I had something to do with the removal of the sneeze guard.
To loud jeering from the public in a packed room at the Loussac Library, Anchorage Assembly Chair Suzanne LaFrance decided that Assemblywoman Jamie Allard and Mayor Dave Bronson ask too many questions of testifiers against the proposed mask ordinance. …
The effort to squelch questioning took a full hour of the Assembly’s time that had been set aside for public testimony. A few minutes into testimony, Adam Trombley, who works for the Administration as the director of economic and community development, walked to the public’s podium and removed the sneeze guard Plexiglas barrier [he wooden frame blocked tall testifiers’ eyes – ed.], sending the crowd into wild cheering.
He walked off with the podium as LaFrance became confused, without her “Sergeant of Arms” Chris Constant next to her to tell her what to do. So she called a recess and the official camera went dead.
After the break, LaFrance announced that the mayor had also dismissed the security guards from the room so they would not be able to remove people that she singled out. She said this is a separation of powers issue but that she would proceed with the meeting. (story)
OCTOBER 5, 2021 AUTHOR: SUZANNE DOWNING
For Assemblyman Chris Constant, there is no ‘God’ in Pledge of Allegiance
Anchorage Assembly Vice Chair Chris Constant, when asked by Assembly Chair Suzanne LaFrance to lead the Pledge of Allegiance on Oct. 5 before the Assembly took public testimony, could be heard leaving out the phrase “under God” as he led the public in the recitation.
His voice, picked up by microphone and broadcast throughout the room, clearly dropped the phrase. When members of the public shouted out the end of the Pledge, “with liberty and justice for all,” Constant then pointed them out and warned them they would be removed.
I wonder who yelled “with LIBERTY and JUSTICE for ALL!” How dare they proclaim liberty in the face of tyranny.
Listen as Assembly Vice Chair Chris Constant purposefully leaves “under God” out of the Pledge of Allegiance and then reports people for saying the Pledge too loudly, so they can be thrown out. Please feel free to share far and wide. People need to know how Anchorage is being led.
It’s sad to now hear Michael Nesmith’s shallow rational, but is not surprising now, 53 years later. As a teen, I was a huge fan; though, I never could understand their goofiness, which is somewhat explained here.
I’m pretty sure the first record album that I bought was their first album, “The Monkees” (1966) at age-9. I remember trying to decide if I would pay the extra 50 cents to buy it in stereo, or just get mono. I think I got mono. Someday, I’ll have to check.
I seem to recall that when I bought their second album, “More of the Monkees” (1967) it was in stereo, having either having learned the advantage, or mono was no longer available.
It seems crazy now, looking back so many years ago, thinking this was such a big deal — falling into Hollywood’s trap. They weren’t even a real band.
7:45 “And then, everything else, I just sort of showed up, and sat down, and kept my mouth shut. … I just felt like ‘roll with the flow, guys. This is good for you. It’s a good time. You’re a lucky sap. Be grateful, and take the money, and go home.'”
8:20 QUESTION: “The movie, ‘Head’ (1968) [goofy movie that made no sense to me as an 11-year-old]: what comes to mind?”
NESMITH: “It was a weed filled weekend…. We were all just high as a kite.”
19:00 “I just shut up and listened. That turns out to have been my best MO: ‘Shut up and listen. And sure enough, things come in and inspire.”
27:00 “The phrase is: ‘the Devil has no access to the singing man.'”
Spirit in the Sky” is a song written and originally recorded by Norman Greenbaum and released in late 1969. The single became a gold record, selling two million copies from 1969 to 1970, and reached number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart (April 18, 1970), where it lasted for 15 weeks in the Top 100, and #1 on WCFL…. (link)
I was age-13, and remember hearing this song played over and over on AM radio, which they did way too much. I was so glad when I found KQRS FM, a progressive rock station that would never repeat the same song in 24 hours, and would sometimes play entire sides of albums (real vinyl record LPs that real DJs played on a turntable in real time).
