Newly declassified documents highlighting how the Israeli lobby routinely paid off journalists in the U.S. corporate media to write pro-Zionist propaganda in support of Israeli aggression against Palestine and Iran during the 60’s have taken on new significance after the Atlantic Monthly, which is named in the documents as being complicit in the bribing scandal, recently published a cover story hyping the necessity and inevitability of an Israeli attack on Iran.
“Declassified files from a Senate investigation into Israeli-funded covert public relations and lobbying activity in the United States were released by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) on July 23rd, 2010. The subpoenaed documents reveal Israel’s clandestine programs for “cultivation of editors,” the “stimulation and placement of suitable articles in the major consumer magazines” as well as U.S. reporting about sensitive subjects such as the Dimona nuclear weapons facility,” reports the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy.
The documents make specific reference to The Atlantic Monthly publication, and how “arrangements” are made with The Atlantic to publish articles sympathetic to Israel and hostile to Palestine and Iran.
The files also mention other news sources, such as the Scripps-Howard chain, that the lobby planned to penetrate in order to achieve a “break through,” in other words news sources that the lobby had not yet been able to pressure and pay off as progenitors of Israeli propaganda.
One of the excerpts from the files describes the achievements of the so-called “Magazine Committee” in placing propaganda in U.S. media outlets, stating, “We cannot pinpoint all that has already been accomplished by this Committee except to say that it has been responsible for the writing and placement of articles on Israel in some of America’s leading magazines.”
The lobby was also active in assisting the U.S. media in its cover up of The Lavon Affair, which centered around false-flag Israeli terrorist attacks on U.S. government facilities in Egypt.
Appearing on Russia Today, Institute for Research on Middle Eastern Policy director Grant F. Smith said the Senate investigation focused around, “Looking into groups who brought $36 million dollars into the U.S. to plant stories in the U.S. media and promote Israeli foreign policy objectives in the United States,” adding that the documents from the investigation were extremely relevant “because they reveal a vast effort to divert U.S. attention from the Israeli Dimona nuclear weapons facility by saying it was merely a research center,” even as Israel now obsessively hypes the supposed threat of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
When the individuals responsible for the illegal program were outed, the activities of the group were merely transferred into the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), noted Grant, which continues today as the foremost Israeli lobbying entity.

The revelation contained in the declassified documents, that $50,000 dollars was funneled to The Atlantic Magazine in order to derail a U.S. peace proposal related to Palestine, is particularly alarming given the fact that The Atlantic is now, “On the forefront of an AIPAC drive to get the United States to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities,” stated Grant.
Indeed, The Atlantic’s cover story this month, written by dual Israeli-U.S. national Jeffrey Goldberg, is entitled The Point of No Return, and amounts to nothing less than a manipulative public relations offensive to convince reads of the inevitability and necessity of attacking Iran.
Salon’s Glenn Greenwald savages the article, pointing out that it employs the familiar propaganda tactic of comparing Iran with Nazi Germany.
“No discussion of any of this is complete without noting that it was endlessly claimed that it was Saddam who was the New Hitler in order ratchet up fear levels and justify an attack that country, too. How many times can we be persuaded to attack the New Hitler?” asks Greenwald.
It’s hardly surprising that Goldberg would be so enthusiastic to sell the war on Iran, given that he was a former member of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and has spent his entire journalistic career promoting wars based on phony pretexts.
Goldberg’s 2002 New Yorker article entitled The Great Terror, was credited with providing a huge boost to the Bush administration’s argument for invading Iraq and was praised by ex-CIA director and habitual warmonger James Woolsey, while other critics savaged the piece as “a J-school nightmare: bad sources, compromised sources, unacknowledged uncertainties, and the whole text spun through with an alarmist rhetoric that is now either laughable or nauseating, depending on your mood.”
In The Great Terror, Goldberg propagandizes about Saddam Hussein’s non-existent weapons of mass destruction and talks at length about the mythical ties between Saddam and Al-Qaeda, a thoroughly debunked connection that even Dick Cheney himself later had to admit was completely without merit.
“In five years , I believe that the coming invasion of Iraq will be remembered as an act of profound morality,” Goldberg wrote in 2002, a startling example of how spectacularly wrong his forecast turned out to be.
Given this history of bias, agenda-driven and inaccurate reporting, Goldberg’s current Atlantic Monthly article should be dismissed for what it is – an artificially placed example of foreign propaganda – written by a dual citizen with the express purpose of hyping and promoting an attack on Iran.

