s announcement failed to change any of that or give any one of the parties the attention getting boost necessary to grab the headlines.

The McCain campaign worries that Paul could have drawn votes away from him in November, but Paul’s chances of acting as a spoiler are now markedly diminished. It is telling that Ron Paul was pressured by former Senator Phil Gramm on behalf of the McCain campaign to endorse McCain. That takes real audacity given how the GOP treated Ron Paul delegates,. Paul correctly told Gramm he would never endorse John McCain, on principle. How rare it is to find a man of principle in politics like Ron Paul.

Goodbye-to-Our-Job? Party Photos

A co-worker and friend just posted four photos I took this summer during the “Goodbye to [our airline]” party, held at one of the Non-Revs, band members’ homes. One of these guys is actually my immediate boss.

There is a glimmer of hope that the ship that some of us have sailed on for decades won’t go down, but it doesn’t look good. Some are already bailing out.

Yikes! Ouch! If only we would have known sooner, etc….. We remember the pre, overreaction-to-9/11, good ole days for the airline business all too well. Once, in 1980, I was the only passenger on a flight.

At least most of us have learned to get along really well. It’s been a valuable experience, and many of us have been able to see much of the world.

May we always be friends no matter what happens.

Devvy Kidd: Palin is in full lock step with warmonger, McCain, cheering on the clever marketing slogan (“surge”). But in reality, Bush invaded a non-threatening country and destroyed it!

From: News with Views

Palin’s oldest son is set to deploy to Iraq. As a mother, Mrs. Palin is very proud of her son. However, Palin is in full lock step with war monger, McCain, cheering on the clever marketing slogan (“surge”) when nothing could be further from the truth. American forces under Bush invaded a non-threatening country and destroyed it, killing tens of thousands of civilians and causing millions to be displaced from their homes and lives based on lies. These are facts that cannot be denied.

Sarah Palin’s support of our continuing occupation of Iraq in my book makes her completely unqualified for either VP or president. For her to support the continuation of our troops in either Afghanistan or Iraq clearly shows me she’s a player on the wrong side. I was appalled when I read “…said the war in Iraq was ‘a task from God.’

Sarah Palin Talks Lightly About Nuclear War

From: InfoWars

Sarah Palin is now officially the poster child for the insanity of the neocons. Interviewed by ABC News, the vice presidential candidate said war with Russia is a possibility. “We have to keep our eyes on Russia, under the leadership there,” she averred. “I mean, that is the agreement when you are a NATO ally. If another country is attacked, you’re going to be expected to be called upon and help…. For Russia to have exerted such pressure in terms of invading a smaller, democratic country, unprovoked, is unacceptable.”

Palin is wrong on all counts. First, Georgia is not a member of NATO and is not likely to become so, mostly because the Europeans are more sane than the American neocons, primarily because they live next door to Russia. Second, Russia did not invade Georgia, Russia defended South Ossetia from an attack launched by Georgia. In its defensive action, Russia took out Georgia’s military capacity and that necessitated going into Georgia proper. Third, Georgia is not a democracy as should be apparent when one looks at Saakashvili’s reaction to opposition protesters last year — he responded with tear gas, water cannons, rubber bullets, and a “state of emergency,” that is to say martial law. Of course, in Bushzarro world, a government installed by NED and Soros is considered a democracy — and black is white and up is down.

Cheney trekked to Ukraine last week to tell Yushchenko and his color revolution installed gang that the U.S. will support their effort to get into NATO, never mind this is unpopular in the country. “It is obvious that so far the majority of people in Ukraine is opposed to NATO membership and wants it to remain neutral,” reports Ilya Kramnik for RIA Novosti. …

As Paul Craig Roberts notes, the neocons are determined to have a war with Russia. “The Committee on the Present Danger regarded the neocons as crazy people who would get America into a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. The neocons hated President Reagan, because he ended the cold war with diplomacy, when they desired a military victory over the Soviet Union,” writes Roberts.

The Republicans will get us into more wars. Indeed, they live for war. McCain is preaching war for 100 years. For these warmongers, it is like cheering for your home team. Win at all costs. They get a vicarious pleasure out of war [“This is Satanic” – editor]. If the US has to tell lies in order to attack countries, what’s wrong with that? “If we don’t kill them over there, they will kill us over here.”

Skousen: The Real Sarah Palin Emerges — A Bit Too Ambitious To Be Principled

THE REAL SARAH PALIN EMERGES: A BIT TOO AMBITIOUS TO BE PRINCIPLED

Last week I compared Sarah Palin to a sincere but naive Christian in a den of Lions. This week I’ve revised my assessment to a more negative and realistic stance: Palin has the same kind of raw ambition that plagues Mitt Romney–wanting to get elected and advance so badly that they are willing to compromise on a wide range of principles–including some honesty. According to the Anchorage Daily News some of the things McCain’s VP candidate told the GOP convention were not quite true:

On Alaska Oil Pipeline: “Palin implies that construction has begun on a major natural gas pipeline from the top of Alaska into Canada. That is not correct. In fact, no building has begun and actual construction is years away, if it ever happens. This summer the Alaska Legislature, at Palin’s request, passed a bill under which the state will issue a “license” to a Canadian energy company, TransCanada Corp., and pay it up to $500 million as an incentive to someday build this enormous project, which Alaska politicians have long sought with little success. The license is not a construction contract, and federal energy regulators have not yet approved the project. Palin also puts the price tag for the project at $40 billion, an exaggeration. This is roughly $10 billion more than most cost estimates industry players and consultants have made to date.”