I now wonder what this did to America’s psyche, who heard it hundreds of times ad nauseam. I wasn’t mature enough spiritually at the time to think through the implications, being so young and not becoming a Christian until five years later.
A funeral home in Anchorage now uses it in their ad, playing the part that assures people they’re going to heaven when they die; though, this song wasn’t even written by a Christian, and may be mocking Christianity, as this writer theorizes. Continue reading “Was the ’70s hit “Spirit In The Sky” mocking Christianity & giving people false hope?”
Anchorage election today! Because of mail-in voting, we may not know the results for a few days unless Bronson and Dunbar are way ahead, which is what may happen. Then they’ll runoff a month from now. The school board election is crucial. I voted for Judy Eledge, Sami Graham, Kim Paulson and Elysa Vakalis, the conservatives, the first three solidly pro-real-education.
Very interesting to me: Suzanne Downing, ‘Must Read Alaska’ says 11% of Alaskans work for non-profits, which are mostly leftist organizations.
One of the “conservative” candidates, Bill Evans says he’s for vaccine passports.
Dave Bronson is TOTALLY for freedom for the people, and no Covid mandates at all!
Freedom fighter, assembly person Jamie Allard called in. What a champion she is!
Too many of those who have government jobs vote liberal for selfish reasons.
And then there are so many people who support everything Fauci and our Dr. Zink says.
It’s going to be tough for Bronson to win at the end, because of the over-the-top Covid fear, and the total blackout on vitamin D and the treatments that work.
If Dunbar gets in, we’ll have a tyrant, the LGBT marching mayor. Jamie Allard said this about Dunbar at 45:30:
“He has been leading the charge on the [Anchorage] Assembly, and has put us in this predicament [Covid lockdowns and mandates].”
I’ve been praying everything through that I can think of in the Spirit, but Satan has successfully deceived so many with Covid.
It will be to be tough for truth to prevail over fear based on many lies, pushed by the leftist media and our governor who says whatever Dr. Zink tells him to say.
If we do end up with the tyrannical, pro-LGBT mayor, Forest Dunbar, will the pastors then be willing to get right with those they’ve hurt and actually teach what the Bible says, or step down, so the real Christianity will happen, overcoming the evil with good, finally?
Dave Bronson is on at 37:20. A few minutes later, Jamie Allard blesses us with her perspective; then Suzanne Downing of ‘Must Read Alaska’ chimes in!
Great Photo – Dave Bronson is the man! Anchorage needs an honest, pragmatic mayor at the helm!
Dave remembers me from when I worked the NWA 747 freighters he piloted. He told me he also had trouble not hitting his head on the main deck’s ceiling as we both had to climb the ladder to get up to the cockpit.
I told him I went up it too fast twice, and should have learned the first time. He said it happened to him too, and that the opening wasn’t designed for people over 6 feet.
Our 747F-100s were designed in the ’60s.
I’ve been taking cold showers for at least a year. Alaska’s tap water is ideal at 41°F in winter and 46°F in summer.
My feet used to get cold outside, but now I can wear summer shoes (with screws for traction) with one pair of regular socks comfortably in slightly below zero Fahrenheit
My hands still get cold though, which I’m finally now theorizing may be because my arms and hands don’t spend much time in the cold water, which I’m going to now change, whereas the feet are in cold water during the entire shower.
As a child, playing outside for hours in Minnesota, and downhill skied without a mask. I frostbit my fingers, toes and nose, and thought they’d never improve.
My toes seem back to normal now at age-63, thanks to Wim Hof and Alaska’s cold tap water!
Life giving therapy that costs nothing!
interesting, instead of straight mind-control, like most of it is today.
“We formed this band, and decided it had to be original. In those days, the currency was originality. You needed to be original. These days, it’s more like you have to be ‘the same’ to fit into some market concept.”
“We decided to use European music for the influence.”
Made fun of for making sure what we’re being told is actually so.
Paul: “Now these [the BEREANS] were MORE NOBLE than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, EXAMINING THE SCRIPTURES DAILY TO SEE WHETHER THESE THINGS WERE SO.” – Acts 17:11
Nothing demonstrates the glory of God to me in nature more than the wondrous northern lights dancing overhead, filling the entire sky!
