Whole Foods caught in GMO marketing deception, false advertising – here’s the proof

(NaturalNews) A bombshell investigative video just released by Infowars.com has exposed what can only be called false and misleading advertising by Whole Foods. It all began when InfoWars reporters Aaron Dykes and Melissa Melton visited Whole Foods last week to try to find out what customers thought about Whole Foods stores selling so many unlabeled genetically modified foods. That fact was recently admitted by Whole Foods in its own blog post.
As you can see in the video, some customers were shocked to discover that Whole Foods sells GMOs in their store. The majority of Whole Foods customers, it turned out, had no idea the company was selling GMO.

While talking with customers on camera, Aaron Dykes and Melissa Melton were approached by a Whole Foods executive named Libba Letton. She handles investor relations with Whole Foods, and she’s also in charge of food safety. In an on-camera interview, she admitted that Whole Foods stores do sell unlabeled GMOs, but her justification for that was that stores everywhere are selling unlabeled GMOs.

As she stated on camera (see video, below):

“Unless a store is all organic, every store in the country sells unlabeled genetically modified [foods].” – Libba Letton, Whole Foods Market Inc.

On the issue of GMOs, then, Whole Foods is no better than Safeway, or Kroger or even Wal-Mart.

But then Libba said something that will no doubt haunt her and the entire Whole Foods executive team for years to come:

“I don’t think that Whole Foods does anything to try and make people think that we don’t have food with GMOs in them,” she said on camera.

“NOTHING ARTIFICIAL, EVER!”

Libba’s statement is, as you’ll see below, a blatant deception. Because as the Infowars video shows, Aaron and Melissa located a Whole Foods store in Austin with a giant logo emblazed on the side of the store. As you can see in the photo below, the logo declares: NOTHING ARTIFICIAL, EVER.

So how can Whole Foods claim “NOTHING ARTIFICIAL, EVER” when even the company’s own top executives admit its stores are knowingly selling artificially engineered, genetically altered ingredients?

The answer, of course, is that Whole Foods is engaged in false advertising and misrepresentation.

The definition of “false advertising” is:

…the crime or tort of publishing, broadcasting, or otherwise publicly distributing an advertisement that contains an untrue, misleading, or deceptive representation or statement which was made knowingly or recklessly and with the intent to promote the sale of property, goods, or services to the public.

A question, then: Is Whole Foods making untrue, misleading or deceptive statements with the intent to promote the sale of goods to the public?

Absolutely. Without question.

The claim emblazed on the front of the Whole Foods stores, as proven in this Infowars video, says, “NOTHING ARTIFICIAL, EVER.” And yet the company openly admits to selling an entire array products in its stores which contain artificially-modified ingredients such as GM corn.

So how are artificially modified grains not artificial? It doesn’t add up. The marketing claim is false.

GMOs are artificial

You might wonder, “What’s the definition of artificial?”

Here it is from Dictionary.com:

Artificial: made by human skill; produced by humans (opposed to natural)

And what, you might ask, is the definition of GMO?

Genetically modified organism: an organism or microorganism whose genetic material has been altered by means of genetic engineering.

“Altering” the DNA of an organism is, by definition, artificial (i.e. not natural). “Engineering” the DNA of seed is accomplished by human skill, hence it is “artificial” in the same vein as “artificial color” or “artificial flavor.”

GMOs are, of course, blatantly artificial. No one can argue with a straight face that GMOs are “natural.” The very definition of the term “modified” (in the context of GMOs) means modified by humans to create something that nature did not create on its own. Nature does not cross-pollinate humans, insects and plants, for example. But human genetic engineers do!

So Whole Foods’ claim of “NOTHING ARTIFICIAL, EVER” has no basis in fact. It is marketing deception, pure and simple. False advertising. Blatantly misleading. That Whole Foods’ own food safety executive says, on camera, that “I don’t think that Whole Foods does anything to try and make people think that we don’t have food with GMOs in them” is pure bull. It’s the kind of statement you might expect to hear from a Monsanto spokesperson, or from the TSA claiming “our radiation scanners are SAFE!”

What is the purpose of this deceptive marketing, you might ask? To trick customers, of course, into falsely believing Whole Foods sells nothing artificial.

No wonder so many customers and even Whole Foods employees are convinced that Whole Foods sells no GMO! This was revealed in a recent Organic Spies video that was banned by YouTube because it dared to engage in actual investigative journalism.