“The Senate investigation ultimately failed in its efforts to regulate secret foreign media manipulation and lobbying. The AZC transformed into AIPAC, and today The Atlantic is virtually alone among remnants of the battered magazine industry in its return to profitability,” writes Grant Smith. “Jeffrey Goldberg’s prolific work no doubt helps propel that bottom line. But readers should remember the origin of deceptive waves of content that washed ashore in American magazines.”

The U.S. Senate has dropped the House-approved plan that would prepare the United States to defend itself from an attack from electromagnetic pulse, whether it be from a natural solar flare or from a space located nuclear weapon.
This is not surprising. Despite U.S. government knowledge that Russia and China are preparing to strike the west with nuclear, biological and chemical weapons, FEMA says nothing to the American people about preparing for nuclear war. And the federal government, itself, is building at least six new, deep, underground bunkers, specifically to protect government officials from a preemptive nuclear strike — but no warnings to the public.
So obviously, Stan, the feds know this strike is coming. They’re not building bunkers 1/4 mile underground for some local terrorist strike.

Note: I don’t necessarily agree with this author’s entire theory, for I think most evangelical ‘Christians’ do love Israel. The problem is when evangelicals don’t love others as much as they love themselves and Israel — Jesus’ Second Greatest Commandment. That’s where we’re falling short.
But what I bolded in his article is certainly something to consider. For example:
Why are evangelical ‘Christians’ in such a rush to possibly start WWIII based on sketchy evidence. Didn’t we learn anything from Iraq?
Jesus said: “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God.”
Can warmongering ‘Christians’ really be Christians, based upon what Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount? Who would Jesus bomb? WWJB?
And who is being led by the Holy Spirit to bomb more human beings?
Paul said: “Those who are led by the Spirit are the children of God.”
So can warmongering ‘Christians’ (who still won’t repent for supporting the Bush/PNAC wars) really be Christians, based upon what Paul said in Romans 8?
Real Christians follow Christ, are led by the HOLY Spirit (Jesus’ Greatest Commandment), and therefore are a good example to others.
Then there is the rapture factor. “Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran” Christians who are counting on the rapture to get them out of Dodge before the US gets it should consider that if there is a pre-trib rapture (which is suspect, biblically), only those who are right with God and their neighbors (like the Iranians, the Iraqis) would go anyway.

Repubs Plot Israel-Iran Apocalypse and the Collapse of the US Economy
Jamal Abdi at HuffPo explains that almost a third of Republicans in the House have signed on to a resolution urging Israel to attack Iran.

July 24, 2010 “Information Clearing House” –The move is reminiscent of the 1998 letter the Project for a New American Century signatories sent to President Clinton, putting pressure on him to initiate war on Iraq. They did maneuver him into pulling out UN weapons inspectors and bombing Iraq. The US removal of the inspectors made the West blind as to the lack of Iraqi weapons programs, since their absence could no longer be certified. In turn, Iraq’s opaqueness as a result of the Clinton actions allowed the Bill Kristol crowd and the rest of the Israel, war industry and oil lobbies to propagandize America into the fruitless and ruinous Iraq War. Now they are repeating this pattern with regard to Iran.
Think about how weird it is. Nearly half of Republicans in the House are from the South, which has relatively few Jewish Americans. So this resolution is likely emanating from the Christian Zionists like John Hagee (who once said that God sent Hitler to punish the Jews for being outside Israel). It is not impossible that the people behind this resolution are fervently hoping for the Judgment Day to come more quickly and look forward to a Middle East apocalypse as a step toward the Return of Christ and the end of that pesky but temporarily necessary Judaism. In other words, for these right wing Americans to call for Israel to go to war on behalf of America is just one more case of white Christians sacrificing Jews for their own interests and is a form of anti-Semitism.

