9/11 COMMEMORATION: MAKING THE OFFICIAL VERSION PERMANENT

In this first half of September Americans are being subjected to the largest propaganda campaign in decades, seeking to make permanent in the American psyche the official version of 9/11 and specifically that the attack more infamous than Pearl Harbor was the work of a lone cadre of terrorists from the Middle East, with virtually no foreknowledge, direction, financing or coordination with dark side elements of the US government. The evidence has been building for years that demonstrates this simply wasn’t true. This week, I’ll present some of the latest and best evidence.

We are required to relive over and over again the superficial happenings of that day and be regaled with repetitive human interest stories of heroes, victims and their families or whether or not people “lost faith at ground zero.” The media show contains no references to the fact that almost a third of Americans distrust or disbelieve the official version.

That is why the mass of evidence linking government foreknowledge and planning to the placement of explosives in the buildings, and the massive subsequent cover-up must never be discussed. “9/11 Truthers” are to be evaded and never allowed to make their case in the mainstream news no matter that many of them are respected architects, engineers, scientists and pilots. Instead, the official version must be drummed into people so that future generations will react with extreme prejudice and disbelief at the mere hint of conspiracy facts or theory.

While I don’t have the space go through all the evidence of government coverup and involvement in 9/11 again, the most dramatic evidence comes from the explosives demolition of WTC building 7. Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth have produced a couple of videos that will convince almost all but the most hardened skeptics. The first is a must see, the second gives an even wider spectrum of the experts who agree that only controlled demolition explains the uniform fall of this building. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZEvA8BCoBw

The demolition of WTC buildings 1 and 2, hit by airplanes, was done by a more sophisticated form of controlled demolition using sequential timers set off by human beings who could observe where the aircraft struck. Both buildings showed the same crucial signs of demolition during the fall: no resistance from the floors below, sounds of explosions triggering the fall, and multiple explosions going off on the way down so as to make it appear as if the top were crushing each floor below.

This is done using explosives set every few floors, triggered sequentially to match the speed of the fall as it is descending–not hard to do, just more high-tech. In fact, the height of the Twin Towers required this kind of demolition. Had they done a normal demolition but using cutting charges only at the base columns the tall narrow tower would surely have tipped over during the fall and caused wider damage. One can even observe the antenna array on top of the north building descending slightly before the building itself begins to fall–a sign that the central core columns had been compromised–an area not capable of being damaged directly by the plane. In fact, they were compromised down in the basement. These columns at the base were too massive for conventional cutting charges. Someone with access to the building cut a hole into the hollow core and loaded it with thermite–capable of melting any metal with white hot heat once ignited. The collapse of the central core was probably the sign to the demolition crew to trigger the rest of the charges in the sequential collapse.

With any government coverup, there is always more evidence surfacing in later years, just as it did in the Kennedy Assassination. The media must then mobilize to explain it away or debunk the new evidence that points to government involvement. Here’s an excerpt from a recent NY Times article that contains a lot of disinformation, typical of the mainstream media when they pretend to reveal new light on an old coverup [my comments in brackets].

I add this to the ‘Christians’ Trashing America category because you know that many of those booing Paul’s why-they-hate-US comment call themselves ‘Christians.’ Though Jesus said: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.”

There is no fear of God anymore — fear of not being a going-to-heaven, right-with-God-and-people Christian. The deception in these days is so great. The Bible says “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,” and “where there is no vision the people perish.”

America is now so upside down when wrong is right. We abuse our might — which is fleeting.

One of my bumper stickers say: “If we don’t change directions we’ll end up where we’re going.”

The enemies are sharpening their swords. But Fox News is mum that they’re across the Pacific, not the Atlantic.

They’ll wait until we destroy ourselves further through more establishment-picked Presidents.

It’s time to get our act together now, especially spiritually.

The media is extremely biased, a big part of the problem, but when the people cheer for killing and torture (as in other Republican debates) and boo a sincere call for the ethical treatment of human beings, the writing is on the wall:

We are now a sick nation by choice, willfully disobedient. So we will deserve the coming destruction — with a broken heart I sadly must admit.

All of the work so many of us have done, all of the warnings, the documentation, yet the people still don’t have enough integrity to admit they were wrong and stand up for what is right, now that our serious condition is even more obvious.