Whole Foods carries out false and misleading marketing

The claim about “NOTHING ARTIFICIAL, EVER” is part of a grand bait-and-switch scheme of consumer deception carried out by Whole Foods. Publicly, Whole Foods runs advertising and uses corporate messages that claim it sells absolutely nothing artificial, but once you’re inside the store, a huge number of products on the shelves contain not only GMOs but also hidden forms of MSG, too. Just check the labels of foods sold by Whole Foods, and you’ll see masses of products made with yeast extract and torula yeast — both are hidden forms of MSG.

On its own web page, Whole Foods describes its “quality standards.” Those standards include the following six points:

1) We carefully evaluate each and every product we sell.

2) We feature foods that are free of artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, sweeteners, and hydrogenated fats.

3) We are passionate about great tasting food and the pleasure of sharing it with others.

4) We are committed to foods that are fresh, wholesome and safe to eat.

5) We seek out and promote organically grown foods.

6) We provide food and nutritional products that support health and well-being.

If point #1 is true, then Whole Foods “carefully evaluates” products containing GMOs and then accepts them into the store anyway! The company is fully aware that it sells GMO ingredients, but doesn’t seem to think this is a problem, even when GMOs are not labeled on its foods, thereby deceiving customers . How is this anything resembling honesty?

On point #4, the store says it is “committed” to foods that are “safe to eat.” Is the company not aware of the recent French research showing rats fed a lifetime of GM corn developed massive, horrifying cancer tumors?

Importantly, that’s the same Monsanto GM corn found in many products sold by Whole Foods!

If Whole Foods is committed to safe food, why is it still selling unlabeled GMOs throughout all its stores, especially when those same GMOs are seen as so dangerous around the world that they’ve been banned in numerous countries already?

Point #6 claims the company provides products that “support health and well-being.” And that’s true. Whole Foods does sell many high-quality nutritional products and certified organic food items. But that’s not all they sell. They also sell products made largely with Monsanto’s genetically modified corn and other GMOs. To say “we sell healthy products” while simultaneously selling products containing an unlabeled ingredient widely suspected of causing cancer is a kind of market sleight of hand. It’s an effort to say here, watch what we’re doing over here with organics but pay no attention to all the GMOs we’re selling.

To put a giant logo on the side of the store claiming “NOTHING ARTIFICIAL, EVER” while secretly selling unlabeled GMOs all across the store is nothing less than deceptive, misleading marketing. If Whole Foods were to be totally honest with customers, it would need to add point #7:

7) We sell unlabeled GMOs and we have no intention of ever telling you about them. When you shop at Whole Foods, it’s sort of like a nutritional mine field. Good luck, customers, because you’re on your own!

Two former CIA officials have admitted to creating a fake video in which intelligence officers dressed up as Osama Bin Laden and his cronies in an effort to defame the terrorist leader throughout the middle east.

The details are outlined in a Washington Post article by investigative reporter and former Army Intelligence case officer Jeff Stein.

Stein’s sources told him that during planning for the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the CIA’s Iraq Operations Group considered creating a fake video of Saddam Hussein engaged in sexual acts with a teenage boy, then flooding Iraq with copies of the tape.

That idea, along with faking Iraqi news bulletins, never came to fruition according to the former CIA officials, because agreement on the projects could not be reached between the Iraq Group and CIA’s Office of Technical Services.

However, the two sources reveal that the agency did previously concoct at least one fake Bin Laden video:

The agency actually did make a video purporting to show Osama bin Laden and his cronies sitting around a campfire swigging bottles of liquor and savoring their conquests with boys, one of the former CIA officers recalled, chuckling at the memory. The actors were drawn from “some of us darker-skinned employees,” he said.

The former officials told Stein that the project was taken over by the military after it ground to a halt:

The reality, the former officials said, was that the agency really didn’t have enough money and expertise to carry out the projects.

“The military took them over,” said one. “They had assets in psy-war down at Ft. Bragg,” at the army’s special warfare center.

This latest revelation bolsters evidence that the intelligence agencies, and perhaps more significantly, the military have been engaged in creating fake Bin Laden videos in the past.

As we have exhaustively documented, Intelcenter, the U.S. monitoring group that routinely releases Bin Laden video and audio, much of which have been proven to be either rehashed old footage or outright fakes, is an offshoot of IDEFENSE, a web security company that monitors intelligence from the middle east.

IDEFENSE is heavily populated by long serving ex military intelligence officials, such as senior military psy-op intelligence officer Jim Melnick, who served 16 years in the US army and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in psychological operations. Melnick has also worked directly for former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

Intelcenter notoriously released the “laughing hijackers” tape and claimed it was an Al-Qaeda video, despite the fact that the footage was obtained by a “security agency” at a 2000 Bin Laden speech.

