DEBT CEILING DEAL: NO SOLUTION, BAD PRECEDENT
The Debt Deal which avoided the partial default on maturing bond issues was both praised as a breakthrough and derided as a fraud. I’m in the latter camp. The deal has done nothing but postpone the bickering about spending and revenue until the end of November. But it did change the rules by which the future will be debated. Glenn Beck put it this way: “Republicans and Democrats have just negotiated away the future of our children behind closed doors.” I’ll take up that claim about the Super (secret) Congress later but, in truth, the future of our children is already gone. This nation is already bankrupt and neither the politicians nor the public have the will to do what’s right to rein in spending, war, waste and fraud. Even though I believe the point of collapse is a lot farther away than most are predicting, it is coming and you can bet the Powers That Be will create some terrible conflict before that time arrives to ensure that the ultimate blame for this fiasco gets swallowed up in the ensuing mayhem. Of course they will claim it “was not their fault” and we’ll all just have to start over with a new currency, new bonds and new debt. FALSE THREATS OF ASTRONOMICAL COLLISIONS
I get a lot of emails from subscribers concerned about a variety of threats being hyped on the internet. I’m not buying the current threats about imminent collision of the earth with either of two huge asteroids and at least one comet. These bodies are real but are not coming close enough to do any harm. On NASA’s Ask an Astrobiologist site, some answers are proffered:

“Both Comet Elenin and Asteroid Apophis are real, but these concerns about collisions are without foundation. Unfortunately there are a few popular websites that are known for suggesting multiple catastrophes, including popularizing the 2012 hoax. Two that show up in any search for Comet Elenin are godlikeproductions and abovetopsecret, both of which predict either a very close pass by Earth or a collision. If instead you consult dependable websites like skyandtelescope you will find that Comet Elenin will come nowhere near the Earth. At its closest (on 10 September 2011) it will be more than 25 million km from our planet.

“Astro-scientists measure celestial distances in our orbit by AU’s, or astronomical units. Initially, Comet Elenin was predicted to pass earth 25 AU’s away from earth. That distance was narrowed to .15 AUs, the 25 million km the Astrobiologist mentioned. How far is .15 AUs in real distance? 13 million miles. The sun is 92 million miles away. Elenin’s debris trail could be rather large so for the people on earth on September when Elenin arrives, it could well be a very bad day [actually, comet debris will burn up in the atmosphere and put on a great light show]. On the other hand, the miss distance could be comfortable and simply put on a good show for backyard astronomers.”

THE DEBT CEILING AS BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT
As the arbitrary and unnecessary deadline of August 2 for the supposed US default approaches, the Obama administration is threatening to shut down the government. His biggest direct threat is to claim the US will have to default on its bonds and that Social Security checks will not go out. These actions are specifically unnecessary and the President knows it. The government still has income coming in. All it has to do is stop spending more than it takes in. In fact, the debt ceiling limit is already the law of the land, and serves as a balanced budget amendment. There is no need, as Republicans insist, to pass one. As of August 2, the government is required to stop spending more than the government takes in. Isn’t that what a Balanced Budget Amendment is for? WHY MOST DOOMSDAY SCENARIOS DON’T PAN OUT

If we have to deal with one major error in the freedom movement relative to continue projections of economic collapse, it is the error of wishful thinking that fundamentals will take down the Powers That Be (PTB) quickly. They are much more powerful and resilient than we know and can drag this out much longer than we think. That’s where my analysis differs significantly from the others in the movement. We don’t differ about the problems, nor the ultimate consequences; only in the timing and the severity of the downward slope.

I’ve been right so far, but that is only an advantage to readers if you use the extra time to prepare for worse things to come—not to bet on the possibility that it may never come. It will—both economic hardship via inflation and war.

I fear that many of our people are so caught up in trying to “win back” our liberties that they are not preparing for the wars and real economic destruction that may come in its wake. Some think nuclear war is unsurvivable but they are wrong. Most people will live through it, and wish they had prepared better against the following widespread famine and sicknesses.

There are several ways in which people’s mindset, whether philosophical or religious, sets them up for believing in partially true scenarios, and misjudging the intensity or ultimate impact. For example, the noted free market economist, Gary North, thought Y2K was going to bring the evil powers that control the world to its knees. It could have. The threat was real. But North failed to realize that the PTB would pull out all the stops to fix it. What they didn’t fix (about 5 major failures), they covered-up for. Don’t get me wrong: I respect Gary very much. He is a brilliant writer and free market thinker and he’s fun to read about relative to almost anything. Even relative to Y2K the world really owes Gary a debt of gratitude for sounding the alarm.