Last night, after being booed for talking about the ethical treatment of Palestinians, Ron said:

“At the same time, we had been bombing and killing hundreds of thousands of Iraqis for ten years. Would you be annoyed? If you’re not annoyed then there is some problem.”

The fact that most are not annoyed is the problem.

In February 2003, a Florida Court of Appeals unanimously ruled for Fox News, saying no rule or law prohibits distorting or falsifying news.

Just as Wall Street, war profiteers, Big Oil, Big Pharma, and other corporate favorites steal with impunity, it’s OK for America’s media to lie.

The ruling pertained to a 1996 Jane Akre/Steve Wilson Fox affiliate WTVT, Tampa reports on bovine growth hormone (BGH) dangers, Monsanto’s hazardous to human health genetically engineered milk additive.

At first, the station loved them. Later, however, Fox executives and their attorneys ordered its reporters to admit falsifying evidence and produce bogus reports on BGH safety.

They refused, threatened to inform the FCC, were fired, and sued. A district court jury decided on their behalf, awarding Acre alone $425,000 in damages.

Fox appealed and won, the Appellate Court saying Acre wasn’t protected under Florida’s whistleblower statute, loosely interpreting it to mean employers must violate an adopted “law, rule, or regulation.”

In other words, Fox simply followed “policy” entitling its stations to lie – whether on product safety or falsifying facts about anything, including 9/11 truth.

In 2005, Project Censored chose this story among its top 25 most important, titled “The Media Can Legally Lie,” and lie they’ve done about 9/11 from that day to the present.

Those old enough to remember won’t forget, including how media distortions turned it into perhaps the most hyped ever spectacle, especially on television.

For days, images of planes hitting the twin towers and their collapse were aired repeatedly.

Both wars rage today, besides Obama’s naked aggression, notably against Libya – another nonbelligerent country America and its NATO allies systematically destroyed, butchering tens of thousands of Libyans on the pretext of protecting them.

America’s post-9/11 decade is best called its visible fall from grace, waging permanent wars on humanity for wealth and power, never for falsified hyped reasons everyone needs to understand and condemn.

But don’t expect America’s media to explain. They’re, in fact, complicit by regurgitating official lies, vilifying Islam, and resonating war fever discourse for intervention, featuring one-sided reports and commentaries.

Absent was critical debate. Vital questions weren’t asked. Militarism instead was promoted as the solution to “global terrorism.”

For days, political and military officials and spokespersons shared air time with so-called national security state experts and various crackpots, ranging from right-wing to hard-right to the lunatic fringe.

The common theme argued was that America was at war with Islam, Samuel Huntington’s racist “clash of civilizations” notion, “good v. evil,” “freedom (and our) way of life” against “forces of darkness.”

Bush administration officials used cowboy metaphors, including wanting bin Laden “dead or alive,” calling its campaign a “crusade” until criticism forced its change to “Operation Enduring Freedom,” and vowing to “smoke out and pursue” barbaric evil doers.

Their underlying theme was fear because it sells, even when cause for it doesn’t exist.

At the same time, Bush’s “war on terrorism” didn’t mention democracy, instead emphasizing his fighting for “freedom” mantra, no matter the human toll or illegitimacy of the Big (9/11) Lie, permitting America’s war on the world to follow.

Inaugurated on January 20, 2001, his nationally televised address to Congress declared war on terrorism, describing a conflict between “those governed by fear (who) want to destroy our wealth and freedoms” and others wanting to defend it.

Thereafter, the major media hyped fear, promoted revenge, and defended falsified notions that Washington wages wars for freedom and democratic values by ridding nations of dangerous tyrants, especially ones threatening Americans.

In other words, wars of aggression are liberating ones. Civil and human rights are suppressed for our own good, and patriotism means going along with lawless governments, committing crimes of war and against humanity against one country after another.

Bin Laden and Al Qaeda replaced “the evil empire.” Terrorism became the new mantra. Manichean good v. evil notions were hyped. Fear and hate overwhelmed sanity and defending right over wrong, as well as holding venal politicians accountable for acting lawlessly with impunity.

An earlier article explained that when America goes to war, managed news follows, spreading rumors, half-truths, misinformation, and willful deception about targeted nations, regimes, leaders, and other enemies, whether despots of democrats.

