Most of America can’t imagine the evening news could look and sound any other way.

That’s how solid the long-term brainwashing is. The elite anchors, from Douglas Edwards and John Daly, in the early days of television, all the way to Brian Williams and Scott Pelley, have set the style. They define the genre.

The elite anchor is not a person filled with passion or curiosity. Therefore, the audience doesn’t have to be passionate or filled with curiosity, either.

The anchor is not a demanding voice on the air; therefore, the audience doesn’t have to be demanding, either.

The anchor isn’t hell-bent on uncovering the truth. For this he substitutes a false dignity. Therefore, the audience can surrender its need to wrestle with the truth and replace that with a false dignity of its own.

The anchor takes propriety to an extreme: it’s unmannerly to look below the surface of things. Therefore, the audience adopts those manners.

The anchor inserts an actor’s style into what should instead be a relentless reporter’s forward motion. Therefore, the audience can remain content in its own related role: watching the actor.

The anchor taps into, and mimics, that part of the audience’s psyche that wants smooth delivery of superficial cause and effect.

Night after night, the anchor, working from a long tradition of other anchors, confirms that he is delivering the news as it should be delivered, in both style and substance. The audience bows before the tradition and before him.

The television anchors are, indeed, a different breed.

**When I appeared on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight to debate gun control on Thursday night, I came armed with a copy of the Constitution of the United States.**

I did so for a very simple reason: for too long, the left has been getting away with the lie that they are pro-Second Amendment. Then they proceed to violate the most basic concept of the Second Amendment: that we have a right to keep and bear arms. It is fine to have a rational conversation about how to balance rights with the risk and rewards of particular firearm ownership. But that is not what the left does. They loudly proclaim support for the right to bear arms but then ask, “Why should you be allowed to keep an AR-15 in your home?”

The left pretends it is for the Second Amendment because it recognizes that the American public likes the Second Amendment. But the left has no real defense for the Second Amendment on a philosophical level. They say that they want assault weapons gone, as Piers Morgan does, in order to prevent gun death. But then they say that they’re fine with handgun ownership, which is the instrument used in exponentially more gun death. They can’t explain this mental gymnastics. When I asked Morgan about it, he replied, “We’ll come to that.” He never did.

Here’s the truth. Ideally, the left wants to ban all guns. They just aren’t willing to go there yet, because they know it’s politically unpalatable.

How do we know that? Because that’s what Piers Morgan said the other night with me. First, he claimed he loved the Second Amendment. “I believe and respect an American’s, under the second amendment of the Constitution – that you kindly brought in – to defend themselves with a handgun or a pistol.” But when I explained to Morgan just why the Second Amendment was enshrined into law – in order to prevent the threat of foreign invasion and domestic usurpation – he balked and said that such an argument was absurd.

So he was for the Second Amendment; he just couldn’t explain why.

Which means he was really against it, as he showed seconds later. … Morgan grabbed the copy of the Constitution I’d brought. Waving it my face, he nearly shouted, “You come in, you brandish your little book –“

For just a moment, the mask slipped. To Morgan, the Constitution was nothing more than a little book, not the single most important document in American history and the basis for the freest and most powerful nation in world history. It wasn’t a document to which politicians swear allegiance and for which American soldiers shed blood. It was a little book, an annoyance in the way of his all-compassionate perspective on gun control.

But it wasn’t just a Freudian slip. He refused to admit to me that he wanted a total gun ban. Then, once I was safely off the set, he turned to another guest, Tony Robbins….

For CNN’s Piers Morgan, trouble just seems to be a calling. But then again, it’s not as if the cheeky British isn’t responsible for much of his own grief.

Throughout his career Morgan seems to have been involved in a litany of ethically questionable issues, but the latest involves charges stemming from his time as editor of Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, from 1995-2004. Reuters reported in late December that during this time the paper may have engaged in phone hacking.

According to reports, several British papers that belong to the Trinity Mirror publishing group now face charges of phone hacking from four people, including former England football coach Sven Goran Eriksson.

Bissinger claims the only purpose for a semi-automatic weapon would be to ‘pop’ Alex Jones in the boxing ring, referring to Jones’ challenge to Morgan during the previous night. The other guests laugh and say they’d like to see it. Without a doubt, this amounts to a veiled threat.

In the first half, activist, webmaster, and talk show host Michael Rivero joined John B. Wells for a conversation about how the U.S. government manipulates information to generate support for military conflicts and the financial factors fueling these wars. “We’re fed this constant diet, by government and corporate media, basically telling us what will get us to do what they want us to do,” he observed. However, Rivero pointed to the barrage of media reports concerning WMDs in Iraq, which convinced many Americans to support the war, as a potential watershed moment, since it exposed this manipulation on a grand scale.