IntelCenter was also caught adding its logo to a tape at the same time as Al-Qaeda’s so-called media arm As-Sahab added its logo, proving the two organizations were one and the same.

Could the CIA group of “dark skinned actors” have been behind the infamous December 2001 “Fat nosed” Bin Laden video, that was magically found in a house in Jalalabad after anti-Taliban forces moved in?

The tape featured a fat Osama laughing and joking about how he’d carried out 9/11. The video was also mistranslated in order to manipulate viewer opinion and featured “Bin Laden” praising two of the hijackers, only he got their names wrong. This Osama also used the wrong hand to write with and wore gold rings, a practice totally in opposition to the Muslim faith.

Despite the fact that the man in the video looks nothing like Bin Laden, the CIA stood by it and declared it to be the official “9/11 confession video”.

The latest revelations also shed light on another past Bin Laden release – a tape in which he ludicrously declared himself in league with Saddam Hussein in the weeks before the invasion of Iraq.

The notion that the CIA project was taken over and drastically improved by the Pentagon at some point after 2003 jives with the improvement in quality of Bin Laden videos in later years. Most notably the video that was released immediately ahead of the 2004 election, and it’s digitally manipulatedduplicate from 2007, in which Bin Laden appeared to have a dyed beard.

ROOSEVELT KNEW ABOUT PEARL HARBOR BEFORE IT HAPPENED!

On December 7, 1941, the Japanese navy and air force attacked the United States army, navy and air force units at PEARL HARBOR, HAWAII in what was called “A SURPRISE ATTACK.”

The next day, President Franklin Roosevelt called the attack “A DAY OF INFAMY,” and asked Congress for a Declaration of War.

It was granted, and America was in WORLD WAR TWO.

A few years ago, I saw a photo copy of the HILO, HAWAII TRIBUNE HERALD newspaper of November 30, 1941, the Sunday before the attack. I called the library in HILO, HAWAII and they photocopied the top half of their front page and sent it to me.

The HEADLINE of this newspaper reads:

JAPAN MAY STRIKE OVER WEEKEND

meaning the following weekend, Saturday, December 6th and Sunday, December 7th, 1941.

ASK YOURSELF THIS QUESTION:

How could this NEWSPAPER KNOW IN ADVANCE, but PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT DID NOT KNOW?

One could reasonably conclude that PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT’S INTELLIGENCE SOURCES were better than the NEWSPAPERS!

In other words, NINE CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATIONS WERE WRONG: President ROOSEVELT had to have known ……… even a Hawaii newspaper knew!!!

I’ve now seen the movie, Dreams of My REAL Father. I’ve wondered for years how Obama can so frequently lie; though, it didn’t seem to bother his heart, appearing as a lie. But if he was trained by his real father to believe that Communism is best for America, then our President’s Communist ends justify his deceptive means.
It’s far beyond socialism. Obama also had a close association with extreme communist radical Bill Ayers, and his real history shows his deep involvement with other communist party radicals.
The film also shows what Obama’s role as community organizer really was: a socialism change agent.
Very sinister and telling.
However, I think the movie tries to say too much in 95 minutes. It either should have been longer or simplified. This DVD covers a lot of ground, much of it new. And the narrator (acting as Obama in first person) gives key facts while we’re shown portions of key articles to read. To get everything, I found myself frequently pausing and rewinding parts.
It can be watched straight through to get the big picture though. It’s definitely worth watching!

Important! Real olive oil is very healthy, whereas most cooking oils sold today aren’t.
Costco’s Kirkland Signature Extra Virgin Olive Oil (First Cold Pressed) does usually solidify when refrigerated, in my experience. There have been times when it hasn’t. Hmmm.
To test this solidifying theory, I just bought a bottle at the regular grocery store which was more than twice as expensive as Costco’s, De Cecco brand, which claims only Italian olives. And it didn’t solidify at all in the fridge. I’m taking it back, unopened.
And I’m not sure what to do, in that Costco’s EVOO isn’t reliable either.

You thought you were making an informed health choice by using extra-virgin olive oil in place of cheaper, low-quality cooking oils, right? How to recognize genuine extra virgin olive oil

It’s difficult to tell by taste if the brand of olive oil you buy is truly extra virgin. Even the experts get stumped during taste tests. There are two ways that give a hint whether you have the real thing or a fake. Neither is absolutely fool proof; however, they will rule out the hardcore fakes.

