Chuck Baldwin: A Rudderless Ship Of State — “America’s Liberty Ship is dependent upon the twin mainsails of Morality and Constitutional Government to stay on course.”

As a result of this total breakdown of basic morality in virtually every distinguished element within the American framework, constitutional governance is also virtually nonexistent. Adams was right: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral . . . people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

From: News with Views

In Patrick Henry’s immortal “Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death” speech, he said, “[I]t is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth.” Never have Henry’s words been truer than they are today. For too long, good men have turned a blind eye to the obvious reality that America’s Ship of State has swerved significantly off course. In fact, it is no hyperbole to say that America’s Ship of State is completely rudderless and, absent a speedy course correction, seems destined to crash against the rocks of oppression and economic ruin in the very near future. For anyone willing to open their eyes, the manifestations of America’s almost-certain collision with history are everywhere.

America’s Liberty Ship is dependent upon the twin mainsails of Morality and Constitutional Government to stay on course. It is an irrefutable and irreversible law that these twin sails are indissolubly linked. We cannot have one without the other. America’s founders clearly understood this.

For example, our second President, John Adams, said, “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Samuel Adams (called the “Father of the American Revolution”) said, “He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of this country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man . . . The sum of all is, if we would most truly enjoy this gift of Heaven, let us become a virtuous people.” …

Our first President, George Washington (called the “Father of his Country”), said, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great Pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens.”

And to quote Patrick Henry again, “Bad men cannot make good citizens . . . A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience, is incompatible with freedom.”

Yet, what do we see taking place all over America–including in the halls of government, the boardrooms of business, and the sanctuaries of churches? An almost complete and total breakdown of morality. And by a breakdown of morality, I am referring to much more than sexual immorality.

Morality demands honesty and equity in judgment. Morality is selfless. Morality is humble. Morality is jealous over truth and justice. Morality would never jeopardize the future on the altar of the present. Morality does not place personal advancement above principle. Morality respects its heritage and honors its ancestors. And Morality gladly submits to lawful authority, especially divine authority.

But compare basic morality to the modus operandi of today’s governments, businesses, and churches.

Mel Gibson: Parallels between Mayan culture shortly before it collapsed and America — “THE USE OF FEAR to manipulate people” & “HUMAN SACRIFICE … sending guys off to Iraq for no reason”

From: MSNBC, Oct. 3, 2006

The “Apocalypto” director recently made widely reported comments drawing parallels between Mayan culture shortly before it collapsed and America’s current situation, saying “the precursors to a civilization that’s going under are the same, time and time again,” and adding, What’s human sacrifice if not sending guys off to Iraq for no reason?”

The organizer of the film festival where the comments were made says that the quote was “exploited out of context” — but, in fact, Gibson made several other thinly veiled references to America today. For example, the director talked about “the use of fear to manipulate people then quipped, “so happy that doesn’t happen now.” Motivating people with fear is apparently a major theme of Gibson’s new film.

“I just wanna draw the parallels,” Gibson said. “I just looked at it, and thought, we display that stuff here. I don’t wanna be a doomsayer, but the Mayan calendar ends in 2012,” he chuckled. “So have fun!”

Lou Dobbs says he’s leaving CNN – AFTER – Shot Fired Into Home of Lou Dobbs — “We’re engaged in a battle for the soul of this country”

From Lou Dobbs earlier statement (YouTube video, below):

“If anybody thinks that we’re not engaged in a battle for the soul of this country right now, you’re sorely mistaken. And the more you stay on the sidelines and the more you don’t make your voice heard, the more likely it is that we’re going to lose this battle for the soul of the nation.”

My wife and I have been shot at, our driver, my house has been shot and hit. An investigation continues. I’ve had bodyguards now, you know, I’m not in the mood to put up with little fools like Geraldo Rivera.”

It’s time that we really awaken to what is happening in this country. It is ugly, it has to stop, and we have to find the courage to elect congressmen and senators, and yes, Presidents who will speak truth. Not pander and not play politically correct games.”

We need to get real about what is happening in this country, and understand that if this battle for the soul of the country is lost, so much is lost that follows. Respect for our laws, respect for our borders, our ports, our national sovereignty.”

“Why are we not enforcing laws. Why do we not demand respect for our sovereignty? Why do we not demand honest, open, straightforward debate?”

But he said this about 2 weeks earlier:

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qjbgk1TKLWY]Shot Fired Into Home of Lou Dobbs of CNN!

