President Barack Obama violated his own rules for the use of drone strikes in a December 2013 strike on a wedding procession in Yemen, a new report from Human Rights Watch says. The US military initially claimed that the procession was actually members of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, then admitted it was a wedding procession, but claimed that most of the people killed in the attack were members of the terrorist organization. But Human Rights Watch says, “The procession also may have included members of AQAP, although it is not clear who they were or what was their fate.” The group went on to say that there is no evidence that members of the caravan posed an imminent threat, and that killing them was a violation of international human rights laws. RT’s Meghan Lopez speaks with investigative journalist Ben Swann about US drone policy and whether the attack was a violation of Obama’s own stated rules.

The individual is just one of the basic elements of freedom at large. If the social scientists who work for the global elite can find a way to de-intensify the influence of the individual on the public, they will. One way the globalists accomplish this group-think is through good old fashioned bread and circus. One of the modern versions of this is, of course, the NFL. Infowars welcomes guest Brian Tuohy, author of “The Fix Is In” to discuss the corruption inside the NFL. If you go along with this paradigm of illusion you will lose your liberty, freedom and individualism.

Evangelicals, Militarism, and Romans 13 (Preston Sprinkle)
This post is the 3d in a series of three by Preston Sprinkle, whose information is at the bottom of this post.
In my last post, I showed that the Old Testament actually condemns militarism, even though it sanctions (on some occasions) warfare and violence. But most who defend militarism race past the Old Testament and camp out on Romans 13:1-7, a passage with a checkered, and quite frightful, interpretive history. Adolph Hitler, Robert Mugabe, and other recent “Christian” dictators have celebrated the passage as their divine ticket to execute justice on whomever they deemed to be enemies of the state. Not more than a generation ago, Romans 13 was hailed as the charter for apartheid in South Africa, and as did American Christian leaders during the years of slavery and, nearer at hand, the years of segregation. If the state mandates that blacks can’t drink from the same water fountain as whites, they very well have the divine right to say so.
Most now would see such a view of Romans 13 as going a bit too far. But only a bit. Wayne Grudem, for instance, says that the “sword in the hand of good government is God’s designate weapon to defeat evildoers” (Politics, 407), and goes on to apply this to America’s wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. (I don’t mean to keep singling out Grudem, but his views are recent and, from what I’ve found, representative of much of Evangelical thinking.) In fact, Romans 13; being ubiquitously cited throughout Grudem’s book, is given a near-John 3:16 status: the definitive lens through which Christians should think about war. The assumption, of course, is that America is the good nation and Iraq and Afghanistan are the bad nations. Maybe they are, but who gets to determine who is good and who is bad? Were it flipped around and Romans 13 was used to validated Pakistan’s or Iraq’s invasion of America as punishment for horrific drone strikes killing civilians and children, or wholesale slaughter of women and children in, for instance, southern Kandahar or Haditha, most would see this as a mis-reading of Romans 13.
However, although Romans 13 has been taken to celebrate violence, praise the government, or vindicate Just War Theory (or just warfare in general), the passage actually does none of these. Here’s why.
First, Romans 13 does not speak of Rome’s warfare policy against foreign nations, but of its police and judicial action toward its own citizens. Paul’s phrase “bear the sword” (13:4) refers to police action within a government’s jurisdiction, not warfare outside its territory. Using this text to support, for instance, America’s war in Iraq goes beyond what Paul is actually saying. Waging war against another nation—even in the name of preemptive strike—does not reflect Paul’s point in Romans 13.
Second, the passage does not tell the church to “obey” governing authorities, but “submit to” such authorities. Now, submission sometimes involves obedience, and obedience sometimes involves submission; there’s an overlap in meaning. But it’s important to note that Paul does not use one of the typical Greek words for “obey” here (peitharkein, peithesthai, and upakouein). The difference is that Christians “obey” the law of Christ, receiving their moral marching orders from their King. And in as much as the laws of the state don’t conflict with the law of Christ, they obey. But they do so out of allegiance to God, not out of an uncritical allegiance to the state. Don’t revolt against the government, in other words. Honor it, pray for it, work for its good and pay the taxes that it demands. But always remember you are aliens living in exile in Babylon, Rome—or America. Or in the words of famed NT scholar, C.E.B. Cranfield: Submission to the state means “respecting them, obeying them so far as such obedience does not conflict with God’s laws, and seriously and responsibly disobeying them when it does” (Cranfield, Romans, 662).
Third, Paul’s statement reflects a widespread truth in the Old Testament about God working through secular nations to carry out His will. For instance, the Old Testament calls many political figures “God’s servant,” such as Cyrus king of Persia (Isa 44-45), Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon (Jer 27:6; 43:10), and the ruthlessly wicked nation of Assyria (Isa 10:5), which God calls the “club of my wrath” and the “rod of my anger.” The phrase “God’s servant” doesn’t refer to Rome’s happy service to Israel’s God, but to God’s ability to use Rome as an instrument in His hands. Just because God uses secular (and sometimes quite evil) institutions to carry out His will, does not mean that God approves of everything they do—whether it be Assyria’s sadistic practice of skinning civilians alive, or Rome’s crucifixion of thousands of innocent people in the first century. God can still channel such evil to carry out His will (Gen 50:20; Judges 14:4). This doesn’t mean that He approves of the evil itself.
Fourth, the main activity God does through governments is to punish evil and reward good. But what does Paul mean here? Does every government always justly punish evil and reward good? Ya right. Rome was the same government that beheaded John the Baptist, clubbed Paul on several occasions, and crucified an innocent Jew named Jesus. In fact, just a few years after Paul penned Romans 13; Caesar Nero would dip Christians in tar, light them on fire, and set them up as human illumination for his garden. All in the name of keeping peace and executing justice. So Paul doesn’t write Rome a blank check to do whatever it wants to do. Paul’s statement that Rome is “God’s servant for your good” and “an avenger who carries out wrath on the wrongdoer” must mean that God can and does work justice through governments, but not everything governments do can be labeled justice, as a quick glance at the morning paper will verify. Romans 13 does not sanitized all governing activities and it should be read alongside Revelation 13 and 17-18 to get a more comprehensive NT view on government.
The final point is the most significant for the church. If you miss this point, then you won’t understand what Paul is saying to citizens of God’s kingdom in Romans 13. When Paul says that God executes vengeance through Rome, it was to further prohibit, not encourage, Christians from doing so. Compare these two statements, which are only a few verses apart:
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” (Rom 12:19)
For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out the wrath of God on the wrongdoer. (Rom 13:4)
Paul makes the claim that God’s wrath and vengeance is carried out through Rome seconds after he commanded the church not to carry out wrath and vengeance. Vengeance is God’s business, not ours. We don’t need to avenge evil, because we believe that God will. And one way that God will avenge is through governing authorities. In terms of Paul’s actual argument, Romans 13 only confirms what he said in Romans 12: Bless those who persecute you, love your enemy, don’t avenge evil, and submit to your governing authorities. Far from encouraging Christians to kill in war, Romans 13underscores the church’s peaceful posture in a violent world.
Romans 13 cannot be used to foster a militaristic spirit among citizens of God’s kingdom.