John Pilger said “Journalism is the first casualty” of war. “Not only that: it has become a weapon of war, a virulent censorship (and willful misreporting) that goes unrecognized in the United States, Britain and other democracies; censorship by omission (makes all) the difference between life and death for people in (targeted) countries….”

It suppresses debate, substitutes fiction for facts, filters out truth, and cheerleads in lockstep with government policy, right or wrong.

As a result, it supports America’s right to be judge, jury and executioner, as well as get victor’s spoils because that’s why all wars are fought, never for falsified reasons, regurgitated on air and in print ad nauseam.

Because America’s business is war, supported by its major media, war profiteering is a growth industry, and as famed comedian Jimmy Durante used to say:

“Everybody wants ta get inta da act,” and they do.

In addition, not telling the truth and holding venal politicians accountable for taking America to war on false pretenses lets them do it again with impunity.

Even as a major hurricane hit America’s eastern seaboard, the administration is determined to expand the war in Libya while threatening the regime in Syria.  Is there any limit to government’s appetite to create more problems for our nation and economy?

Americans may be tempted to celebrate the apparent victory of US and NATO backed rebels in Libya, since it seems the Gaddafi regime is overthrown. But I believe any enthusiasm for our Libyan misadventure is premature.

The Obama administration attacked Libya without a constitutional declaration of war, without congressional authorization, without meaningful consultation with Congress — and without a dollar being authorized from the House or Senate.  It was a war started by a president who turned to the United Nations for its authority and ignored the authority of the US Congress.

Are we better off as a nation by ignoring and debasing our Constitution?  Are we better off having spent more than a billion dollars attacking a country thousands of miles away that had not threatened us?  Are we more financially sound having expanded the empire to include yet another protectorate and probable long-term military occupation?  Are we more admired throughout the world for getting involved in yet another war?

Still, many will claim that getting rid of Libyan ruler Gaddafi was worth it. They will say that the ends justify the means. As the civilian toll from NATO bombs adds up in a war started under the guise of protecting a civilian population, even the initial argument for intervention is ridiculous. We should not forget that there were no massacres taking place in Libya before the NATO attack. The attack was a dubbed a preventative humanitarian intervention.  But as soon as NATO planes started bombing, civilians started dying.

Gaddafi may well have been a tyrant, but as such he was no worse than many others that we support and count as allies. Disturbingly, we see a pattern of relatively secular leaders in the Arab world being targeted for regime change with the resulting power vacuum being filled by much more radical elements.  Iraq, post-Saddam, is certainly far closer to Iran than before the US invasion.  Will Libya be any different?

We already see grisly reprisals from the US-backed rebels against their political opponents.  There are disturbing scenes of looting and lawlessness on the part of the rebels.  We know that some rebel factions appear to be allied with Islamic extremists and others seem to have ties to the CIA.  They also appear to have a penchant for killing each other as well as supporters of the previous regime.  The tribal structure of Libyan society all but ensures that an ongoing civil war is on the agenda rather than the Swiss-style democracy that some intervention advocates suggest is around the corner.

What is next after such a victory?  With the big Western scramble to grab Libya’s oil reserves amid domestic political chaos and violence, does anyone doubt that NATO ground troops are not being prepared for yet another occupation?

Neo-conservatives continue to dominate our foreign policy, regardless of the administration in power.  They do not care that we are bankrupt, as they are too blinded by their desire for empire and their affection for the entangling alliances we have been rightly counseled to avoid. They have set their sights next on Syria, where the US moves steadily toward intervention in another domestic conflict that has nothing to do with the US.  Already the US president has called for “regime change” in Syria, while adding new sanctions against the Syrian regime.  Are US bombers far behind?

The Importance of a Moral Society

John Adams in a speech to the military in 1798 warned his fellow countrymen stating, “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion . . . Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Benjamin Rush, Signer of the Declaration of Independence said. [T]he only foundation for a useful education in a republic is to be aid in religion. Without this there can be no virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty, and liberty is the object and life of all republican governments. Note that the above quotes are but a small sample of hundreds of quotes the Founding Fathers made in regards to the importance of a religious and moral people in a successful Republican Democracy.

