ANCHORAGE, ALASKA—The Ron Paul 2008 Alaska presidential campaign invites Anchorage-area gun owners to a gun rights town hall meeting on Tuesday, January 29 at 7:00 p.m. The Q&A session will be held at the Ron Paul 2008 Alaska State Headquarters in Anchorage at 3339 Fairbanks St., near 34th and Old Seward, behind the Moose’s Tooth.
“Congressman Paul is the leading advocate for gun owners and their rights in the presidential race,” said Paul Alaska state political director Craig Bergman. “He is the only presidential candidate truly fighting for the Second Amendment rights of Alaskans, and he will continue to fight against unconstitutional federal intervention in the rights of gun owners as President.”
Ten-term Texas Congressman and Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul is the only pro-gun, pro-Constitution presidential candidate, and his record on Second Amendment rights is unparalleled. In the House of Representatives, Congressman Paul has led the fight to restore Second Amendment rights to all Americans, introduced legislation to repeal the “Gun Free Zone” victim disarmament law and National “Instant Background Check” gun registration bills, opposed gun control projects that would force registration of all private sales, introduced legislation to protect American’s rights to carry guns in national parks, and is currently fighting for the rights of US veterans to own guns without government interference.
Congressman Paul’s Alaska campaign is building on the heels of his second-place finishes in the Nevada and Louisiana caucuses. He is the only Republican presidential candidate actively campaigning in Alaska, with 2 offices, 11 field staffers, and 40 district chairs operating statewide.
Congressman Paul is also the highest-polling Republican presidential candidate in Alaska. In December’s KTUU presidential preference poll, Ron Paul placed first with 29 percent of the vote.
The Alaska Republican presidential primary vote will take place on February 5, 2008.

Why Are Ron Paul’s Supporters So Angry?
[…]
In addition, I can even understand whatever anger and exasperation Ron Paul’s supporters feel regarding my fellow evangelical believers. Today’s Christians–and especially our pastors–have become little more than toadies for the establishment elite. They apparently have never read our U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence, or Bill of Rights. They are seemingly oblivious to our great American history and heritage. They seem to lack the most elementary understanding of even the most basic American principles.
For example, it makes absolutely no sense that Christian pastors would embrace the sudden pro-life candidacy of Mitt Romney and reject the proven, twenty-year pro-life record of Ron Paul. It makes no sense that evangelical Christians would embrace the pro-illegal amnesty, pro-McCain/Feingold, pro-No-Child-Left-Behind, pro-gun control John McCain and reject the proven, twenty-year no-amnesty, pro-freedom, anti-No-Child-Left-Behind, pro-Second Amendment record of Ron Paul. It makes absolutely no sense that Christians would fall for Mr. Big Government himself, Mike Huckabee, and reject the champion of limited government, Ron Paul.
Beyond that, how is it that pastors and evangelicals cannot see through the GOP’s complicity in helping to establish a Luciferian New World Order? How can they be so blind and dumb regarding the global machinations of the Council on Foreign Relations? How can they not understand and reject the philosophy emanating from the Trilateral Commission and Bilderburgers?
Ask the average pastor and Christian about the CFR, the Trilateralists, or the Bilderburgers and they just stare into space. They are absolutely clueless. Ask them about the burgeoning NAFTA superhighway, North American Union, or Amero and they look stupefied. Again, they are absolutely clueless. And, yes, I am angry about it. I am saddened and angered at the lack of knowledge, perception, and discernment demonstrated by my Christian brethren.
I believe with all my heart that if the pastors and Christian people of America would come off their high horse and start supporting the principles of liberty, the U.S. Constitution, and limited government, not only would there be a rebirth of freedom in America, there would be a spiritual revival as well.
As it is, freedom-loving people cannot see past the ignorance, elitism, and partisan phoniness of modern Christians in order that they might see Christ. The Scripture plainly says, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (II Corinthians 3:17)
When America’s Colonial preachers and Christian people fought for liberty and independence, God gave us two Great Awakenings. I believe another Great Revival would come to America, if our Christians and pastors would stand on their hind legs and once again fight for liberty and independence. And, yes, I am also angry that they will not do that either.