There are differences and similarities between Apartheid South Africa and Israeli-occupied Palestine. Israeli officials point to the differences to refute claims the occupation policies constitute apartheid. However, apartheid means separate as well as applying policies of segregation and social and economic discrimination. Palestinians are subjected to a military court system, while Israelis are under the jurisdiction of a civil court system; a segregated school system within historic Palestine; loss of freedom of movement because of the Apartheid Wall, which has forced Palestinians in the West Bank into isolated cantons. Palestinians in Gaza are segregated and locked inside the world’s largest open-air prison. Former South African Prime Minister Hendrick Verwoerdt himself called Israel an “Apartheid state.” (Rand Daily Mail, Nov. 23, 1961).
In Israel, Jews and Palestinians are labeled from birth and treated differently throughout their lives. They have unequal access to social and economic privileges including land, education, employment and social welfare. 1, 43
Separate is never equal
The descendants of Palestinians that remained in Israel after the 1948 war are now over 1 million people, approximately 20 percent of the population. These Palestinians face rampant discrimination. The discrimination is sometimes from individuals and other times, systemic and codified in law. 2, 44
This is heavy.
In this article, Oliver Stone and Peter Kuznick start out with this list of U.S. “unpopular wars and repression that includes Iran, Guatemala, Cuba, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Greece, Indonesia, Chile, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan.”
And then they make this poignant statement about American exceptionalism and the Vietnam war memorial.