Reports are circulating that the U.S is amassing a greater military presence in the Middle East. The alleged build up is also rumoured to involve the Israeli use of Saudi Arabian air space. It’s thought by some to be in preparation for an attack on Iran.

An Iranian allegation that Saudi Arabia is allowing Israel to use its terroritory in preparation for attacking Iran nuclear sites has stirred a flurry of reports in the Israeli media.
The allegation could not be independently confirmed, and the Saudis deny cooperating with the Israeli military.
The Jerusalem Post website on Sunday said reports that the Israeli military had established a base in Saudi Arabia originated with Iranian and Israeli news outlets. The Jewish Telegraphic Agency and Ha’aretz were among Israeli media carrying the reports credited to Fars, the semi-official Iranian news agency. The Fars report was also picked up buy international outlets such as UPI.

Ten Stories In The News That The BP Oil Spill Is Overshadowing

The mainstream media is running a 24 hour news cycle focusing purely on the BP oil spill, a disaster, as we have shown, that is being intentionally hyped in order to sell cap and trade legislation and moves to nationalize big business.
In the wake of this, big important news stories are being overlooked. Here are just some of the stories, in no particular order, that you should be hearing on the nightly news, but of course, are not.
1. Israeli nuclear submarines positioned close to Iran:
Three German-built Israeli submarines equipped with nuclear cruise missiles are to be deployed in the Gulf near the Iranian coastline.
The first has been sent in response to Israeli fears that ballistic missiles developed by Iran, Syria and Hezbollah, a political and military organisation in Lebanon, could hit sites in Israel, including air bases and missile launchers.
The submarines of Flotilla 7 — Dolphin, Tekuma and Leviathan — have visited the Gulf before. But the decision has now been taken to ensure a permanent presence of at least one of the vessels.

US intelligence has shown Iran could launch an attack against Europe with “scores or hundreds” of missiles, prompting major changes to US missile defenses, Pentagon chief Robert Gates said on Thursday.
The anti-Iran rhetoric has amplified following the revelation that many Bilderberg members, including Zbigniew Brzezinski, are now in favor of U.S. air strikes on Iran and are “leaning towards war,”.
“Some of them in Europe are saying no we shouldn’t do it but most of them are in favor of American air strikes on Iran,” Bilderberg sluth Jim Tucker relayed from the recent meeting in Spain. “They’re tilting heavily towards green lighting a U.S. attack on Iran.”

3. The continuing economic slide:
The greatest bankster heist in history and the looming greatest depression rumbles on.
Gold has hit record highs as the dollar slumps and the Euro continues to face complete collapse. Unemployment figures in the U.S. are through the roof and U.S. consumer prices posted their largest fall in nearly 1-1/2 years in May.
Rumours in Europe persist regarding an impending bailout for spain, while Russia says it is ready to found a “new economic world order“.

4. FCC ready to restrict the Internet:
The federal government would have “absolute power” to shut down the Internet under the terms of a new US Senate bill being pushed by Joe Lieberman, legislation which would hand President Obama a figurative “kill switch” to seize control of the world wide web in response to a Homeland Security directive.
Lieberman has been pushing for government regulation of the Internet for years under the guise of cybersecurity, but this new bill goes even further in handing emergency powers over to the feds which could be used to silence free speech under the pretext of a national emergency.
5. Obama/Blagojevich story
As the Blagojevich trial continues and important details emerge, linking Obama to possible political corruption, Federal prosecutors are seeking a gag order to keep the ex-Governor and his lawyers from making public comments.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently announced that the Obama Administration would be working hand in glove with the U.N. to pass a new “Small Arms Treaty.”
Congressman Paul Broun warns that, “With willing one-world accomplices in Washington, D.C., gun-grabbers around the globe believe they have it made.” Broun characterizes the U.N.’s Small Arms Treaty as “nothing more than a massive, GLOBAL gun control scheme.”
The treaty would force national governments to acquiesce to a global gun registry, while strengthening licensing procedures so as to make it almost impossible for a citizen to legally purchase a gun. It would also ban the private sale of semi-automatic weapons and ultimately lead to the confiscation and destruction of all “unauthorized” firearms owned by citizens.
By encapsulating the gun grab within a treaty, the Obama administration could claim that no Senate approval is needed to authorize any such move against the right to bear arms – although whether a treaty trumps the Constitution is a very murky area of debate.