The driving force behind these “military adventures,” Rivero said, is a desperate attempt by the banking cartel to maintain the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. To that end, he noted that both Iraq and Libya tried to stop using the dollar which led to the subsequent US invasions of those countries. Chillingly, Rivero warned that China and Russia are “digging their heels in” and seem poised to introduce their own international currencies which would challenge the dollar. As a result, he lamented, “we face the real risk of a nuclear war to prop up this paper dollar.” Even if such a conflict can be avoided, Rivero suggested that, ultimately, the US government could “collapse from within” under the weight of financial mismanagement much like the Soviet Union.

In the second half, former Wahabbi Muslim, Al Fadi, discussed the Qur’an, and his efforts to educate Westerners about its teachings. He explained the messages in the Qur’an can be broken down into four basic groups: “generic warnings” that one must follow Allah, religious laws, an emphasis on the “oneness of God” which served as an attack on the Christian trinity, and calls for violence against those who do not practice Islam. According to Fadi, the “number one misconception” surrounding Islam is that it is a religion of peace. He attributed that belief to moderate Muslims who do not understand the teachings of the Qur’an.

Although the Qur’an calls for violence against non-Muslims, Fadi stressed that only 15% of the Islamic population is “terrorist or radical or fundamentalist” and adheres to these principles. However, he dismissed the moderate Muslims’ claims that the religion has been hijacked by radicals because these peaceful practitioners remain unwilling to stand up against their violent brethren. Similarly, Fadi cautioned that the US policy of ‘political correctness’ in the form of support of Israel, tolerance of the Muslim Brotherhood, and the lack of military response to the Beghazi attacks, is seen as signs of weakness to Islamic radicals. “Therefore,” he declared, “it empowers them to become even louder with us and go even further in their demands and their agenda.”

CNN’S MORGAN: AMEND THE BIBLE

Piers Morgan has done it again, this time saying that both the Bible and the U.S. Constitution are “inherently flawed” and need new “amendments.”

During Morgan’s Monday, December 24 broadcast of his cable spectacle, CNN’s British import once again attacked America’s most deeply held principles by slaming both the Constitution and the Bible.

Morgan was interviewing Saddleback Church Pastor Rick Warren when he essentially went for the throat.

“Both the Bible and the Constitution were well intentioned, but they are basically, inherently flawed. Hence, the need to amend it. My point to you about gay rights, for example, it’s time for an amendment to the bible,” the CNN host said.

Naturally, Pastor Warren told the cable talker that at least he didn’t believe the Bible was flawed.

But Morgan thought it was all pretty funny. “You should compile a new bible,” Morgan guffawed.

As he always does, Morgan hid behind a faux fealty to civility telling the good pastor that it was necessary to remain “civil” in order to have a constructive discussion. Even as he attacks everyone else’s beliefs he pretends he’s being civil about it.

Take his gun “townhall,” for instance. His “civility” included calling guests liars, screaming over them, and preventing them from answering his questions.

The audience knows the anchors will provide the meaning and the official voice of the tragedy. The anchors are, in a way, priests, intoning their benediction to the suffering and their elegies to the dead.

This is what the audience expects, and this is what they get.

This expectation, in fact, is so deep that anything else would be considered an insult, a moral crime.

For example, suppose a network suddenly shifted gears and began interviewing police and residents and asking tough questions about contradictions in the official scenario.…

Your typical American television viewer would cringe at such demanding questions. You know why? Because he has been entrained and conditioned by news anchors to refrain from digging below the surface. In other words, that viewer is hypnotized. …

If these anchors kept on asking questions…, do you know what would happen? The viewing audience would begin to stir, would begin to break through their hypnotic programming and wake up.

“You know, he’s right. That doesn’t make sense. Maybe there really was a second shooter.”

“Or that Lanza kid…maybe he didn’t kill anybody at all.”

“What? You mean he was…set up?”

“Maybe he was a patsy.” …

Newtown is presented as a television event. From the outset, the mood is funereal. It has that tinge and coloration. The audience absorbs it and wants no intrusion on it.

This is Matrix programming.

The anchor is not only the priest, but also the teacher. He/she shows the audience how to experience the event and what to feel and what to think and how to act.

One of the great skills of an anchor is the ability to present the news seamlessly. This is what those big paychecksare for: the blends and segueways and the underlying tone of sincerity that bleeds into every detail of what is being reported.

That is also hypnotic. It sets up a frequency that moves into the brains of the audience. In those brains, it’s an Acceptance-frequency.

It’s the mark of a great news anchor, to be able to transmit that and achieve it. …

In the same way, a song can succeed because the melody (carrier frequency) makes the trite lyrics seem important.

Entrainment also makes the recipient feel he is part of something larger. This is a key component. The recipient senses he is a member of a collective that is sharing a moment, an experience.

“I feel this way, and everybody else does too.”

All the network anchor has to do is frown and shake his head a little, when the subject of guns arises. That’s all it takes, and the brains of the audience suck it in.