Oliver Stone: The myth of American exceptionalism
As a nation, we need to drop the notion that we are outstanding.
Oliver Stone and Peter Kuznick
[…]
The U.S. invasion of Vietnam is the most egregious case of external aggression by any nation in the post-WWII era. Martin Luther King, America’s greatest moral voice since the Second World War, said, “If America’s soul becomes totally poisoned, part of the autopsy must read: Vietnam.” However, a recent Gallup poll found that 51% of Americans between the ages of 18 and 29 believe the war was “not a mistake.” In May 2012, Obama announced a 13-year “commemoration” of the Vietnam War, honoring those Americans who fought “heroically to protect the ideals we hold dear as Americans.”
We wonder which ideals, exactly, Obama was referring to. A few years before his death, former secretary of Defense Robert McNamara told students at American University that 3.8 million Vietnamese died in that war. Most college students, when asked in informal surveys, place the number at a quarter of that amount or less. The Vietnam Memorial Wall in D.C. contains the names of 58,272 Americans who died in the war. Its message is that the tragedy of that wretched war was that 58,000 Americans died. The wall is 146 feet long.
Imagine a wall that also contained the names of all the Vietnamese, Cambodians, Laotians, and others who died. Such a wall would be over 4 miles long. It would not only be a fitting memorial to all the victims of “American exceptionalism,” it would be a perfect tombstone for that most dangerous of American myths.

Author Ben Sherman writes “Can you think of anything that kills the vibe faster than a woman fearing a back-alley abortion? Making abortion essentially inaccessible in Texas will add an anxiety to sex that will drastically undercut its joys. And don’t be surprised if casual sex outside of relationships becomes far more difficult to come by.”

The woman giving the speech is saying, “We have doctors down in Houston who are butchering women, butchering children…” and the pro-abortion people raise their voices, singing and chanting, “Hail Satan! Hail Satan!” over and over again.
Later, pro-life advocates sang, “Amazing Grace,” completing the contrast between the abortion foes and the abortion advocates (who literally worship Satan).
Even the Church of Satan was offended
The chanting of “Hail Satan” garnered the attention of the UK Church of Satan which was offended by it. The church actually tweeted, “Unfortunate to see Satan’s name used in such a diabolical manner.”
Apparently the butchering of 20-week old children is too diabolical for even Satan! But it’s considered a “right” by U.S. abortion advocates.
Obviously, not all abortion activists are Satan worshippers, but you’ll notice that none of them have denounced the Satanists, either. By failing to denounce it, they effectively embrace and welcome Satan worship as part of their cause.
Note that Texas is not trying to ban all abortions; it’s only banning abortions after 20 weeks. You truly have to wonder what kind of woman keeps a baby for 20 weeks and then changes her mind and decides to kill it. This isn’t abortion; it’s the murder of a viable, conscious human being that’s more than 50% of the way toward birth (babies are typically born at 38 weeks).
It is very difficult for any rational argument to be made that aborting a baby that’s 20, 25 or 30 weeks old isn’t the killing of a human being. http://www.infowars.com/abortion-acti…