7. Mexicans riot in LA/Land given over to Mexico
Violent scenes following the LA Lakers’ championship-clinching win over the Boston Celtics in the NBA finals saw angry mobs smashing their way through the streets waving Mexican flags as they went.
Meanwhile, a massive stretch of Arizona has become effectively off limits to Americans, Prompting questions over whether the Obama administration is giving a major strip of the south-west back to Mexico.

8. Obama Plans To Sneak Through Carbon Tax By Stealth
President Obama is planning to sneak through his job-killing, economy wrecking carbon tax by stealth according to the Washington Post, by passing a weakened bill and then adding in cap and trade provisions after the heat is off following the November elections.
Described as the “lame duck climate strategy,” Obama is planning to secure enough votes in the Senate to pass a weakened energy bill and then drag out the conference long enough to ensure the stronger provisions contained in the original House version are added “after lawmakers have faced voters in November, thereby cushioning the vote’s political impact.”

9. Afghanistan Mineral Riches Story Is War Propaganda
News that the U.S. has suddenly discovered $1 trillion-worth of mineral deposits in Afghanistan, and descriptions of the bounty as a “game changer” by the corporate media, represent nothing more than crude war propaganda designed to reinvigorate public support for a failing and ever more pointless occupation.
The “newly discovered” riches have been known about since the 1970s and further revelations indicate that the Pentagon report cited by the New York Times as their source for the story did not even mention the untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan.

10. Free Speech Gag Bill Moving in House
H.R. 5175, The so-called DISCLOSE Act would severely limit the ability of political groups to communicate to their members and the general public.
Politico reports that , the NRA bargained for an exemption for itself and other large, established groups while trampling the rights of private citizens, new political groups, like Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty, and other small organizations.
As John Bresnahan reports, “The proposal would exempt organizations that have more than 1 million members, have been in existence for more than 10 years, have members in all 50 states and raise 15 percent or less of their funds from corporations… The NRA, with 4 million members, will not actively oppose the DISCLOSE Act, according to Democratic sources.”