In the face of this week’s market meltdown—which has been called the worst financial crisis since WWII—the current crop of U.S. presidential candidates are preaching a hodgepodge of trite economic boosterism and disastrous governmental intervention. Unsurprisingly, the elephant in the room is Ron Paul, the political leper of anointed establishment politics, who just happens to have a massive, growing, devoted following capable of breaking fundraising records in support of him, and who has real plans to avert the global depression which is almost certainly on the way.
Romney has praised the Federal Reserve’s panic cut in the federal funds rate by 75 basis points. The cut, however, has earned round condemnation from most delegates to the World Economic Forum, who fear the move is prolonging the inevitable correction of an over-inflated marketplace.
Obama believes the severe economic woes—the symptom of hundreds of trillions of dollars of under-regulated high-risk financial instruments known as derivatives, a fiat currency, and the staggering debt and deficit the federal government is creating in foreign adventurism—can be solved by “saying to banks that they have to invest in their communities.”
McCain has been shamelessly trumpeting the old political hogwash that despite the crashing market, spiraling currency and signs of crisis in some of the largest institutional lenders in the country, “the fundamental underpinnings of our economy are strong.”
All agree that Bush’s harebrained scheme to increase inflation by printing money and handing it out in rebate cheques—a scheme with questionable short-term benefits and no long-term benefits—is a great idea.
All, that is, except for Paul. Paul has spoken and written at length about the inflation tax, ….

We ought to make sure that the terrorists — (applause) — and there’s no question but that in a setting like that where you have a ticking bomb that the president of the United States — not the CIA interrogator, the president of the United States — has to make the call. And enhanced interrogation techniques have to be used — not torture but enhanced interrogation techniques, yes.

The group Vietnam Veterans Against McCain attacks Senator John McCain’s heroism as a POW in the Vietnam conflict; this is making some waves in the news due to McCain’s presidential candidacy. The documentary “Missing, Presumed Dead the Search for America’s POWs” however focuses more on Senator John McCain successfully blocking the release of classified POW/MIA documents. Here is an excerpt from that documentary.

… Since joining the Army in 1987, he [Donald Buswell] had risen to the rank of sergeant first class, serving in both Gulf Wars, Bosnia, Rwanda, and Korea. He ended up with shrapnel scars and a Purple Heart and, back in the U.S. after his last tour in Iraq, a job as intelligence analyst at Fort Sam Houston.
He couldn’t have foreseen that one e-mail could derail his career and put him on his way out of the Army. One e-mail, speculating about events that millions of people have questioned for the last six years, was all it took…
Sgt. Buswell wants to know: What really happened on 9/11? And he said so in his e-mail. In the few paragraphs of that August 2006 message — a reply not to someone outside the service, but to other soldiers….
January 26, 2008 — Republican White House hopeful Ron Paul has made shining some light on the secretive President’s Working Group on Financial Markets – better known as the “Plunge Protection Team” – his pet cause.
The Texas congressman brought up the issue at Thursday night’s Republican debate in Florida. Paul asked candidate John McCain whether he would keep the Working Group and if the Arizona senator would open it up in order for the public to see how it works. …
On Wednesday, Paul indicated that the Working Group may have had something to do with that day’s nearly 300-point stock market rally.

The Wall Street Journal has agreed to publish a full-page ad in which the Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee charges the U.S. government surreptitiously utilizes gold reserves to engage in international swaps and other market manipulations.
“Anybody Seen Our Gold?” is the title of the ad, which alleges U.S. gold reserves held at depositories such as Fort Knox and West Point may have been seriously depleted. GATA asserts U.S. gold reserves are being shipped overseas to settle complex transactions utilized by the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury to suppress the price of the precious metal.
“The objective of this manipulation is to conceal the mismanagement of the U.S. dollar so that it might retain its function as the world’s reserve currency,” the ad copy reads in a pre-publication version GATA provided to WND.