How the Pentagon Papers Came to be Published By the Beacon Press Told by Daniel Ellsberg & Others
Forty-one years ago, Beacon Press lost a Supreme Court case brought against it by the U.S. government for publishing the first full edition of the Pentagon Papers. It is now well known how The New York Times first published excerpts of the top-secret documents in June 1971, but less well known is how the Beacon Press, a small nonprofit publisher affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association, came to publish the complete 7,000 pages that exposed the true history of U.S. involvement in Vietnam. Their publication led the Beacon press into a spiral of two-and-a-half years of harassment, intimidation, near bankruptcy and the possibility of criminal prosecution. This is a story that has rarely been told in its entirety. In 2007, Amy Goodman moderated an event at the Unitarian Universalist conference in Portland, Oregon, commemorating the publication of the Pentagon Papers and its relevance today. Today, we hear the story from three men at the center of the storm: former Pentagon and RAND Corporation analyst, famed whistleblower, Daniel Ellsberg, who leaked the Pentagon Papers to The New York Times; former Alaskan senator and presidential candidate Mike Gravel, who tells the dramatic story of how he entered the Pentagon Papers into the congressional record and got them to the Beacon Press; finally, Robert West, the former president of the Unitarian Universalist Association. We begin with Ellsberg, who Henry Kissinger once described as “the world’s most dangerous man.”
[…]
I read in the paper about a Senator Gravel, whom I really didn’t know much about, from Alaska, who was conducting a filibuster against the draft, which was exactly what should have been done. By the way, I had raised as a litmus test—I probably never told Mike this—I had raised the idea of a filibuster with a number of senators as a litmus test to see whether they were the kind of person who might go one step beyond that and maybe put out these papers. And in every case I got serious answers—they weren’t frivolous—but the point was, as Senator Goodell put it to me, “Dan, in my business, you can’t afford to look ridiculous. You cannot afford to be laughed at.” And he said, “If I could find other people who would join me, I would do it.” I heard that, by the way—I’ll mention—each name I’m mentioning here is very—the top people in the Senate. Senator—oh, darn, at my age I forget some of these names—but anyway, other senators said much the same: “If I could find somebody else to go with me, I would do it, but I can’t do it by myself. I would look foolish. I can’t afford that.”
So here was a senator [Mike Gravel] who was not afraid to look foolish, basically, and that’s the fear that keeps people in line all there lives. Don’t get out of line. It’s the kind of thing you learn at your mother’s knee to get along, go along—your father’s knee. And don’t stick out, don’t make yourself look, you know—don’t raise your head, sort of this thing, and look ridiculous. But he wasn’t afraid to do that on a transcendent issue like the draft in the middle of this war. So I thought, “OK, maybe this is the guy.” I hadn’t met—I had met the other ones before, I knew them. So I didn’t know him. I said, “OK, he’s doing a filibuster.”
Here is my heart on this:
And Alex isn’t exaggerrating. For example, from my many links at the bottom of this post:
Also, I agree that homosexuals have the absolute right to live together, but then ADOPT CHILDREN? What about the children?! This is the main reason I oppose this. Legalizing homosexual ‘marriage’ gives homosexuals the full legality to bring up other people’s children…. This is a Satanic, end-of-America agenda — with that goal in mind by the PTB, who are almost all into this, themselves. See links below.
And this is why this is happening — when ‘Christians’ fall into temptation in heterosexual lust, etc., and never get fully free through Christ — thinking they can go to heaven no matter what:

People go ‘hey, let people live together, live in peace.’ That’s how it is on the surface, but this agenda in the textbooks, in the plans…. You see how anti-family Hollywood is. You see the agenda. You see how anti-man it is. This is a social engineering program to break down society, on record.”
“They are artificially trying to amplify it, unnaturally, with chemicals in the food and water to reduce our population numbers and to break up the family.”

The decision is a landmark win for the gay rights movement. It voids a section of the law known as DOMA, which was adopted with bipartisan support in Congress in 1996 to deny all benefits and recognition to same-sex couples.
At that time, no state permitted gays and lesbians to marry. Now, 12 states and the District of Columbia authorize same-sex marriages. http://www.prisonplanet.com/gay-marri…

Because in the Garden of Eden, Satan offered Adam and Eve the right to decide for themselves what was right and wrong — when God told them, ‘don’t do that. Thou shalt not eat from the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,’ which means: you’re not supposed to decide what’s right and wrong. You’re supposed to listen to Me. Because when you decide, you’re going to make everything that’s wrong right.
Minute-45 Dr. Stan and then Ralph:
“I believe we should fear God. And if we don’t fear God and fear what’s going on we’re not going to keep His commandments. Why should we? What are your thoughts on that, Ralph.”
“I agree with you, Dr. Stan. Our church is no longer a flame with righteous indignation. And that’s the problem. We’re not being taught about sin and evil. I keep wondering, when are they going to start talking about being honest in your business dealing? Every time we turn around there’s more scandal…. What happened to basic morality?”

More than that it begs the question “Do you have what it takes to pull the trigger on a fellow citizen?”

So instead of learning the valuable lesson from what Bradley Manning released, the warmongers successfully demonized the messenger. Almost everyone has heard the mantra that Bradley “put the troops in harms way.”