Extra virgin olive oil solidifies when it’s cold. When the bottle is placed in the refrigerator, it should become cloudy and thicken or even solidify. As it warms on the counter, it becomes liquid again. Any oil that doesn’t thicken in the fridge is not pure EVOO — simple as that.

Additionally, the real McCoy is flammable and should be able to keep a wick from an oil lamp burning. If your oil doesn’t, it is not pure EVOO.

A widely popular reality-TV show that helps families look for a home might not be “reality” at all, according to one family’s account, who say they had to buy the house before the show began shooting.

HGTV’s “House Hunters” takes prospective buyers through three different houses, offering viewers a quick guessing game as to which home they will choose. Thirty minutes later, the family makes their pick.

Bobi Jensen says that’s not the case after she and her husband were featured on the show in 2006. “They kind of wait to make sure you close on your house and that you’re actually going to be ready to film for them, ” Jensen said.

Jensen recently blogged about her behind-the-scenes experience, not realizing the uproar it would create. She wrote on a popular housing blog that the producers asked her to find some houses just to look at.

“It felt like we just had a few days to scrounge up some houses to look at and it was our responsibility to find the houses …,” Jensen said. “And, finally, the producer just said find any houses you can. Just find something.”

Jensen asked friends to let them use their homes, which they weren’t even selling.

HGTV programming executive Brian Balthazar said that using not-for-sale homes was a unique decision the show did not make.

“In this episode, her husband was the real estate agent,” Balthazar said. “In fact, and she references this in her article, they made the decision to show their friends homes, because they couldn’t find one.”

Linguistic analysis of Rand Paul’s endorsement of Romney contradicts his words: Rand Paul is disgusted with him!

Linguistics and intonation

If you watch Rand Paul deliver his announcement, pay particular attention to the part where he says:

But you know, now that the nominating process is over, tonight I’m uh happy to announce that I’m gonna be supporting Governor Romney.

During this entire sentence, his voice and intonation stay relatively high, in the “optimistic” range, including as he’s talking about his father. But the minute he utters the words “Governor Romney,” two things happen:

• The pitch of his voice drops sharply.
• The strength of his voice tapers off, almost as if the last part of “Romney” has no power behind it.

The overall feeling associated with this delivery is one of disgust. It’s almost as if Rand Paul is describing someone he is disappointed with or despises.

He most certainly did not do the things you would expect to hear if he were excited about Romney:

• Raising the pitch of his voice.
• Increasing the strength of his voice. “Government ROMNEY!”
• Smiling.

That these telltale signs are completely absent, and that he instead dropped both the pitch and power of his voice, tells you that Rand Paul does not himself believe what he is saying!

He sounds disappointed in himself and very much uninspired about Romney. It is delivered asa surrender to disgust. This is hardly the tone we would expect to hear from someone who is excited about the endorsement.

Talking about his father vs. talking about Romney

There is also a subtle but very real difference between the way Sen. Rand Paul talks about his father versus talking about Romney. Here are the overriding emotions as he speaks:

Happy, confident, expressive:

My first choice has always been my father, I campaigned for him when I was eleven years old, he’s still my first pick…

Reserved, cautious, neutral:

..but you know now that the nominating process is over, tonight I’m happy to announce that I’m going to be supporting…

Depressed, disgusted:

Governor Romney.

Micro-expressions analysis

Immediately after Rand Paul utters “Governor Romney,” his face freezes. His usual pattern of rapid blinking and eyebrow hikes grinds to a virtual halt. He goes “stone cold” for a few seconds.

He only smiles again when Sean Hannity mentions his father:

If you didn’t support your father, by the way, I would really question…

Rand Paul SMILES (i.e. he likes his father)

The logic

From there, Sean Hannity asks Rand Paul why he decided to support Mitt Romney. The answers that Rand Paul gives make no sense.

He starts out by citing a completely irrelevant, distracting “similarity” which is that both himself and Romney have fathers who once ran for President. Huh?

This is entirely irrelevant to his politics, philosophies and beliefs. Saying you would endorse someone for President because their dad did something that your dad also did strikes of a fabricated, poorly-thought-out series of excuses scripted as talking points.

Then he goes on to say that Governor Romney comes from “a big family” which is just like his own big family. Huh?

Does Rand Paul really think the American people give a damn how big his family is? What they want to know is how these bureaucrats are going to restore liberty and freedom for ALL families. The “big family” comparison is yet another scripted talking point.

He then goes on to say something that finally makes sense, that Romney and he share “family values.” That’s a reasonable point of discussion.

