- Criminal use of force against Iraq. The Iraq war was unlawful from the start, and the occupation continues to be unlawful to this day. First, it was a violation of the Constitution, as war was never officially declared by Congress. Second, it was a violation of the UN Charter, as it was not approved in the Security Council, nor did the war amount to an act of “defense” in any reasonable estimation. The war to date has resulted in the deaths of over 1 million Iraqis, over 4,000 U.S. soldiers, and injured and debilitated tens of thousands more.
- Condoned and approved systemic torture. Torture is a violation of international treaties and U.S. domestic law. In addition, it has been shown to illicit faulty intelligence, and it makes U.S. military personal vulnerable to torture in turn.
- Arresting Americans without charges. Under Bush, and the unconstitutional Patriot Act, thousands of Americans have been arrested without charge and denied their habeas corpus rights. In addition, their conversations with their attorneys have been monitored, violating their attorney/client privilege.
- Signing more than 1000 signing statements. George W. Bush has issued the greatest number of signing statements of any president in U.S. history. The signing statement is a provision that dates back to the founding of the country, typically reserved for making rhetorical statements at the time of a bill’s passage into law. Bush has used these statements in a way they were never meant for: to preclude himself from having to follow the laws he signs. The American Bar Association has condemned Bush’s use of signing statements, calling it a violation of the separation of powers defined under the constitution, which only allows a President to either sign or veto a bill; the constitution does not permit a President to obey a law only when they feel like it. …
- Systematic spying on Americans without judicial approval. Spying on citizens without judicial approval is a violation of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (FISA).

AMY GOODMAN: Michael, your sixth presidential decree for the next president’s first ten days is to feed al-Qaeda and the next generation of America-haters by building wells.
MICHAEL MOORE: Well, there’s over a billion people on this planet that don’t have access to clean drinking water. You know, what if we made it an American mission to make sure that the entire third world had clean drinking water? One of the statistics I read was it would cost about $10 per person in the third world of people who don’t have the clean drinking water right now. So, that’s—geez, that’s $10 times a billion people? $10 billion. That’s just October in Iraq. For the money that we’re spending in Iraq in October, we could provide clean drinking water to most of the people that don’t have it. And I, as an American, would rather be known by the people who are struggling to survive in the third world as the country that gave them clean drinking water or gave them other things that they need to help them in their daily existence to survive. I think most Americans would rather be known for that. Instead, we’re known as the invaders and the occupiers and the people who prop up the regimes in these countries, and I’m tired of that. I’m really tired of it.

The relentless expansion of corporate control over our political economy has proven nearly immune to daily reporting by the mainstream media. Corporate crime, fraud and abuse have become like the weather; everyone is talking about the storm but no one seems able to do anything about it. This is largely because expected accountability mechanisms — including boards of directors, outside accounting and law firms, bankers and brokers, state and federal regulatory agencies and legislatures — are inert or complicit.
When, year after year, the established corporate watchdogs receive their profits or compensation directly or indirectly from the companies they are supposed to be watching, independent judgment fails, corruption increases and conflicts of interest grow among major CEOs and their cliques. Over time, these institutions, unwilling to reform themselves, strive to transfer the costs of their misdeeds and recklessness onto the larger citizenry. In so doing, big business is in the process of destroying the very capitalism that has provided it with a formidable ideological cover.
Consider the following assumptions of a capitalistic system:
[…]
2) Under capitalism, businesses are supposed to sink or swim, which is still very true for small business. But larger industries and companies often have become “too big to fail” and demand that Uncle Sam serve as their all-purpose protector, providing a variety of public guarantees and emergency bailouts. Yes, some wildly looted companies that are expendable, such as Enron, cannot avail themselves of governmental salvation and do go bankrupt or are bought. By and large, however, in industry after industry where two or three companies dominate or presage a domino effect, Washington becomes their backstop.