In our young nation, the Bible was used as a text book for the purpose of teaching children moral principles to live by. As time went on, the Bible was gradually replaced by other text books such as Noah Webster’s Primer. Webster’s Primer taught children to spell but was also filled with moral Bible verses. In the front of his Primer was his picture with the inscription, “Who taught millions to read but not one to sin.”

This is the exact opposite of the school curriculum today. The courts in this country have revised the First Amendment, thus erecting a wall of atheism around every public school in America, where in God is not allowed to be mentioned. This is not the same wall that Thomas Jefferson envisioned.

This is mostly a great article! I would also rather share a foxhole with an agnostic who is trying to find and do the truth than with a ‘Christian’ who doesn’t uphold the truth nor does he really love his brother.

And I agree with Chuck here. Jesse Ventura comes to mind; though, some of his positions concern me:

In speeches all over America, I have surprised many Christian people when I say, I would rather vote for an unbeliever who would preserve, protect, and defend the US Constitution, than vote for a believer who would NOT preserve, protect, and defend the US Constitution.

But I would probably disagree with Chuck’s reasoning here:

Of course, I can hear many Christians now saying under their breath, “But we need REAL Christians in public office.”

Chuck lists the recent ‘Christian’ Presidents who have unconstitutionally misled America, and then says:

Forget the rhetoric! Forget the label! Forget the religious piety! If our public servants do not submit themselves to the Constitution to which they swore an oath before God and men, they are liars and frauds and should be treated as such!

Had these men been REAL Christians they could be “liars and frauds,” according to what the Bible really says: Who-Goes-To-Heaven Scriptures — Narrow is the Way | Who are the Children of God?

And REAL Christians love their neighbors even if he wears a turban and she wears a burka — and they live overseas where we can’t hear the bombs go off or see the blood — which is not true of:

Jesus said “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God.” Most ‘Christians’ supported George W. Bush even in his second term when he was clearly pro-torture and pro-murder.

As a Baptist pastor, Chuck probably has a standard Baptist view as to what is a REAL Christian is, which unfortunately differs from what the Bible really says. This is probably why we differ slightly here.

Clearly, many agnostics are more Christian than most ‘Christians.’

And many agnostics would become Christians if most ‘Christians’ were REAL Christians.

Then reverse-Christian politicians could no longer get away with calling themselves ‘Christians.’

I couldn’t count how many times I’ve heard a sincere Christian say to me, “Chuck, all we have to do is elect more Christians to public office.” I wish it was only that easy! The fact is we have been electing “Christians” to public office for decades. In fact, when is the last time you voted for someone who did NOT proclaim to be a Christian? Most everyone in public office claims to be a Christian. In my whole life, I never remember a candidate for public office saying, “Vote for me; I’m an atheist.” Do you?

Richard Nixon claimed to be a Christian; Gerald Ford claimed to be a Christian; Jimmy Carter claimed to be a Christian (he even taught Sunday School and took alcohol out of the White House); Ronald Reagan claimed to be a Christian; Bill Clinton claimed to be a Christian (how many times did we see Clinton on his way to church with his giant-print Bible under his arm?); George Bush I and II claimed to be a Christian. Bush II held prayer meetings in the White House we are told. Even Barack Obama claims to be a Christian. Ditto for virtually every congressman and senator ever elected. Republicans and Democrats, liberals and conservatives, men and women, whites and blacks: they all claim to be Christians. If electing “Christians” was all we needed to do, we should be in the Millennial Kingdom by now!

Of course, I can hear many Christians now saying under their breath, “But we need REAL Christians in public office.” And, of course, the people saying this are the ones who are qualified to know which ones are REAL Christians and which ones aren’t. Right?

In speeches all over America, I have surprised many Christian people when I say, I would rather vote for an unbeliever who would preserve, protect, and defend the US Constitution, than vote for a believer who would NOT preserve, protect, and defend the US Constitution.

When a civil magistrate assumes public office, he or she does not swear an oath to be a “good Christian,” or to be a “good conservative,” or to read their Bible and pray everyday. What they do swear to, however, is to “preserve, protect, and defend” the US Constitution.

The reason why it doesn’t matter to a hill of beans whether we elect Republicans or Democrats, or liberals or conservatives, or Baptists or Catholics, etc., is because, for the most part, none of them cares one iota about honoring their oath of office to be faithful to the Constitution! But holding our elected officials to the Constitution should be the primary focus of any public servant’s constituents. Forget the rhetoric! Forget the label! Forget the religious piety! If our public servants do not submit themselves to the Constitution to which they swore an oath before God and men, they are liars and frauds and should be treated as such!