After that, he goes into total spin mode, describing how he met and talked with Romney, and how Romney was “very supportive” of the idea of auditing the Fed, but that claim doesn’t mean anything, especially when Romney is a banker globalist.

Sen Rand Paul’s endorsement for Romney has more deceptive layers than Obama’s birth certificate

What does all this means? If this linguistic and micro-expressions analysis is to be believed, it means Sen. Rand Paul despises Mitt Romney. That, in turn, means he held his nose and made a deal. Whether that deal is for a possible VP spot is being hotly debated right now, but it seems clear some kind of deal was made.

This is the very reason why Rand Paul is being berated by his (former?) support base: You don’t make a deal with the devil! Perhaps Alex Jones said it best in this up-front, uncensored and aggressively stated special video message to Rand Paul and Ron Paul

I first heard the term, ‘presstitutes’ from Gerald Celente on The Alex Jones Show, who may have coined the term.

We all know that prostitution is wrong, but I think presstitution is far worse. It’s treason to lie to the American public about what is going on. They are aiding and abetting the globalists, who are carrying out Satan’s agenda to bring about the one-world government. Thankfully, we now have alternative media, as long as the internet remains free. But many still regularly visit the presstitutes, as they turn their tricks — US.

Presstitute neocons like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly are among the best at it, and the most responsible for destroying this once, great republic. Glenn Beck has mislead many too. Glenn has even said he’s just an actor, not even believing what he says; though, they’ll give just enough truth to keep the people watching/listening.

Sociopaths never accept the slightest responsibility for anything that goes wrong, even though they’re responsible for almost everything that goes wrong. You’ll never hear a sincere apology from them.
Sociopaths have a lopsided notion of property rights. What’s theirs is theirs, and what’s yours is theirs too. They therefore defend currency inflation and taxation as good things.
Sociopaths usually pick the wrong target to attack. If they lose their wallet, they kick the dog. If 16 Saudis fly planes into buildings, they attack Afghanistan.
Sociopaths traffic in disturbing news, they love to pass on destructive rumors and they’ll falsify information to damage others.

The fact that they’re chronic, extremely convincing and even enthusiastic liars, who often believe their own lies, means they aren’t easy to spot, because normal people naturally assume another person is telling the truth. They rarely have handlebar mustaches or chortle like Snidely Whiplash. Instead, they cultivate a social veneer or a mask of sanity that diverts suspicion. You can rely on them to be “politically correct” in public. How could a congressman or senator who avidly supports charities possibly be a bad guy? They’re expert at using facades to disguise reality, and they feel no guilt about it.

It’s a familiar picture for Paul supporters who have had to watch over and over as mainstream media talking heads and pundits have consistently either laughed off the Texas Congressman’s chances for GOP nominee or simply excluded Paul from their coverage altogether.

However, within the past few weeks, the networks were forced to begin taking Paul seriously as he began consistently polling in first and second ahead of the Iowa caucuses, eventually finishing third in what was essentially a three way tie.

Going into New Hampshire and ahead of two debates this weekend, Paul was polling in strong second, as he has been for some time. However, That did not stop CBS political correspondent Jan Crawford from showing graphics and talking about recent polling, without even mentioning Paul’s numbers or even that he was involved in the race at all.

Crawford even used a graphic referencing a Suffolk University Poll of New Hampshire voters, omitting Paul’s numbers, even though he came second, and was the only candidate other than Mitt Romney to poll in double figures.

CNN finally released the full interview. It shows that Ron Paul didn’t “storm off” – the interview was over.

As you can see CNN aired the final segment (starting at 6:00) first, trying to create the false impression that Ron Paul terminated the interview just minutes after it had started. In reality the interview had already lasted a full 8 minutes and was effectively over, with no further questions being asked.

Propagandist Borger ended the interview with an outrageous insinuation and lie: “Some of this stuff was very incendiary, you know… saying that in 1993 the Israelis were responsible for the bombing of the World Trade Center”.

The newsletters, politically incorrect as they might have been, NEVER made such a claim. That’s pure propaganda.

The corporate media will stop at nothing to discredit Ron Paul, but thanks to a growing understanding on part of the public of “how the system works”, the media’s efforts aren’t just not working, they are backfiring.

Ron Paul remains the undisputed frontrunner in Iowa (as documented by five consecutive polls by various organizations). Nationally, Ron Paul gained 5% on both Gingrich and Romney among Republican voters over the past 5 days during the worst phase of the media onslaught.