MY ELECTION ADVICE
It is time for Americans to stop voting for the “lesser of two evils,” and make a firm commitment always to vote only for principled candidates who will defend our liberty without compromise. If you are a conservative and think that we will suffer more damage under Obama than McCain, think again. Both parties are going to foist a national health insurance plan on the nation. Both will continue intervening around the world. Neither will fight against the evils of fiat money and insider trading and speculation that has brought our nation to economic destruction. Both will favor more bailouts of all varieties that will create a complete dependency upon government controls. At least with a Democrat in office the conservatives will fight against them. With a Republican in office, unthinking conservatives accept what they are told and believe that it is somehow a virtue.
I, along with Ron Paul, am endorsing Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party for President. Baldwin is principled, articulate, and capable of rising to be the next great leader of the conservative movement in America. He’s a great religious leader but will not compromise with the PTB in order to gain political favors for Christianity as do the other mainline evangelical leaders. He is also very sensitive to the fact that there are others in this nation with different religious beliefs. Baldwin allows for religious diversity and does not believe in limiting our constitutional freedoms on one religion only. Voting for a third party is not a waste of your vote. It sends a strong message to the establishment that we are not going to be fooled or persuaded any longer into voting for evil in the illusory fear of “wasting our vote.”
It is hard to stop opportunists from running for office when courts allow them to legislate benefits for others. That’s why term limits don’t work for us. It’s far easier for socialists to replaced their kind of representative than for us to find principled constitutionalists to run in a system that doesn’t have limits on lawmaking power.
Ultimately, our only long-term solution is to rebuild a network of influential conservatives and libertarians who can recognize the difference between good and bad laws (new founding fathers, if you will) so that we can build a movement to once again bind Congress and state legislatures down with the chains of a tighter set of laws–with proper limits on lawmaking powers and the use of majority rule. My Law and Government section on my personal website http://www.joelskousen.com/Philosophy/philosophy.html is a first start in this area.
I’ve tried to take the principles of the constitution and restructure them in tight legal language so our fundamental rights cannot be legislated or interpreted away. Another effort focusing on eliminating bad law directly has been started by subscriber David Shields. I encourage you to go to his website www.fixbadlaws.com and click on the “Featured Article” link; read it and then sign on to help disseminate this to others. It’s a good beginning. If there are any other legal minds out there willing to help me begin the process of preparing a new legal structure for the Ideal State, let me know by return email.

In a radio interview in 2001, then-Illinois State Sen. Barack Obama noted — somewhat ruefully — that the same Supreme Court that ordered political and educational equality in the 1960s and 1970s did not bring about economic equality as well. Although Mr. Obama said he could come up with arguments for the constitutionality of such action, the plain meaning of the Constitution quite obviously prohibits it.
Mr. Obama is hardly alone in his expansive view of legitimate government. During the past month, Sen. John McCain (who, like Sen. Obama, voted in favor of the $700 billion bank bailout) has been advocating that $300 billion be spent to pay the monthly mortgage payments of those in danger of foreclosure. The federal government is legally powerless to do that, as well.
When Franklin Delano Roosevelt first proposed legislation that authorized the secretary of agriculture to engage in Soviet-style central planning — a program so rigid that it regulated how much wheat a homeowner could grow for his own family’s consumption — he rejected arguments of unconstitutionality. He proclaimed that the Constitution was “quaint” and written in the “horse and buggy era,” and predicted the public and the courts would agree with him.
Remember that FDR had taken — and either Mr. Obama or Mr. McCain will soon take — the oath to uphold that old-fashioned document, the one from which all presidential powers come.
Unfortunately, these presidential attitudes about the Constitution are par for the course. Beginning with John Adams, and proceeding to Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson and George W. Bush, Congress has enacted and the president has signed laws that criminalized political speech, suspended habeas corpus, compelled support for war, forbade freedom of contract, allowed the government to spy on Americans without a search warrant, and used taxpayer dollars to shore up failing private banks.