Walking through the Redwoods is my #2 most awesome. And the flight over the 50-mile-long Ruth glacier in front of Denali is #3.
I’ve actually had some AMAZING supernatural experiences in the presence of God that top these natural experiences, including when the angels sung during the Rodney Howard-Browne meetings in Anchorage, 1993.
The coming spiritual revival will be AWESOME!
I do like this “Open Heart” image a lot!
JOY OF NATURE
Here’s a short video of the best northern lights I saw on my 18-night springtime Aurora Hunt to the Brooks Range of Northern Alaska in early April, 2020. Hope you can feel the real-time JOY, and please feel free to share!
“Open Heart” is at 5:30
45:00 A caller, Joe in Nome, Alaska talks about the Anchorage Times or Anchorage Daily News’ hit-piece, in ’95 or ’96 on apparently Naturopathic Dr. Robert Rowen, who was my doctor here in Anchorage, and one of the pioneers of oxygen therapy, which has been found effective in treating the coronavirus illness!
Big Pharma discredits natural remedies that they can’t patent, because they’re more love-of-money than cure driven. Sadly, we don’t have medical freedom written into our Constitution, so Big Pharma is literally allowed to get away with murder, because of their methods that do more harm than good and successful methods they demonize.
Bernie Sanders’ health care being a “natural right for all” only includes the astronomically expensive Big Pharma love-of-money version. Natural remedies are not a “natural right.”
Dr. Rowen left Alaska, and now has a clinic in California.
I’ve been pushing this since the mid-’80s. GREAT source of SELENIUM (skin elasticity, detox, etc.) and many other key nutrients.
The king is KAL *Imported* Nutritional Yeast; though, it’s more expensive, and the deep yellow colored (fortified) ones work too.
Coconut cream seems to also be high in selenium.
The Dome on the Rock mosque won’t need to be taken out. I waded through Hezekiah’s tunnel ending at the Gihon Spring, when I visited Israel in the ’80s. And in the ’90s, Mom and I saw the impressive model of 1st century Jerusalem at the Israeli museum shown in this video. Never did I think that the model could have been false. Experts tell why here.
I saw a Chuck Missler presentation of this misnomer a few years ago. This video is really good, because it also clearly shows who will rule from the rebuilt temple. It’s not going to be pretty.
Surprisingly, they give two references to the antichrist ruling from the rebuilt temple, but don’t include the main one: 2 Thess. 2.:
3 DON’T LET ANYONE DECEIVE YOU in any way, for that day will not come until the REBELLION occurs and the MAN OF LAWLESSNESS is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he SETS HIMSELF UP IN GOD’S TEMPLE [the third temple in Jerusalem], PROCLAIMING HIMSELF TO BE GOD.
21:30 The western wall, or “wailing wall” is not part of Herod’s temple, but the Antonio Fortress, a Roman fort.
The temple was actually by the Gihon Spring.
28:12 The model of Jerusalem at the Israeli Museum shows the Antonio Fortress being much too small, because the temple shouldn’t be there at all.
31:30 Where the original temple once stood: the City of David on the SE ridge of Jerusalem (min.-48)
34 The rock under the Dome of the Rock was a Christian site.
37 “No stone left” prophesy fulfilled
43 Rebuilding of the Jewish temple will start the 7-year tribulation period where the antichrist will reign from

YouTube air date: March 31, 2019. During this series of videos, Jake woke me up to what really happened at Sandy Hook. Thank you, Jake, and I only wish I had heard this information earlier. This is the first time I heard this 7,500 page government report existed with videos, photos and documents. I immediately “liked” these videos, and thanked Jake in a comment. The YouTube videos are all down now, but thankfully, Jake put them on Bitchute.