If Gary North made any mistake at all it was letting eschatological (end times) theological beliefs get in the way of judging the facts on the ground. For example, North’s Calvinistic view of end times saw the necessity of some great disaster that had to unseat the PTB so that the evil world could healed and presented to Christ at his second coming, whole and good. While Y2K didn’t do it, it isn’t hard for Christian Reconstructionists, as they are called, to see the coming economic storm as the thing that brings this house of cards down.

Other Christians, in contrast, believe Satan’s power among men will increase until the whole world is nearly under his control, except for a remnant of good people crying day and night for deliverance, and that Christ’s Second Coming finally intervenes to end the earth’s grand test and save humanity. There are dozens of other variants on the “end times” theme including the surprising number of millions that believe in pre-tribulation rapture—perhaps the ultimate in Christian wishful thinking.

But as the world descends inexorably towards the loss of liberty and freedom, those that believe in a post-tribulation meeting of Christ descending from the clouds, are increasingly confident of their position. My personal belief is that we are going to go through the wringer. God is a great believer in the “refiner’s fire” of adversity, and the salutary effect it has on men’s souls in making them tougher and greater.

I only bring up the difficulties of interjecting theological beliefs into judging reality because it is something that most good people have to deal with. Far from being one that disparages all spiritual insights, I believe heavenly intuition plays a very real role in sensing whether or not disaster is imminent or farther away. There are both false and true spiritual realities out there.

ON THE VERGE OF A GREAT DEPRESSION?
Frequent CNBC guest Peter Yastrow told the CNBC audience that, “We’re on the verge of a great, great depression. The Federal Reserve knows it.” It was also widely reported that a billion dollar fund managers agrees, “The government never fixed the underlying economic problems, so we’ll have another crash.” Another pundit claimed the “housing slump is worse than the Great Depression.”

Part of this is true (the economy not being fixed), but I’m not buying the greatest depression ever claim. There is so much surplus wealth in this country, and even inside everyone’s home that the hardships of today simply don’t compare to the great depression. Where are the long bread lines? Even our unemployed are living comparatively well between unemployment compensation and reliance on relatives. 44 million are on food stamps and living much better than most during the Great Depression. Restaurants and movie houses are still packed on weekends.

In short, this is no depression even though the financial system is still not fixed and can’t be. The only question is how bad will the long slow decline be and how soon will high inflation come upon us. Inflation is the only game in town left that the FED has to play. But only the FED knows for sure how much they are going to inject and where its impact will be felt. As an experienced watcher of these conspiring men, my gut feeling is that they intend to keep collapse at bay for at least 5-10 more years. By then they’ll have a world war to cover for the collapse.

The Death Of Bin Laden; The Death Of America

News outlets all over America have repeatedly announced the government story that Navy SEALS recently killed Al Qaeda terrorist leader Osama bin Laden in a palatial “safe house” in Pakistan. But, of course, government photos of the dead bin Laden will not be released to the public for fear of inciting animosity among bin Laden’s militant Muslim followers–as if the announcement that he had been killed wouldn’t be enough to enrage them! And, furthermore, the body of bin Laden was quickly buried at sea out of “respect” for Muslim tradition that one has a speedy burial. But no mention is made, of course, as to why his body could not have been buried. Were all nearby cemeteries filled? And the question, “Why were the rest of the dead bodies of the other Muslims who were killed in the raid also not buried at sea?” has neither been asked nor answered. The media simply keeps regurgitating the announcement that Navy SEALS killed bin Laden. And, of course, the one thing a burial at sea accomplishes is it circumvents any attempt by independent sources to confirm the true identity of bin Laden via a post burial examination.

Is Osama bin Laden really dead? I don’t think there is any question about it. In fact, bin Laden has been dead for several years. If readers will recall, this is the latest of several announcements by various government spokesmen that Osama bin Laden left the land of the living. As respected researcher Joel Skousen notes in his latest World Affairs Brief, no less than 9 public announcements of bin Laden’s demise have been made spanning the years 2001-2009.

For example, on January 18, 2002, the Pakistani President declared, “I think now, frankly, he [bin Laden] is dead.”

In October 2002, Afghan President Hamid Karzai told CNN, “I would come to believe that [bin Laden] probably is dead.”

In November of 2005, Senator Harry Reid revealed that he was told Osama may have died in October of that year.

In September of 2006, French intelligence leaked a report suggesting Osama had died in Pakistan.

In March of 2009, noted military and intelligence analyst Angelo Codevilla stated, “All the evidence suggests Elvis Presley is more alive today than Osama bin Laden.”