According to reports out of top Chinese mainstream news outlets, the RAND Corporation recently presented a shocking proposal to the Pentagon in which it lobbied for a war to be started with a major foreign power in an attempt to stimulate the American economy and prevent a recession.
A fierce debate has now ensued in China about who that foreign power may be, with China itself as well as Russia and even Japan suspected to be the targets of aggression.
The reports cite French media news sources as having uncovered the proposal, in which RAND suggested that the $700 billion dollars that has been earmarked to bailout Wall Street and failing banks instead be used to finance a new war which would in turn re-invigorate the flagging stock markets.
The RAND Corporation is a notoriously powerful NGO with deep ties to the U.S. military-industrial complex as well as interlocking connections with the Ford, Rockefeller, and Carnegie foundations.
Current directors of RAND include Frank Charles Carlucci III, former Defense Secretary and Deputy Director of the CIA, Ronald L. Olson, Council on Foreign Relations luminary and former Secretary of Labor, and Carl Bildt, top Bilderberg member and former Swedish Prime Minister. …
China’s biggest media outlet, Sohu.com, speculated that the target of the new war would probably be China or Russia, but that it could also be Iran or another middle eastern country. Japan was also mentioned as a potential target for the reason that Japan holds the most U.S. debt. …
The reported RAND proposal dovetails with recent comments made by Joe Biden, Colin Powell, Madeleine Albright and others, concerning the “guarantee” that Barack Obama will face a major “international crisis” soon after taking office.
It’s a done deal: Delta owns Northwest
Company officials signed merger papers within hours of a Justice Department OK.
Finally, it’s official: Northwest Airlines is Delta’s.
More than eight decades after it was founded, Minnesota’s airline giant became part of Delta Air Lines on Wednesday. Hours after federal regulators cleared the merger for takeoff, the companies consummated the deal creating the world’s largest airline. …
On Wednesday, the IAM’s Robert Roach, general vice president, said federal approval of the merger came as “no surprise” after “eight years of disastrous economic decisions by the Bush administration.”
The merger connects Northwest’s network in Asia with Delta’s strength in Europe and growing presence in Africa and Latin America.
The carrier will maintain Northwest’s domestic hubs in the Twin Cities, Detroit and Memphis as well as Delta’s hubs in Atlanta, Cincinnati, New York and Salt Lake City.
“The merger makes even more sense as we face an economic recession because we can capture $2 billion of benefits annually that neither airline could accomplish alone,” Anderson and Bastian said in a memo Wednesday to employees.

Dear Friend:
As I’m sure you know, Senator Ted Stevens was this week found guilty of corruption. With national Republicans, including John McCain and Sarah Palin, calling for Steven’s resignation, his re-election bid appears lost. However, defenders of Liberty like you and I cannot sit idly by and allow big government liberal and Harry Reid disciple Mark Begich to waltz right into the Senate for the next six years.
That is why I am endorsing Bob Bird for US Senate. Bob is a true warrior in the fight against big government. If elected, he has committed to caucus with the GOP, yet would retain the independence and integrity Alaskans expect and deserve.
The hour is growing late, and time is short. Will you help Bob Bird with your generous online contribution of $250, $100, $50 or even the legal maximum of $2,300? http://www.birdforsenate.com/contribute.html
Bob also needs all the volunteer support and energy you, your friends and family might provide. To pitch in, please contact him at http://www.birdforsenate.com/contribute.html.
You have stood with me as I campaigned for the Presidency to return our federal government to its proper role. Will you help me bring a reliable ally to Washington?
Many thanks for all you have done.
In Liberty,
Ron Paul