I never was very interested in Sandy Hook, so never did a deep investigation, unlike what I did with 9/11 and Vegas, which my low number of Sandy Hook posts back then reflected, of which some contained false information, that I’ve since taken down here. I apologize for any hurt my posts may have caused. I naively believed Halbig and Fetzer, like so many also did. No one ever challenged me with the facts, except what I read from Joel Skousen in World Affairs Brief, who said he knew a family or families who lost children. I did two posts that are still here which quoted what he said. I should have trusted Skousen, but at that time I never would have guessed that Halbig and Fetzer were lying. During the Vegas investigation, I saw firsthand how Fetzer operated, manipulating the evidence. He even publicly mocked Jeff Rense on his Rense Radio show, because Jeff Rense believed people actually died in Vegas — which I ended up spending a lot of time proving in my Vegas posts and comments elsewhere, trying to help keep the truth community from disintegrating.
14:30 How the FBI infiltrates and radicalizes people. Sandy Hook is being used to discredit the truth community and shut down free speech!
23:00 Jake relates because of his extreme, suicidal pain when he lost his child and during the court battle afterwards!
38 Lenny Pozner used to listen to Alex Jones, so he understood conspiracies. The Sandy hoaxers were so cruel to him, so he posted his son’s information online, hoping they’d be convinced. Hoaxers wouldn’t stop.
49:15 Lift the Veil and Jake’s disappointing chat room interaction. Stolpman is still dug in as far as I know. Sad to see this schism.
50 Pozner tried to meet with Halbig, but Wolf wouldn’t speak to Lenny unless he’d exhume his son.
56 Why the local ambulances were sent instead of the 31-mile-away helicopters
1:04:00 Footage of Alex Jones changing mind on Halbig, and how he never investigated Sandy Hook:
1:04:30 “We went off news reports and other people that were investigating. We did not ourselves investigate Sandy Hook.”
1:05:20 “The Sandy Hook father that just killed himself, Jeremy Richmond was harassed by Wolfgang Halbig who kept telling the Infowars audience that Richmond’s daughter was alive and well.
1:09:45 FBI report explained that didn’t include Sandy Hook deaths. Jake’s tweet:
A common Sand Hook theory is that the FBI reported NO Newtown murders in 2012. Homicides investigated by the STATE police rather than the LOCAL police were on a separate page. You can’t point to the wrong page as evidence when the info is simply published under a different category.
1:11:15 Jake still wonders about the guy in camo pants in the woods, explained here.
1:13:00 THIS WAS A SHOCK TO ME, having never heard about this huge database!
Government’s massive Sandy Hook database report: cspsandyhookreport.ct.gov

1:16:20 Infowars makes $55 million per year!
1:19:30 Harassment of Sandy Hook families is being used to take down truthers’ free speech!
1:46:15 Overview of Sandy Hook. Adam Lanza’s records go back many years.
2:02:00 “People died in Las Vegas. … Vegas was a false flag attack. That does not mean it was a hoax and nobody died. … Las Vegas was not a hoax.”
2:07:00 People really died and were injured in the Boston bombing, and there were crisis actors there.
2:09:00 Adam Lanza history
2:17:10 Adam Lanza may have been groomed by an intelligence agency. People online were encouraging him to research mass murder events
2:27:00 “This is where a lot of people get into trouble. … Maybe for all of these years they have been believing something, and it would hurt them emotionally to find out ‘you know what, I fell for it. I fell for this no-children-were-killed stuff.’ … It takes somebody with some real emotional security to own up to a mistake, to say ‘I goofed up on this, and based on the new information, I’m now going to go forward in a different direction, rather than pursue the direction I’ve been going incorrectly all this time.’ I respect those who make course corrections when they get new evidence. I do not respect those who close their eyes and plug their ears, and who engage in flaming and attacks to try to satiate the rattling of the cognitive dissonance that’s going off in their minds.”
2:38… & 2:46… Mass groupthink happened with S H. The confident swayed many truthers.

I remember the cold ’81-82 winter well, working the planes outside at Anchorage International in a string of below -20°F nights. One night was -33°F. But the previous winter, my first in Alaska, had a melting spell, like ours yesterday, but longer.
Anchorage’s winter temps are much warmer than interior Alaska’s because of the ocean’s warming affect.
