Wind turbines are actually slaughtering millions of birds and bats annually
The Obama administration is issuing 30-year permits for “taking” (killing) bald and golden eagles. The great birds will be legally slaughtered “unintentionally” by lethal wind turbines installed in their breeding territories, and in “dispersion areas” where their young congregate (e.g. Altamont Pass).
By chance (if you believe in coincidences), a timely government study claims wind farms will kill “only” 1.4 million birds yearly by 2030. This new report is just one of many, financed with taxpayers’ money, aimed at convincing the public that additional mortality caused by wind plants is sustainable. – It is not.
Dr. Shawn Smallwood’s 2004 study, spanning four years, estimated that California’s Altamont Pass wind “farm” killed an average of 116 Golden Eagles annually. This adds up to 2,900 dead “goldies” since it was built 25 years ago. Altamont is the biggest sinkhole for the species, but not the only one, and industry-financed research claiming that California’s GE population is stable is but a white-wash.
Eagles are not the only victims. Smallwood also estimated that Altamont killed an average of 300 red-tailed hawks, 333 American kestrels and 380 burrowing owls annually – plus even more non-raptors, including 2,526 rock doves and 2,557 western meadowlarks.
In 2012, breaking the European omerta on wind farm mortality, the Spanish Ornithological Society (SEO/Birdlife) reviewed actual carcass counts from 136 monitoring studies. They concluded that Spain’s 18,000 wind turbines are killing 6-18 million birds and bats yearly.
Extrapolating that and similar (little publicized) German and Swedish studies, 39,000 U.S. wind turbines would not be killing “only” 440,000 birds (USFWS, 2009) or “just” 573,000 birds and 888,000 bats (Smallwood, 2013), but 13-39 million birds and bats every year!
However, this carnage is being covered up by self-serving and/or politically motivated government agencies, wind industry lobbyists, environmental groups and ornithologists, under a pile of misleading studies paid for with more taxpayer money. …
Nevertheless, news has leaked that eagles are being hacked to death all across America. This is hardly surprising, as raptors are attracted to wind turbines. They perch on them to rest or scan for prey. They come because turbines are often built in habitats that have abundant food (live or carrion) and good winds for gliding.

Save the Eagles International (STEI) has posted photographs of raptors perched on nacelles or nonmoving blades , and ospreys building a nest on a decommissioned turbine. Moving blades don’t deter them either: videos show a turkey vulture perched on the hub of a spinning turbine, and a griffon vulture being struck. Birds perceive areas traveled by spinning blades as open space, unaware that blade tips are moving at up to 180 mph. Many are focused on prey. These factors make wind turbines “ecological death traps,” wherever they are located.
Sean Stone’s film about SOLUTIONS instead of war! Great theme, good ideas, but some not so good.
Sean doesn’t identify the #1 problem, which is spiritual and moral. And some of these solutions are unconstitutional and even dangerous (how nuclear power plants are safe — not if the grid goes down! Sean does not mention hardening the power grid). Public universities have become mind-control institutions, detrimental to society.
Thom Hartmann’s discussion of tariffs is very good in part 2. They were about 30%, when we had no income tax and plenty of jobs!

It’s refreshing to know that Trump questioned the official 9/11 story right after it happened (video is below); however, the wings probably penetrated the outer wall without the assist of bombs, as he surmised at the time. It would be interesting to hear what he would say now, 15 years later.
Dave VonKleist’s 2004 film, “911: In Plane Site,” showed there were bright flashes when the NOSES of the planes struck the Twin Towers, which very well could have been caused by explosives. But we don’t see such flashes when the wings strike the walls. And how could bombs make wing sized thin cuts as demonstrated in this photo? [See photo by itself here]
It is true that the outer perimeter walls were built from multiple square, structural steel beams, but the steel was only 1/4 inch thick near the top. Whereas, the walls of the 47 inner columns were much thicker.
1/4 inch walled steel beams seem substantial against aluminum wings, but momentum and another factor can easily account for the wings’ penetration.
This discussion debates this subject. It shows a video of high-speed water cutting through steel and an 1,100 mph ping pong ball going right through a paddle:

But there is one even more important factor:
One guy shares a video that shows a drinking straw can penetrate a potato as long as the person’s thumb covers the end, keeping air pressure within the straw. He states: “in the case of both wings, they could be considered to be VIRTUALLY ‘SOLID’ STRUCTURES, since they were filled to capacity with fuel. As (most) everyone knows, LIQUIDS ARE NOT COMPRESSIBLE.”
So it seems completely logical that fuel filled wings weighing as much as 41,000 pounds each (max capacity), traveling at 600+ mph would impact at enormous pounds per square inch, and could penetrate the 1/4 steel walled beams without the help of bombs.
Also, after the wings collided with the outer steel columns, it’s unlikely that any of the sturdier 47 interior steel columns were severed by the airplanes unless struck by the stout landing gear or engine shafts.

Electric, hybrid and other eco-friendly cars fill the air with as many toxins as dirty diesel vehicles, scientists have found.
The greener alternative produce more tiny particles from tyre and brake wear because batteries and other parts needed to propel them make them heavier.
It happens because when eco-cars accelerate or slow down the tyres and brakes wear faster, in turn producing more particulates. More particles are also whipped up from the road surface because of the extra weight.
These extra emissions are almost equal to the toxic particulates saved by reduced engine use, according to Jonathan Leake at The Sunday Times.
The research, led by Peter Achten and co-author Victor Timmers of Edinburgh University, is published in the journal Atmospheric Environment.
Achten said: ‘We found that non-exhaust emissions, from brakes, tyres and the road, are far larger than exhaust emissions in all modern cars.
‘These are more toxic than emissions from modern engines so they are likely to be key factors in the extra heart attacks, strokes and asthma attacks seen when air pollution levels surge.’