But, because the vast majority of Americans do not themselves understand, appreciate, and value fidelity to the Constitution, they are content to let their politicians routinely ignore and trample constitutional government. Therefore, Christian Democrats cheer the unconstitutional, loathsome policies and decisions of “Christian” Jimmy Carter, and Christian Republicans cheer the unconstitutional, loathsome policies and decisions of “Christian” George W. Bush.

And, as Sonny and Cher sang, “The Beat Goes On.” And the rush toward bigger and bigger government, less and less freedom, and more and more socialism goes on–all these “Christians” in public office notwithstanding.

In the midst of all this duplicity and chicanery come honest, freedom-loving, constitutionalists of all stripes, shapes, and sizes: men and women from all persuasions, backgrounds, and education who understand the principles of constitution government enough to be truly considered a friend of freedom. That’s why I have often said, not all Christians are our friends, and not all unbelievers are our enemies.

Case in point…

The understanding, wisdom, and character that is represented in the above blog is rarely demonstrated in any church, from any churchman, or from any pastor! I would sooner share a foxhole with this agnostic (and try to win him to the Lord at the same time) than with many professing Christians.

When did we Christians lose our character? When did we lose our honor? When did we forget what it means to be Freemen? When did we forget the principles of constitutional government? When did we lose our understanding of Natural Law and Natural Rights?

I almost hate to add another post because ToBeFree never looked better than when America The Beautiful! was sitting as the first post: that beautiful red, white and blue — that really does mean so much to me!!!

My father used to drive Mom, me and our dog throughout mainly the western states, and I developed a great appreciation for this land.

It saddens my heart to think of what America is now becoming.

We used to be the land of the free and the home of the brave, but now most line up even their daughters to be virtually strip searched by the TSAs, giving up their freedoms just like the Germans did in Nazi Germany.

We’re now the home of the whimps and the “not really very moral” either.

“Everybody goes to heaven.” “What feels good, do it.” The Scriptures have been so twisted.

And the globalists are launching their wars from the USA, taking out the countries that oppose Satan’s one-world government, which now may be just around the corner.

Most of the ‘Christians’ even now support torture and won’t give Ron Paul the time of day.

My Theory on the Nephilim

I just explained my Nephilim theory at ONEcanhappen, which I’ve considered for decades — which explains so much of how leaders (including religious) can lie to us and not even seem to be bothered at all. How could they be that evil, yet so convincing they are not?

My theory on the Nephilim: When God told the Children of Israel to kill every man, woman and child in Canaan (the giants), there was this Genesis-6, demon-contaminated genetic problem again? Israel did not; and then there was intermarriage. This would explain why so many seem to be predisposed towards evil — and they become our leaders — even of churches?!!

It’s interesting how real Christianity would actually be keeping US free from the ever encroaching police state. They couldn’t use the fear card on real Christians.

It’s interesting (and really sad) that most American ‘Christians’ (including the pastors) still won’t support Ron Paul, the Christlike, “Blessed are the peacemakers” pro-life-for-even-adults candidate.

I have heard one dozen times today (May 13) from media that the US killed Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan. I heard it three times from National Public Radio, twice from the BBC, and from every TV and radio station I encountered, even those stations that play the rock and roll music of the 1950s and 1960s. The killing of bin Laden has now entered the legends of our time and, no doubt, the history books.

The US government that told us that Saddam Hussein had “weapons of mass destruction” and “al Qaeda connections” and that Iran has nuclear missiles that require the US to ring Russia with anti-ballistic missile systems, finally told us the truth for once. Obama found Osama and had him murdered, apparently unarmed in his underwear, defended not by al Qaeda, “the best trained, most dangerous vicious killers on the planet,” but by two unarmed women.

As I offered previously, if you believe this, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I can let you have for a cheap price.

The government has created another reality for us proles. We won again. Us white hats got the black hat, just like in the western movie. Fantasy is better than fact, and us good guys are on a roll. It makes everybody happy, even those who have lost their jobs, their houses, their pensions.

So, who’s the next black hat? The military/security complex cannot do without a bad guy, or the budget could be cut and billions of dollars in profits would go missing. Without someone for Americans to hate, the show can’t go on.