ANCHORAGE (KTUU) – 2019 will enter the books as the warmest year on record for Anchorage. The average temperature for the year is 42.5 degrees Fahrenheit. The previous “warmest year” was 2016 with an average temperature of 41.9F. In fact, the five warmest years for Anchorage have occurred in the past six years. The records for Anchorage go back to 1954. …
Anchorage had a record year overall, breaking the all-time record high on July 4 by hitting 90 degrees. The previous record had been 85 degrees set on June 14, 1969. Continue reading “2019 Record Warm Year for Anchorage, Alaska – 5 warmest years occurred in last 6 years”
Dave and I attended seminary together during my second time at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. I still consider him a close friend; though, we haven’t communicated much lately. I do differ greatly with some of his Catholic teachings — for example, the Rosary and praying to saints, which is discussed in this video — we think a lot alike regarding who goes to heaven. I’ve been taking cold showers for about a year, and sometimes baths, after discovering Wim Hof. Our tap water temperature in Anchorage, Alaska is ideal:
- Winter: 41º Fahrenheit (5º Celsius)
- Summer: 46º Fahrenheit (8º Celsius)
Dr. Berg recommends 20 minutes, but that’s probably for water that’s not as cold. Wim Hof says at least 3 minutes.
At the very end of this short video, UPS freighter tails can be seen. Our NW Airlines cargo facility, where we did all the transloads, used to be between UPS and the trees showing behind the tails.

Video: Bear sprints past parked planes at Anchorage’s airport
At first, James Batman thought a black, furry dog had sprinted by him at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, near where FedEx parks its cargo planes.
“Then I looked back again and saw it had no tail….
The bear had gotten into the area by burrowing under a nearby fence, said Trudy Wassel, division operations manager at airport. Airport staff had since repaired the area.
Wassel said the airport has two, full-time wildlife biologists to handle wildlife issues.
“We take it very seriously,” she said.
The airport borders Point Woronzof and Kincaid Park, areas where it’s not uncommon to see black bears, said Ken Marsh, a spokesman at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
Sharing my woes with you all. I like peace and quiet.
I’ve been dreading this, and tried to see if the planes could fly westerly when winds allow instead, to give us a little break at times. Unbelievably, the airport only has instruments on one side of the east/west runway (FAA’s decision), which need to be always used because some airlines unnecessarily require pilots to always use IFR instruments even on bright, sunny days.
Two of the officials in the conference call will also be affected by the noise because of where they live. They were frustrated nothing could be done. I left the conversation dumfounded. FAA and a few airlines’ ridiculous rules have left us in a one-way pickle.
Is this project even safe? As I write this, the wind is officially a strong crosswind from the south at 20mph, since planes can only take off to the east and land from the east.
What if crosswinds or tail winds are even stronger? I was told there is no workaround solution, and that planes will likely not be able to land at the military base. Landing in Fairbanks appears to be the only option, which is 260 miles by air and 360 miles by bus (if passengers have to be transported). Continue reading “(vid) Anchorage airport maintenance means noise over our house for two summers! — Is the project even safe? Planes can only take off and land in one direction during crosswinds and tail winds!”
Lately, I’ve been mostly posting music videos on my personal blog, but thought I’d post this one here too.
I was greatly impressed with Renaissance while in high school, and was able to see them at the Minnesota State Fair playing in a small pavilion to only about 25 people. I couldn’t believe my eyes, standing right in front of one of the greatest bands and most people just kept walking down the path without coming inside — for free.
Jon Camp is still my favorite bass player — having such a soaring, majestic style — a one-of-a-kind! Some compare him to Chris Squire of ‘YES,’ but Jon has always moved me more.
Annie Haslam has a 5-octave voice, and still sings incredibly at age-70: (music video) Renaissance – ‘Carpet of the Sun’ with Chamber Orchestra
Renaissance’s style was elegance, standing tall like the Redwoods; though, some of the lyrics were a bit dark, and were written by another lady, who seemed to be occult influenced. This concert has a great, upbeat feel, unlike some of their studio LP albums, like “Turn of the Cards,” which I still remember buying at the record store at 66th St. and Penn Ave. in Richfield, MN, while living in nearby Bloomington.