And in May of 2009, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari said, “I’ve said before that he [bin Laden]–I don’t think he’s alive.” He also said the head of US intelligence told him they [the US] hadn’t heard from Osama bin Laden in 7 years so they presumed him dead.”

Skousen also points out the fact that it is unfathomable that bin Laden could have remained alive and hiding out in caves and primitive safe houses for an extended period of time, because it was a well known fact that he suffered from acute kidney disease that required almost daily usage of a dialysis machine (which was NOT present in the home where the US government claimed he was shot). US intelligence personnel surely knew that bin Laden was treated at the American Hospital in Dubai in July of 2001 by Dr. Terry Callaway, and that CIA station chief Larry Mitchell met bin Laden in the hospital during the time he was admitted. In fact, French television and the Agence France Presse reported that bin Laden was hospitalized between July 4th and 14th of that year.

I certainly do not doubt that Navy SEALS killed someone during that raid. In all likelihood, it was a bin Laden look-alike who had outlived his usefulness. The official story of the raid has changed so many times and has so many holes in it, it is an embarrassment to the US national press corps that they have carried the story “as is” in such a careless and unprofessional manner. But, then again, the national press corps has been little more than a national propaganda machine for the federal government for decades, anyway. So, why should this story be any different?

So, the obvious question that needs to be asked is, “What is to be gained by the announcement of this raid in which Osama bin Laden was supposedly killed?”

For one thing, this is going to make it extremely difficult for Republicans to beat President Barack Obama in the 2012 elections. Immediately following the raid’s announcement, Obama’s approval rating soared by almost 25 percentage points. And with an extremely weak GOP Presidential field (believe it or not, Republican Congressman Ron Paul actually fares better head-to-head against Obama than any other Republican candidate–but the Powers That Be (PTB) within the propaganda media and the GOP establishment will do everything in their power to prevent Paul from gaining the nomination), the “bin Laden factor” makes Obama almost unbeatable. As Skousen astutely asked, how many terrorists have Gingrich, Palin, or Huckabee killed?

However, the thing that benefits the most from this raid is America’s emerging police state, which is now strategically positioned to take another giant leap forward.

With bin Laden now declared “dead,” the US government will have to find another excuse to continue the “War On Terrorism.” Will US forces now pull out of Afghanistan? Not on your life! Literally! US forces are permanently embedded in the Middle East. They are never coming home. In fact, the US 2nd Marine Division is on alert for an insertion into Libya, and US attacks against Syria are soon to follow.

All the PTB need now is another 9/11-style attack, and the architects that are drawing up plans for America becoming a Gestapo-style police state will be free to launch their evil machinations almost at will. And revenge for the death of bin Laden will be the reason provided to the American public that will convince them to accept this next round of attacks against the Bill of Rights and America’s liberties.

While Americans are rejoicing over the death of Osama bin Laden, they need to be infuriated at the death of America, because that is what this so-called “War on Terror” is accomplishing.

JAPAN NUCLEAR SITUATION
Japan has thrown in the towel and resigned itself to the loss of the 4 nuclear reactors that were damaged in the earthquake and Tsunami. I don’t think there is any way they would allow them to put reactors 5 and 6 back on line–especially since there was another earthquake this week.

That’s bad economic news for the electric company, but the news is worse for Japan. The radiation levels are too high to do any more remediation. That means the reactors are going to be left to complete the slow meltdown that has been going on for weeks. They will continue to put small amounts of radiation into the air, but much larger amounts into the ocean. Experts I have spoken with say the meltdown will stay mostly contained in the reactor containment chambers, even though at least one is cracked. There will be a continued release of radiation into the air around Japan, but it only a very small percentage will get into the high altitude jet stream heading for America.

This isn’t going to end well, even though it is most likely not going to result in an event as bad as Chernobyl. There are extremely minor amounts of radioactivity being reported in the US, but they are minuscule. Don’t start taking Potassium Iodide. But you should being taking food grade iodine for your health. There is hardly any organic iodine in US soils anymore, so you should be taking regular Iodine supplements like Iodoral regularly anyway, to make sure your Thyroid, but not for radiation protection.

The biggest danger is contamination of the Pacific fish stock as the Japanese current flows north into Alaskan waters. That’s going to be a disaster for the fish industry. They will probably keep catching and canning anyway, so buy up what’s on the shelves now, but not in the future. You won’t be able to trust what comes next season. [END]

US INTEL: RUSSIA AND CHINA GREATEST THREATS Finally, someone had the courage to tell the truth to an unbelieving Congress—though he downplayed the threat by saying he didn’t think there was any intent. Wishful thinking!