3rd Party Debate To Focus On Economy
“No Bailouts”
Presidential Candidate To Tell Voters The Rest Of The Story
Cleveland, OH (October 29, 2008) Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin (www.Baldwin08.com) will address economic issues in a debate scheduled for Thursday, October 30th at 4:30 PM at the City Club of Cleveland, 850- Euclid Ave, Cleveland.
The forum, organized by the City Club will effectively break the media blackout on viable third party candidates running in the presidential race. Third party candidates in the debate include Independent Ralph Nader, the Green Party’s Cynthia McKinney and the Libertarian Party’s Bob Barr.
“As long as Americans are denied the opportunity to hear from all the candidates we cannot pretend we have unbiased election coverage or fair elections,” said Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin.
Baldwin, standard-bearer for the fast-growing Constitution Party has received the endorsement of former GOP presidential candidate Congressman Ron Paul (http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=547).
Last month Paul urged all Americans to end the duopoly of the Republican and Democratic parties and vote for a third party candidate in November (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZ7fcbst3VE ).
Baldwin, a Pensacola, Florida pastor and former Moral Majority state chair, is a political columnist, author and radio talk show host and was the 2004 Constitution Party vice presidential candidate.
Baldwin has distinguished himself as the only candidate running who is for secure borders, ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, for overturning Roe v Wade and abolishing the IRS and the Federal Reserve. Baldwin has received an A rating from Gun Owners of America (www.gunowners.org) and Numbers USA, (www.numbersusa.org) the pro-secure borders, anti- illegal immigration group in contrast to McCain and Obama’s F- ratings.
The City Club of Cleveland debate, moderated by Dan Moulthrop of Cleveland’s PBS radio and television stations, will be streamed live by ideastream (http://www.wviz.org/). The debate’s main focus will be on the economy. Baldwin has spoken out against the federal government’s recent so-called “bailouts” in contrast to Senators Obama and McCain who support what Baldwin calls “a disastrous scheme against the American taxpayer.”
C-Span will tape Thursday’s debate for broadcast later that night.

- The bailouts are causing HIGHER mortgage rates for consumers
- The government’s commercial paper buying spree is INCREASING the cost of borrowing
- Arbitrary interventions by the government (AIG rescued, Lehman left to fail) create chaos in the markets. Other than some brief exceptions, the stock market has steadily plunged since the bailout bill was signed. Indeed, every time Paulson, Bernanke or Bush speak, the stock market tanks.
- They also undermine consumer confidence. For example, consumer confidence is now at an “all-time low”, due partly to “increasing uncertainty about the government’s rescue plan“.
- The bailouts are drastically increasing America’s debt and causing other problems
- The bailouts may actually being INCREASING libor (and see this)
- The bailouts may cause unintended problems for money markets
…economists at UCLA have concluded that some of FDR’s policies extended the length of the Great Depression by 7 years.

The financial system is undergoing a period of deleveraging that cannot be stopped. For example:
• Barrons is running an editorial entitled “The Crash Must Come: Intervention can’t stop the business cycle”. ….
Instead of allowing an orderly deleveraging process, the government is actually trying to prop up the leverage.
For example, instead of requiring banks to deleverage, the government is reducing their cash reserve requirements so they can increase their leverage to loan money they don’t have through fractional reserve banking. See also this.
And – even after Greenspan confessed that derivatives were dangerous (and see this) – the government refuses to rescind them or take any other real actions to contain the nuclear fallout from such “weapons of mass destruction“. Instead, the government is trying to prop up the derivatives market by various means.
Spin multiplies when 3rd party candidates, who have real answers and are more likely to tell the truth are banned.

Constitution Party Call-in
(32-minutes with Chuck)
Vote clean this time. Stand up for righteousness!
Chuck Baldwin is Ron Paul endorsed and is awesome! I have voted for the Constitution party candidate for President the last two times, and will again, now that the people foolishly chose John McCain over Ron Paul in the primaries.
The globalist picked, promoted, funded and controlled McCain and Obama will both continue the destruction of this once great nation to its utter demise.

Another influenza season is beginning, and the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will strongly urge Americans to get a flu shot. In fact, the CDC mounts a well-orchestrated campaign each season to generate interest and demand for flu shots.
But a recent study published in the October issue of the Archives of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine found that vaccinating young children against the flu appeared to have no impact on flu-related hospitalizations or doctor visits during two recent flu seasons. …
There is some evidence that flu shots cause Alzheimer’s disease, most likely as a result of combining mercury with aluminum and formaldehyde. Mercury in vaccines has also been implicated as a cause of autism.
Three other serious adverse reactions….
One credible hypothesis that explains the seasonal nature of flu is that influenza is a vitamin D deficiency disease.
Vitamin D levels in your blood fall to their lowest point during flu seasons.