I must have heard them on KQRS, the progressive rock FM station that I was often glued to. They never played the same song in a 24 hour period, and had real DJs playing real vinyl LP records, sometimes entire albums. What a treat!
I’ve always been impressed with their song, “Mother Russia,” but didn’t know until hearing Jon Camp’s intro here that it’s about Alexander Solzhenitsyn, the imprisoned truther, author.
Uplifting concert here!
Neither the NRA or Ted Nugent remind us of the REAL REASON FOR THE 2ND AMENDMENT. It’s not about hunting, but to protect the citizens from a tyrannical government. It’s a strong deterrent for the government to not become tyrannical.
I mentioned this to Ted when he was at the Alaska State Fair. He said: “that’s the only reason, period” — but then he doesn’t mention it in public, from what I’m seeing — nor does hardly anyone else.
That’s why “assault” rifles should not be banned, or high capacity clips.
It’s not about hunting or even self-defense. Why don’t patriots openly talk about the real reason?
A few hours later, I watched Ted on stage, turn around and swing his butt at us, wagging an attached foxtail.
I grew up in the ’60s and ’70s watching ABC’s Wide World of Sports, which began like this:

DISPERSING DRY ICE FACT: When I worked at the airport in Anchorage, Alaska, when it was too FOGGY for planes to land and take off, the tower would dispatch a small, specialized plane to go up and drop DRY ICE onto it, after which we could see the fog dissipate as the snow/ice crystals would fall (which moments ago had been fog).
We saw this happen many times. Our dispatchers would sometimes request for it to be done. Imagine how effectively a group of large planes could drop the temp of a hurricane, to reduce it suddenly from a cat 4 to cat 2, which happened with Irma.
Controlling Hurricanes: Harvey, Irma, And Now Jose?
Was the recent rash of destructive cyclones just an act of nature? Or is there more to the story? Climate engineering (including the manipulation of hurricanes), is not just theory, speculation, or conjecture, it is verifiable fact and has been since project “Cirrus” was deployed by the US military in 1947. Anyone who takes the time to legitimately investigate the climate engineering / geoengineering issue, without preconception or programmed bias, can only come to the conclusion that climate engineering is real and ongoing. Why are global powers intervening with Earth’s natural systems, and thus completely derailing them? Though the answers are complex, ultimately the global climate engineering Manhattan program comes down to power and control on many fronts and with many layers. One of the primary objectives is this, geoengineering / solar radiation management is being utilized to mask the true severity of biosphere and climate damage already done, while inflicting exponentially more damage in the process. Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have already made their mark, is Hurricane Jose next? The 8 minute video below provides some answers.
We must all bear the burden of exposing and halting the global climate engineering assault. This monumental effort cannot be waged by only a few on behalf of the many. We must each arm ourselves with credible data, and help with the critical effort to sound the alarm.

New: CIA Agent Whistleblower Risks All To Expose The Shadow Government
Kevin Shipp was a decorated CIA officer who refused to look the other way in regard to government criminality and cover-up. At a very important public awareness event, held by GeoengineerWatch.org in Northern California, on July 28th, 2017, Mr. Shipp presented a shocking and compelling presentation on numerous, horrific and ongoing government crimes. The total persecution of anyone who dares to tell the truth about rampant government tyranny is also fully exposed. The paradigm we have all known has been built on deception and the dark agendas of the global power structure. The courage Kevin Shipp has shown by doing his best to expose government criminality and tyranny serves as a stellar example to us all.
We desperately need other individuals in government agencies and the US military to follow Kevin’s lead. All of us are essential in the battle to help wake the masses to the truth so that the whistleblowers have the support they need to come forward. If we have any chance of stopping the completely out of control criminal cabal that currently runs our country and much of the world, we must all make our voices heard, we must all join the fight for the greater good.
I really like this movie, largely because of the outstanding sensitivity and leadership by Lt. Charles B. Gatewood, played by Jason Patric.