From Luis Martinez of ABC News: The nation’s top intelligence officer has created another stir with comments today that Russia and China pose the greatest mortal threat to the United States. Controversy is nothing new to Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who has drawn past criticism for the lack of awareness of terror arrests in Britain and his characterization of the Muslim Brotherhood as a secular organization.

“During an appearance before the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on worldwide threats, Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., asked Clapper which country posed the greatest threat to the United States.

“’Certainly, the Russians still have a very formidable nuclear arsenal, which does pose potentially a mortal threat to us,’ Clapper said. ‘I don’t think they have the intent to do that.’ He added that China ‘is growing in its military capabilities. It has a full array of, whether conventional or strategic forces, that they are building. So they too do pose, potentially from a capabilities standpoint, a threat to us as a mortal threat.’

“Committee chairman Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., told Clapper he was surprised by his answer that Russia and China posed the greatest mortal threat and gave him an opportunity to clarify whether Iran or North Korea might be more of a threat. Clapper said he based his assessment strictly on the strategic nuclear capabilities of nation-states that have the potential to be mortal dangers to the U.S. and, ‘the two that come to mind because of their capabilities are Russia and China.’ Though Iran and North Korea were ‘of great concern,’ he said, they do not pose a threat to the continental United States.” True.

Author and political commentator Joel Skousen gives an in-depth discussion on how the election process is controlled by the establishment, with a particular focus on the 2012 election and the co-opted Tea Party movement. Skousen gives a detailed explanation of how he thinks the 2012 election will play out, with either Newt Gingrich or Sarah Palin emerging as the victorious Republican candidate.

Looking back to 2008, Skousen notes how Rudy Giuliani was promoted early on as one of the top Republican candidates when in fact he was a cross-dressing hardcore liberal. Judging from the poll numbers that Giuliani was going down in flames, the establishment had a big problem on their hands, especially given the candidacy of Ron Paul, and it was then that six major newspapers endorsed John McCain even though he was polling at only 2-3 per cent.

Knowing that McCain did not have a good record with conservatives, he was reviled in some quarters for promoting amnesty for illegal immigrants under the Bush administration, Sarah Palin was brought in to make conservatives bite the bullet and acquiesce to having John McCain be the candidate. Palin was picked because she would be very easy to manipulate, explains Skousen, and although initially Palin proved difficult to influence, she did finally succumb. Palin is now used to co-opt the Tea Party movement, and will be just as easily manipulated as was George W. Bush if she ever becomes President.

Wells ( email) spoke with political scientist and personal security expert Joel Skousen about the growing government assault on privacy and liberty, as well as New World Order and war scenarios. The current security precautions such as at airports are not really to stop terrorists, but to ferret out potential dissidents and resistors who could pose a problem for the future police state, he suggested. We are already seeing the three aspects necessary to establish this police state, Skousen outlined– a false threat of terrorism, thug-like individuals in the police, and a judiciary that won’t prosecute the police.

He laid out a financial end game in which the US national debt will become untenable, with the rise of inflation, sometime between 2020-2025. People have been diverted with the false threat of terrorism in order to cover up “our real enemies,” Russia & China, with whom the US will battle in a World War, he continued. “In the aftermath of that, they’re going to have an excuse to walk away from the debt,” because the US financial centers and computers will be destroyed.

Skousen described a Russian surgical nuclear attack on 15 American cities with military facilities such as San Diego, Seattle, Jacksonville, Norfolk, Colorado Springs, and Washington DC. While 20% of Americans will die in such attacks, he argued that nuclear attacks are survivable and promoted the idea that people construct fall-out shelters in their basements, as well as increase their self-sufficiency, as an EMP attack will knock out electricity for up to a year. He also foresees that America will go to war against Iran, probably in 2011— the U.S. is just waiting for the right provocation.

Early in this interview, Joel Skousen did talk about the coming hyperinflation. He just thinks it’s going to take longer to get here than some are predicting. We’ll see if Joel is right, or if it does come within two years, as many expect, such as the preceding post: Stansberry’s Investment Advisory: The End of America — “I reference our success and experience with Wall Street’s latest crisis because we believe there is an even bigger crisis lurking – something that will shake the very foundation of America”

“…despite its weakness it [the dollar] still is holding its own even against the Euro, which will probably collapse even before the dollar because there is so few out there compared to the dollar.

There is over 200 trillion dollars that have been monetized out there, so that the rate of inflation even at $3 trillion a year by the Federal Reserve is only 1 and 1/2 percent of the existing money supply.

It’s going to take a lot to get to hyperinflation. The powers that be know that. And so I think they’re going to continue to play the dollar, and play the inflation game.

So I’m predicting a long, downhill run on the dollar, steady downhill rather than an imminent collapse.”