On wasteful legislative earmarks and her opposition to Sen. Steven’s Bridge to Nowhere: “As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation, although she has cut, by more than half, the amount the state sought from Washington this year. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to Gravina Island, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a ‘bridge to nowhere.'”

It has also been brought to my attention that Gov. Palin is part of a coalition of governors supporting Canamex, the NAFTA
superhighway for the North Coast. She also supported the REAL ID act for Alaska-a very serious mistake for state rights and citizen privacy.

Perhaps the most candid and balanced criticism of Sarah Palin came from Wasilla resident Anne Kilkenny, as published by the Online Journal. Here are some excerpts I found enlightening. They seem to paint a picture of a women that is pretty aggressive, who shifts positions for political advantage, and borders upon being a ruthless player who holds no loyalty to anyone who has helped her but may differ with her in even small ways. She does not seem to be highly principled except on a view high profile issues like abortion and gun rights. This helps explain why she, as an avowed Christian evangelical, would join a den of globalists like the McCain campaign.

“She is enormously popular; It is astonishing and almost scary how well she can keep a secret. She kept her most recent pregnancy a secret from her children and parents for seven months. She is ‘pro-life.’ She recently gave birth to a Down’s syndrome baby. There is no cover-up involved, here; Trig is her baby.

“She is energetic and hardworking. She regularly worked out at the gym. She is savvy. She doesn’t take positions; she just ‘puts things out there’ and if they prove to be popular, then she takes credit. Her experience is as mayor of a city with a population of about 5,000 (at the time), and less than 2 years as governor of a state with about 670,000 residents. During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running this small city was turned over to an administrator. She had been pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had given rise to a recall campaign.”

She is not a fiscal conservative. “Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a ‘fiscal conservative.’ During her 6 years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over 33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation (1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she promoted benefitted large corporate property owners way more than they benefitted residents. The huge increases in tax revenues during her mayoral administration weren’t enough to fund everything on her wish list though borrowed money was needed, too. She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it with indebtedness of over $22 million.

Palin: “This war against extreme Islamic terrorists is the RIGHT THING”

From: ABC News

The following excerpts are from the ABC News exclusive interview with Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in Fairbanks, Alaska, conducted by “World News” anchor Charlie Gibson on September 11, 2008

Sarah Palin on God:

GIBSON: You said recently, in your old church, “Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God.” Are we fighting a holy war?

PALIN: You know, I don’t know if that was my exact quote.

GIBSON: Exact words.

PALIN: But the reference there is a repeat of Abraham Lincoln’s words when he said — first, he suggested never presume to know what God’s will is, and I would never presume to know God’s will or to speak God’s words.

But what Abraham Lincoln had said, and that’s a repeat in my comments, was let us not pray that God is on our side in a war or any other time, but let us pray that we are on God’s side.

That’s what that comment was all about, Charlie. And I do believe, though, that this war against extreme Islamic terrorists is the right thing. It’s an unfortunate thing, because war is hell and I hate war, and, Charlie, today is the day that I send my first born, my son, my teenage son overseas with his Stryker brigade, 4,000 other wonderful American men and women, to fight for our country, for democracy, for our freedoms.

Charlie, those are freedoms that too many of us just take for granted. I hate war and I want to see war ended. We end war when we see victory, and we do see victory in sight in Iraq.

Sarah Palin on ‘the Bush Doctrine’:

[…]

GIBSON: The Bush doctrine, as I understand it, is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense, that we have the right to a preemptive strike against any other country that we think is going to attack us. Do you agree with that?

PALIN: I agree that a president’s job, when they swear in their oath to uphold our Constitution, their top priority is to defend the United States of America.

I know that John McCain will do that and I, as his vice president, families we are blessed with that vote of the American people and are elected to serve and are sworn in on January 20, that will be our top priority is to defend the American people.

GIBSON: Do we have a right to anticipatory self-defense? Do we have a right to make a preemptive strike again another country if we feel that country might strike us?

PALIN: Charlie, if there is legitimate and enough intelligence that tells us that a strike is imminent against American people [which wasn’t true in Iraq; isn’t true of Iran; & the hijackers were mostly from Saudi Arabia, not Afghanistan – editor], we have every right to defend our country. In fact, the president has the obligation, the duty to defend.

GIBSON: Do we have the right to be making cross-border attacks into Pakistan from Afghanistan, with or without the approval of the Pakistani government?

PALIN: Now, as for our right to invade, we’re going to work with these countries, building new relationships, working with existing allies, but forging new, also, in order to, Charlie, get to a point in this world where war is not going to be a first option. In fact, war has got to be, a military strike, a last option.

GIBSON: But, Governor, I’m asking you: We have the right, in your mind, to go across the border with or without the approval of the Pakistani government.

PALIN: In order to stop Islamic extremists, those terrorists who would seek to destroy America and our allies, we must do whatever it takes and we must not blink, Charlie, in making those tough decisions of where we go and even who we target.

GIBSON: And let me finish with this. I got lost in a blizzard of words there. Is that a yes? That you think we have the right to go across the border with or without the approval of the Pakistani government, to go after terrorists who are in the Waziristan area?

PALIN: I believe that America has to exercise all options in order to stop the terrorists who are hell bent on destroying America and our allies. We have got to have all options out there on the table.