Here, he’s rebuked by Robert Duvall (Al Sieber, Chief of Scouts) for not hating the Indians and Geronimo.
Later in the movie, he gives the cross he hung from his neck to Geronimo.
It’s rare for Hollywood to give a Christlike character a leading role.
Geronimo: An American Legend (1993)
Al Sieber, Chief of Scouts: I just think you’re a real sad case. You don’t love who you’re fighting for, and you don’t hate who you’re fighting against.

My favorite photo software program buried by Google! Nothing else is like it, or can be:
Google’s “Don’t be EVIL” slogan is like Fox News’ “Fair & Balanced.” Saying they are not something may fool some, but EVIL IS: buying Nik’s patented U-Point technology, developed by almost 100 brilliant Germans, and then burying it, so NO ONE WILL EVER BE ABLE TO USE CONTROL POINTS AGAIN!

Google has quietly announced that it will be abandoning the Nik Collection from here on out. The announcement was made through a simple banner message found on the Nik Collection homepage.
“The Nik Collection is free and compatible with Mac OS X 10.7 through 10.10; Windows Vista, 7, 8; and Adobe Photoshop through CC 2015,” Google writes. “We have no plans to update the Collection or add new features over time.”
Published May 30, 2017
Google will stop providing updates for its Nik Collection suite of plug-in photo editing tools. The ‘announcement’ comes by way of a banner at the top of the Nik Collection site, stating that there are no plans to update or add features to the Collection.
Google acquired Nik in 2012, taking ownership of its desktop apps as well as its popular Snapseed mobile editing app. The company began offering the Collection free of charge last year.
UAA was already bad when I attended there in the mid to late ’80s — naked paintings by art students lined the art’s building hallway • nudity in plays • psych, science and history department lies! Much evil originates from this publicly funded University. Many students have lost their faith, while most pastors say nothing.
Painting of Decapitated Trump Allowed to Hang in Art Gallery at U of Alaska
Oh, right, “art.”
A painting depicting the severed head of President Trump hangs in a University of Alaska-Anchorage art gallery with not much fuss at all.
Created by an assistant professor, Thomas Chung, the painting features a naked actor Chris Evans — yeah, the Captain America — holding the head of the president as blood drips down onto a young Hillary Clinton dressed in white, clinging to the leg of Evans.
Chung said his reason for the brutal painting was a result of him spending “days just weeping” after election night and that his feelings on Trump’s victory just “bled into that.” Apparently literally.
Though he was hesitant to submit the work for a faculty art show knowing the controversy it would stir, Chung figured at the very least, it would start a conversation:
“I was really torn about putting this piece up a faculty show, because I would never talk about my own political beliefs to my students. I would never push that upon them and make them feel uncomfortable, and so I wondered to myself if putting up this painting was in a way doing that. But I realized that I feel very strongly about this, and I think even students that might be pro-Trump supporters could benefit from having a conversation with me about why I feel this way — why I painted this.”
Does anybody believe a Trump-hating professor would hide those political feelings from students? Didn’t think so.
A former UAA professor, Paul R. Berger, spoke out from his conservative perspective: “First thing that comes to mind is freedom of expression, fair enough (although, I might wager the severed head of our former president might illicit a different response from the administration of UAA and their student body). The second is public funding of our university system.”
Berger also made the astute observation that a severed Obama head would illicit a completely different reaction:
“Had the roles been reversed, and it was Obama’s head hanging there, I think the outrage would be fantastic. As a free speech advocate, everyone has a right to express their opinion the way they want to express them. But as a parent and a citizen, there’s a discussion. In a university setting, what’s appropriate?”
Chung’s “art” had the full backing of the university’s fine arts department:
“I guess the people are upset about the work that’s being shown. If they were taking a class at the university and made art that was considered controversial, no matter what their political or religious bent is, we would do our best to protect them and protect their rights to make that kind of work in the institution, whether it would be a student or faculty.”
That would not be the statement if that was Obama’s head bleeding out.