“Majorities in many Western and some Muslim countries are willing to consider military action against Iran to prevent the Islamic republic from obtaining nuclear weapons, a global poll showed on Thursday,” reports the Sydney Morning Herald today. “The Pew Research Center’s poll conducted in 22 countries found majorities or pluralities in 16 countries endorsing the possibility of military intervention.”
Naturally Americans are more susceptible to neocon propaganda than other people around the world. In America, a sucker is born every minute, as P. T. Barnum said (actually it was “Paper Collar Joe” Bessimer who made the cynical comment).
“Americans are among the most supportive of a military option to deal with Iran with 66 per cent of those who oppose a nuclear-armed Iran saying they would consider the use of force, a figure second only to Nigeria’s 71 per cent.”
No explanation why Nigerians are more brain-dead than Americans who spend large periods of time sucking up fallacious and absurd propaganda disseminated by a corporate media that works hand-in-glove with transnational corporations and the military-industrial complex, or maybe that should be military-industrial-media complex.
The death merchants have burrowed deep inside the corporate media — the Carlyle Group at the New York Times (the “liberal” newspaper instrumental in propagating neocon murder disinfo prior the invasion of Iraq), Bechtel at NBC (owned by mega-death merchant General Electric), Boeing and Halliburton at ABC, and Lockheed-Martin at Gannett.
Both Fox News and CNN enthusiastically cheered the invasion of Iraq. CNN not only sought advice from the Pentagon on new hires during the invasion, but during a previous invasion the Pentagon ran the show at the news network.
In Europe the numbers are lower — 59 per cent in France think it is OK to mass murder Iranians, while 51 percent of Germans, 50 percent of Spaniards, and 48 percent of Britons approve of bombing Iran. Germans are more than two generations removed from the horrors of Hitler and the bombing of their cities and this in part probably explains why they support such lunacy.
Even Muslims support killing Iranians. In Egypt 55 percent of those polled support engaging in war crimes while 53 percent in Jordan and 44 percent in Lebanon support it (the lower number in Lebanon is probably due to the fact they distinctly remember Israel bombing their country a couple years ago).
“Russians were divided on the use of force, with 32 per cent in each camp, while the Chinese poll respondents favored avoiding a clash by a margin of 43 to 35 per cent; in Japan the priority of avoiding conflict was endorsed by 55 per cent to 34 per cent,” reports the AFP.
Makes sense. Germany killed more than 25 million Russians (and Stalin killed a lot more) and the Chinese probably remember the Japanese murdering and pillaging their way across the country prior to the Second World War. Japan was nuked by the United States twice (90,000–166,000 civilians were killed in Hiroshima and 60,000–80,000 in Nagasaki).
Large numbers of Americans and Europeans also support imposing sanctions on Iran. “The poll found strong opposition to the Iranian nuclear effort and support for stronger sanctions in Spain (79 per cent), Britain (78 per cent), Germany (77 per cent) and France (76 per cent), as well as 67 per cent in Russia and 58 per cent in China.”
Bush Senior, his son, and Clinton made sure “strong” sanctions imposed on Iraq before the U.S. invaded ultimately resulted in the death of more than 500,000 Iraqi children. “This is a very hard choice, but we think the price is worth it,” said Clinton Secretary of State, Madeline Albright.
This “instrument of our policy” — as the globalist Bill Richardson called it — resulted in increased morbidity, mortality, low birth weight babies, infectious disease, malnutrition, epidemics, a break down of health services, and a decrease in available medicines and medical equipment.
Medieval sanctions resulted in decreased agricultural production and a drastic decrease in household diet and caloric intake. The U.S. intentionally used sanctions against Iraq to degrade the country’s water supply. “It knew what the consequences would be: increased outbreaks of disease and high rates of child mortality. And it was more concerned about the public relations nightmare for Washington than the actual nightmare that the sanctions created for innocent Iraqis,” notes Thomas J. Nagy.
Iranians are not likely to accept such a brutal “sanctions regime” imposed on their country by self-righteous globalists. Brainwashed Americans and Europeans believe sanctions and a concerted bombing campaign will deter Iran from building nuclear weapons it does not have the capacity to build (not with the 20% enriched uranium — entirely legal under the NPT — they now manufacture).
In fact, the sanctions (declaring war on Iran) will result in the closure of the Persian Gulf and shortages of oil that will deliver a fatal blow to already teetering western economies.
Pew should conduct a poll after Americans are forced to pay $7 or more for a gallon of gas and prices on just about everything go through the ceiling (most of what we consume is delivered by truck, including the beer and pizza Americans invariably consume while watching war coverage controlled by the military-industrial-complex on television).
Faced with such hardship most of them will probably say Iran should be reduced to a green glass parking lot.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates will join fellow elitists for the first time at the 2010 Bilderberg conference currently taking place in Sitges Spain, after he apparently attempted to pull a bait and switch by pretending to attend another event before being forced to admit to journalists that he will give a speech at the globalist confab.
Gates let slip that he would make his debut at Bilderberg after being asked by journalists from 20 Minutos, a free Spanish newspaper which is published daily in numerous Spanish cities as well as others around the world.
According to the report, Gates told reporters, “I’m one of those who will be present,” adding that he will take part in a debate with fellow globalists on the subjects of “energy and the needs of the poorest,” as well as climate change, renewable energy and the economic crisis.
Indicating that he will also give a speech to the Bilderberg elitists, Gates said, “I hope not to bore.”
It appears as though Gates initially tried to throw reporters off the scent by claiming he was in Barcelona to attend a Global Health Institute conference which was then mysteriously “cancelled”.