Pro-Illegal alien Amnesty supporting groups have been spreading lies about Lou Dobbs of CNN, trying to get him fired to censor his free speech, and foment hatred towards him because he stands against illegal immigration and Amnesty. Now, those lies and hatred have manifested in gunfire into the home of Lou Dobbs near his Hispanic wife!

The Southern Poverty Law Center, the Anti Defamation League, the National Council of La Raza, Media Matters, and Geraldo Rivera of Fox News are using false information to foment hatred towards Lou Dobbs or any American who speaks out against Amnesty or illegal immigration.

They could not get CNN to fire Lou Dobbs, so now their buddies in the drug and illegal alien importing gangs are likely stepping up.

Lou Dobbs is an American hero who is speaking out on behalf of all Americans who oppose illegal immigration and Amnesty for illegals.

We as a nation need to unify and rebuke the radical groups and activists that have put Lou Dobbs and his Hispanic wife’s lives in danger by spreading lies and hate against an honest man who cares deeply about his nation.

“I hope you never lose your sense of wonder

— Mark D. Sanders and Tia Sillers

“In most men,” wrote Augustin de Saint Beuve,” there is a dead poet whom the man survives.” Why does the poet die so young? Why are so many men and women limping along the trail of life, the doors to their hearts tightly bolted? What happened to the light we had as small children when we were filled with awe and excitement? Where or when did we learn that original thinking is wrong? At what point did we begin to follow the path of others’ perceptions of who we should be? How do you want to travel on the journey that is your one precious life? How do you get home to your one authentic self?

We can’t always find the answers to these questions but we can cultivate a way of living that celebrates uniqueness and we can travel deeper into our seeing. As we journey, we can develop a quality of mind that not only enriches the creative process in art, but results in a return to our true souls and to a more imaginative, richer state of being.

THE DRAGONS:

There are dragons that roam the wilderness of creative quests. If left to run amok, they can inhibit the most determined artist. The creative process transforms you, the artist, into a creative warrior – arming you to slay the dragons or at least keep them at bay.

The first step is to develop the courage to venture into the unknown, to climb into the mode of exploration – of subject and light, of assumed boundaries of photography and on paths that travel beyond personal horizons.

The dragons that plague the creative process appeal to the part of your mind that deals with product and ego. The way to combat these dragons and to discover images that grow from your heart and soul is not by searching in the drawers of your mind.

Prevailing mythology has it that creativity is a gift of some sort, but really it is a state of being – a quality of mind available to all. In a creative mind, the world is unique, has beauty, and is filled with potential. Creativity is an attitude. Creativity is like being in love – with life and with yourself. Creativity doesn’t have a simple definition, but we know that it is an ongoing process and it is about the search to discover the place where truth, beauty and fire live.

Joseph Campbell said, “If the path before you is clear, you’re probably on someone else’s.” Campbell knew that we don’t always know where we’re going or what the path will look like, but on the photographic path, the creative warrior knows photographic technique, owns great optics and good tripods, but that is not where they stop. On this path, craft is fine and necessary, but this is a search for transcending technical knowledge and is the quest for imagination and love.

[…]

DARE TO BE IDLE:

Learn to slow down and dare to be idle. We live in a culture that looks at idleness as something slovenly, lazy, and non-productive. It is only when you stop and reflect, that you can be filled and recharged. What you photograph today will be the result of yesterday’s “idling.”

[…]

To be on a creative path, we must work at ridding our thought processes of internal judges, worrying about winning camera club ribbons, or impressing editors. Photography should not be a competitive sport.

[…]

Have the courage and conviction to do whatever works for you. Do not let the appetites of those who “need” to stay in the box consume your taste for creativity.

[…]

We can’t blame the people around us who try to thwart our artistic expression. They don’t know any better. We can choose however, to trust what we know and who we are. We can move through fear and soar with the wings of our original creative selves. Eleanor Roosevelt knew this when she wrote, “Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

[…]

When viewers ask the question, “How long did it take you to get this shot?” There should be only one answer – “My whole life.” And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, make sure that you step onto the dance floor of a creative life and enjoy your dance.

LRAD Weapons Used in Pittsburgh: “It’s like serving notice to the American people that THE AGE OF PEACEFUL PROTEST IS OVER”

Transcribed by Jeff Fenske from The Alex Jones Show, 10/2/09

What happened in Pittsburgh is really very, very disturbing, because it’s like serving notice to the American people that the age of peaceful protest is over. If you go to a peaceful demonstration you risk losing your hearing from this LRAD*, which is a monster. …

I would personally prefer that people protested peacefully than be driven to other forms of protest, because peaceful protest is now past history in this country.”