Homeland Security says the next black hat will be “domestic extremists.” The CIA says it will be the next al Qaeda leader, bin Laden’s replacement, who will terrorize us white hats for killing bin Laden. The neocon brownshirts say it is Pakistan, who hid bin Laden from us, thus protecting him from justice being done. Hillary says it is China, and as the US economy continues its collapse, more and more fingers will point at China.

Airport Security will pat down more babies, feel more genitals, and radiate more air travelers.

But without bin Laden, we will feel safer and more secure, which is counterproductive for the military/security complex. Obama has made a fundamental mistake. He has killed Emanuel Goldstein (bin Laden), the hate figure who justified the trillions of dollars we have blown trying to get him.

Once Homeland Security, the CIA, and the White House decide who the new hate figure is to be, we will be off and running again.

It took 10 years to get bin Laden. This proves that all those security experts who say that the war will last for 30 years might be underestimating the necessary commitment. If it takes 10 years each to find and murder the next two leaders, we are faced with conflict that lasts across generations.

As I wrote previously, bin Laden’s killing serves so many different agendas that even those who don’t believe the story have hooked their wagon to it. Al Qaeda itself can no longer take credit for acts of terrorism without declaring that it was to avenge bin Laden.

The bin Laden story is now set in stone, immune from fact. We all know, don’t we, that in America the government always has the best interest of ordinary people at heart and always tells them the truth. If you don’t believe this, you are anti-American.

Sponsor drops Rashard Mendenhall over bin Laden tweets

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall is being dropped as an endorser by corporate sponsor Champion over his controversial tweets objecting to the celebration over the death of Osama bin Laden at the hands of U.S. commandos Sunday.

Champion is “ending our business relationship” with Mendenhall since the athletic brand doesn’t think he “can appropriately represent Champion,” spokesman Matt Hall said Thursday night.

The 23-year old Mendenhall also questioned what really happened to the Twin Towers during the September 11th attacks. Before deleting it from his Twitter feed, he wrote he has “a hard time believing a plane could take a skyscraper down demolition style.”

Since posting, I have found that some dispute that Gandhi said this. I found the following:

I can’t find any source for him stating the quote as such. I did find a book, The Knights Templar & the Protestant Reformation, which states that when Stanley Jones, a missionary met with Ghandi he asked him:

Mr. Gandhi, though you quote the words of Christ often, why is that you appear to so adamantly reject becoming his follower?

Gandhi replied:

Oh, I don’t reject Christ. I love Christ. It’s just that so many of you Christians are so unlike Christ.

The book seems to have a reference, although I can’t check what it is as the references page is not on Google Books.

The quote seems to be from the book Mr. Gandhi, the man by Millie Graham Polak although the book is not viewable online.

Searching the book for the first part of the passage quoted in the knights templar book, “Is Mr. Gandhi a Christian?” returns a hit, although searching for “stanley jones” or “reject christ” does not.

In The Christ of the Indian Road by E. Stanley Jones, Stanley Jones asked Gandhi how to naturalize Christianity into India. Gandhi replied in part:

I would suggest first of all that all of you Christians, missionaries and all begin to live more like Jesus Christ.

This could be in part where the quote came from, if it was never said directly by Gandhi.

Given the amount of consistent references to the quote being said in reply to a question from Stanley Jones, I think it is likely something very similar to the oft quoted passage was said. I can’t find anything online that shows this for certain and don’t have access to the books where the quote may appear to check, so it’s hard to say for sure.

The information I have so far attributes the proximate statement in Stanley’s book to Bara Dada and not to Gandhi. I have a first edition copy of “Mr. Gandhi the Man” by Polak (1931) and I assure you that the Gandhi quote is NOT in that book. He speaks to his friend about his attraction to Christianity and the possibility of becoming Christian himself. His reasons for not doing so, he explains, have to do with his sense that he has found, in his “native” Hindu religion, all of the essential values that Christianity promotes. He is in a sense a universalist, believing that a path to God can be found in every major religion. There are no disparaging remarks about Christians in the book. Gandhi’s history is one of reconciliation and marshalling people from many faith communities to promote freedom and justice. That work began in earnest in South Africa, where he brought Christians together with other adherents for his social justice work.