Gates’ presence at the elite confab was also confirmed by the German news agency DPA.
The Spanish report also confirms that Spain’s Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero will attend the conference this afternoon, where he will be joined by Queen Beatrix of Holland, ECB Chairman Jean Claude Trichet as well as former U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
Rumsfeld has sporadically attended Bilderberg meetings in the past but he is not a regular visitor to the annual gatherings. For Gates, this is his first time at the conference although his wife Melinda is a regular attendee.
Both Gates and Rumsfeld’s presence at this year’s event indicates that some very important developments are set to unfold over the course of the next 12 months, particularly with regard to Iran as well as the global warming agenda, which has been on the ropes since the Climategate scandal and the failed Copenhagen summit in December.
Gates’ Bilderberg presentation will also likely include information about his eugenicist projects to lower global population figures.

Commentary: At this point I asked Avi about the secret Nautilus laser antiballistic missile system because it is the key to understanding the events that are taking place in the Near East today.
Dr. Stan: We are talking about a massive missile attack [on Israel]. I don’t know whether you can answer this question. Does Israel have an effective anti-missile defense? Many years ago I read an article in the Jerusalem Post about the Nautilus [antiballistic missile system], but the information wasn’t published in the United States. Does Israel have an effective missile defense so that it would be able to defend itself [from] those 85 thousand ballistic missiles? What can you tell me?
Avi Lipkin: Well, what I can tell you is what you already know and that you mentioned. The Jerusalem Post [said] the Nautilus system has been deployed on the ground around Gaza and the Lebanese border in the north, but the trick, and . . . I think we discussed this on your shows in the past, the trick is not the Nautilus on the ground, the trick is Nautilus in the air, and that is another reason for trying to postpone the war until the spring or the summer. If it’s not in the air, and you have a cloudy day, the Nautilus [system] doesn’t work because the clouds dissipate the strength of the [laser] beams.
Now, by the way, President Obama – I read his speeches and he says things that scare me. He was talking about the outdated 747s with some kind of a laser beam technology that he was going to try to veto . . . and that is the Nautilus. They give it another name and they say it will be in . . . two or three years, but the fact is the laser beam [is] from a U.S. Air Force 747 aircraft, [they] have been tested, and they succeed, so I would say that probably those things are up in the air already.
You know the U.S. . . . and the Israeli Military [aren’t] going to tell you what they have or what they don’t have. If it was in the Jerusalem Post, that the Nautilus is deployed on the ground, that was a one-time mistake by the censorship, and I never saw it again in the Israel papers.
Dr. Stan: . . . Neither did I. Every article I found said Nautilus is experimental . . . [but] I am certain the Israelis would never allow their country to be placed in a position where it could be annihilated by a barrage of Arab missiles. Would you agree that is probably right?
When I asked Avi Lipkin for additional information about the secret Nautilus antiballistic missile system that is deployed in Israel, he avoided my question by telling a joke.
Avi Lipkin: You know what? Let me tell you a joke. This is a joke that goes back to the Six-Day War in 1967, and the joke applies to me, too. The joke is an Israeli joke, (and) the joke goes as follows: an Israeli, a Frenchman, and an Irishman are taken captive by the cannibals . . . the cannibals tie them up to cook them, and the chief of the cannibals says, . . . “I know (that) if you guys die happy, your flesh . . . tastes better, so we are going to give you a last request so you will die happy.” So the Frenchman, his last request is a bottle of wine (because) if he drinks the whole bottle of wine and he gets smashed, then he won’t feel when he is burning to death. The Irishman wants a bottle of whiskey because if he drinks the bottle of whiskey, he will be smashed and he won’t feel (the pain). And the Israeli says, “Later.” So the Frenchman gets his bottle of wine, and says, “Viva la France,” and he gets smashed. The Irishman says, . . .”Long live Ireland,” and he gets smashed, and the Israeli says, “Later.” . . . The chief of the cannibals says, “Later is now. We are hungry and we’re going to eat you now.” So the Israel says, “Give me a kick in the butt,” and curses the chief of the cannibals. The chief of the cannibals gives him a kick in the butt and the Israeli, all of a sudden, unties himself, pulls out his Uzi and shoots the cannibals. . . .