“The powers of financial capitalism had a far-reaching plan, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole…Their secret is that they have annexed from governments, monarchies, and republics the power to create the world’s money…”
THE MONEY MASTERS is a 3 1/2 hour non-fiction, historical documentary that traces the origins of the political power structure that rules our nation and the world today. The modern political power structure has its roots in the hidden manipulation and accumulation of gold and other forms of money. The development of fractional reserve banking practices in the 17th century brought to a cunning sophistication the secret techniques initially used by goldsmiths fraudulently to accumulate wealth. With the formation of the privately-owned Bank of England in 1694, the yoke of economic slavery to a privately-owned “central” bank was first forced upon the backs of an entire nation, not removed but only made heavier with the passing of the three centuries to our day. Nation after nation, including America, has fallen prey to this cabal of international central bankers.

BAILING OUT THE ECONOMY: HOW LONG CAN THEY KEEP DOING THIS?
If there was any doubt about the Fed’s willingness to flood the world with money in order to keep the existing economic order from collapsing, those doubts should now be completely put to rest. The financial Powers That Be (PTB) show no signs of allowing a real depression, let alone a collapse. Whether or not they can still pull it off is another question, but I think they will–their ability to keep manipulating the system continues to amaze me. They don’t, however, intend to do this indefinitely–and can’t. They only have to keep this debt system afloat until the next world war can wipe the slate clean–which may be still 5-10 years in the future. Who would have thought they could turn around the massive world bear market in stocks on Tuesday after Monday’s precipitous decline in world markets? But they did and the flood gates of fiat money are wide open. The only thing surprising in all this is that the PTB appear to be able to shovel money out the door and the dollar still hasn’t collapsed as it should–yet. This week, I will attempt to analyze why.

[Brian] Williams: … Congressman Paul, a question for one of your colleagues on stage.
[Ron] Paul: My question is for Senator McCain.
This is an economic question that I want to ask. It has to do with the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets.
I’d like to know what your opinion is of this and whether you would keep it in place, what their role would be if you — or you would get rid of this group? And if you kept the group, would you make sure we would see some sunlight and know what they’re doing and how they’re being involved in our markets?
McCain: Well, obviously, we like to see more sunshine. But…. [McCain evades the question]

MEXICAN MEDDLING IN US INTERNAL AFFAIRS
In a memo From VDARE, a commentary site on Latin America, Allan Wall writes, “Article 41 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations states that ‘it is the duty of all persons enjoying such privileges and immunities (diplomats) to respect the laws and regulations of the receiving State.’ Mexico is a stickler for enforcing the Vienna Convention in its own territory. But when it comes to Mexican diplomats in the United States, they constantly meddle in U.S. internal politics as it relates to immigration. And our own government allows it [and encourages it].” In a recent speech Mexican President Calderon berated Mexican diplomats for not being more aggressive in intervening on behalf of every jailed Mexican–especially illegal immigrants. Mexican historian and journalist Lorenzo Meyer quotes Calderon as saying, “it’s extremely important that Mexicans are able to continue migrating—-it’s the country’s escape valve. There’s no other way Mexico can produce enough jobs for all its working-age residents.” Nonsense. The problem in Mexico is corruption and over-regulation, not lack of business opportunities.
Calderon and George Bush both subscribe to a globalist agenda. Both endorse secret policies that foment a clash of cultures in the US so that increasing conflict will justify forging a North American Union as the “solution.” That’s the real reason why the administration doesn’t live up to its promises to secure the border.

Where does Paul think he lives? America?
Who in this country would ever vote for Ron Paul?
It would be ludicrous to vote for a man who believes in our Constitution and has abided by it with every vote he has cast in Congress. It is a certainty that we would never elect a man who has never voted to raise taxes. And why would we ever want to restore the civil liberties that we have lost under the Bush administration?
I feel much safer knowing my phone and e-mail can be monitored by the government. And the fact that habeas corpus can be suspended makes me sleep better at night. Paul wants to put an end to our safety.
Good grief. Paul wants to get us out of Iraq. And he wants to stop us from meddling in the affairs of other countries. Does he think he lives in a free America? Worse, he wants a sound monetary policy as opposed to our current deficit spending.
Wouldn’t we be better off with Hillary or McCain in the White House? That way, we could be assured of a prolonged conflict in Iraq, an even larger national debt and feel safe — all at the same time.