Anderson Cooper speaking to Julian Assange on Anderson Cooper 360 (CNN), 6/10/13, transcribed by Jeff Fenske:
“When WikiLeaks published the huge trough of communications and documents that Bradley Manning allegedly provided to you, many in the administration and in Congress very publicly, loudly said this caused tremendous damage to the U.S. — put hundreds of people at risk. What’s interesting is that since then, if you do research on it, U.S. officials have actually said that the information WikiLeaks published did not really significantly compromise U.S. security.
I read an article in 2010. Then Defense Secretary Bob Gates said the revelations were embarrassing and awkward, but he’s called them “fairly modest” in terms of the consequences on foreign policy.
There was talk that this was going to hurt Afghans. They were going to get attacked by the Taliban because of some of the revelations. An official told CNN, I think it was in 2010, that they didn’t have to move any of the Afghans because of the revelations.”

Defense Secretary Robert Gates has been pretty tough on leakers and leaks, but he made clear Tuesday that he’s not among those who take an almost apocalyptic view of the public release of 250,000 diplomatic cables obtained by WikiLeaks.
“I’ve heard the impact of these releases on our foreign policy described as a meltdown, as a game-changer, and so on….I think those descriptions are fairly significantly overwrought,” Gates said during a press conference on the Pentagon’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” report. “The fact is, governments deal with the United States because it’s in their interest, not because they like us, not because they trust us, and not because they believe we can keep secrets.”
“Is this embarrassing? Yes. Is it awkward? Yes,” Gates continued. “Consequences for U.S. foreign policy? I think fairly modest.”
Gates conceded that the WikiLeaks release, which seems to be the product of the same leak that led to criminal charges against Army Pvt. Bradley Manning….

“Even if you’re not doing anything wrong, you’re being watched and recorded. The storage capability of these systems increases every year, consistently, by orders of magnitude, to where it’s getting to the point where you don’t have to have done anything wrong, you simply have to eventually fall under suspicion from somebody, even by a wrong call, and then they can use this system to go back in time and scrutinize every decision you’ve ever made, every friend you’ve ever discussed something with, and attack you on that basis, to sort of derive suspicion from an innocent life and paint anyone in the context of a wrongdoer.

The great fear that I have regarding the outcome for America of these disclosures is that nothing will change. People will see in the media all of these disclosures, they’ll know the lengths that government is going to to grant themselves powers, unilaterally, to create greater control over American society and global society. But they won’t be willing to take the risks necessary to stand up and fight to change things, to force their representatives to actually take a stand in their interests. And in the months ahead, the years ahead, it’s only going to get worse. Until eventually there will be a time where policies will change because the only thing that restricts the activities of the surveillance state are policy. They’ll say that… because of the crisis, the dangers that we face in the world, some new and unpredicted threat, we need more authority, we need more power, and there will be nothing the people can do at that point to oppose it. And it will be turnkey tyranny.

Published on May 28, 2013
Senior Counsel for the World Bank legal department reports corruption to US Congress, the World Bank’s other member countries, and the public.
Karen Hudes studied law at Yale Law School and economics at the University of Amsterdam. She worked in the US Export Import Bank of the US from 1980-1985 and in the Legal Department of the World Bank from 1986-2007. She established the Non Governmental Organization Committee of the International Law Section of the American Bar Association and the Committee on Multilateralism and the Accountability of International Organizations of the American Branch of the International Law Association. What did Karen Hudes blow the whistle on? In 2007 Karen warned the US Treasury Department and US Congress that the US would lose its right to appoint the President of the World Bank if the current American President of the World Bank did not play by the rules.
I can see why Alex hasn’t had Wayne Allyn Root on. Wayne points this fact out during the interview.
I agree with Mike Adams. We must keep our hands clean, and not support evil.
At minute-23 into this discussion, Root gives some investment advice, and recommends investing in Big Pharma, knowing how unethical they are, under the justification that he’ll make money so he can take care of his family. “The end justifies the means” — “the morality of an action is based solely on the outcome of that action and not on the action itself.”
Beware of “the love of money,” which the Bible calls “the root of all evil.” I think it’s an actual demon that drives people to do immoral things.
This guy is part of the problem. We must be free! : )