“It’s a deterent thing. They want to say to people: you go out and be part of a peaceful protest and you don’t know what’s going to happen to you, so stay away.

And I just don’t see any opposition to it. The mainstream media are writing themselves into the history books by their refusal to face these big new issues that are coming up in this country.”

DHS Doles Out Fed Cash to Deploy Military LRADs in U.S. Cities

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars
October 2, 2009

The LRAD devices used against protesters and the residents of Pittsburgh last month were a beta test for things to come. As reported by the Washington Times on October 1, the Department of Homeland Security is doling out federal money to get police departments around the country stocked up on the LRAD weapons.

“With the help of Homeland Security grants, police departments nationwide looking to subdue unruly crowds and political protesters are purchasing a high-tech device originally used by the military to repel battlefield insurgents and Somali pirates with piercing noise capable of damaging hearing,” write Jerry Seper and Chuck Neubauer.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSMyY3_dmrM]

Cops use LRAD against people in Pittsburgh for the crime of assembly.

According to San Diego-based American Technology Corp., the company that makes the devices, LRADs are not weapons. American Technology insists LRADs are to be used in order to “influence the behavior and gain compliance” from people.

“It is designed to get people to do what police want. It makes them uncomfortable but does not hurt them,” he said Raymond DeMichiei, Pittsburgh’s deputy director of emergency management and homeland security.

In other words, as was the case in Pittsburgh, LRADs will be used prevent people from engaging in the First Amendment and the right to peacefully assembly and protest government policies.

American Technology stated in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing in September 2008 that the device is “capable of sufficient acoustic output to cause damage to human hearing or human health,” expressing concern that its misuse could lead to lawsuits. It is said the decibel range of the LRAD used in Pittsburgh was similar to standing next to an exploding IED.

“The association said that at 130 to 140 decibels, damage to the ear can be instantaneous, adding that the 145 to 151 range of the LRADS is ‘the kind of sound that can cause tinnitus and hearing damage immediately.’ Tinnitus is a condition that causes ringing in the ears, sometimes permanently,” the Times reports.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myWxwNQfo-8]

In 2006, The Discovery Channel described LRAD as a psychological weapon.

Trends forecaster Gerald Celente has an uncanny ability to predict the future. In 1987, he predicted the stock market crash and the fall of the Soviet Union. In November of last year he predicted revolution in America, food riots, tax rebellions, and angry people taking to the streets as the economy implodes and the nation is wracked by mass unemployment.

“America’s going to go through a transition the likes of which no one is prepared for,” said Celente.

It looks like the government will be prepared — to assault the desperate hordes that will gather and make demands on the government — and that is why the Department of Homeland Security is doling out wads of cash to militarized and federalized cops around the country for high-tech weapons.

There’s always a price to pay. The old African proverb, what is it a Zulu proverb: ‘no good deed goes unpunished?’ [laughs] It’s true, but no good deed goes unrewarded as well.

Because I learned in my life the curses, the bad things people do to you, it always has a price up front. And in my belief, in living in this type of morality at so many different levels, from Wall Street to Washington to main street to the people that are ripping off the system, we cannot move forward as a nation and succeed unless we bring our morality to the level it should be at.”

Carlos Santana: “When eternity nears, time disappears…you go right into the center of your light”

From: PBS

[Video clip of Santana and band performing live.]

Tavis: You were grooving to that. Were you liking what you heard?

Carlos Santana: Oh, totally. It’s a surge, it still feels like when you’re a child and they let you ride that water slide, only we’re going up instead of down. (Laughter.)

Tavis: No matter how many times you play a classic like “Smooth” you find something different, the presentation is different every time you play it?

Santana: Yes, because we found a way to understand why Marvin Gaye or Coltrane or Bob Marley, they enter a place of eternity when they go into this — for basketball players it’s the zone, the groove. We have a beautiful saying; it says “When eternity nears, time disappears.” And when you catch that groove, then you enter into that place where like I said, Marvin Gaye or Miles or Coltrane, they’re here. They’re really, really here.

And so when I hear music and I go in it, that’s where I bring my band and myself, into that place where time disappears, gravity disappears, illusions disappear, and you go right into the center of your light. And that’s the only place to really hang out.
