Hours after the storm arrived, officials said there were no reports of problems with power grids, GPS, satellites or other technologies that are often disrupted by solar storms.

In our polling location, Ron Paul got a close second, but ended up a distant third in the overall. I thought that was strange, but not impossible:

Paul was targeted with voter fraud and manipulation in many states, some of which has been proven, but the main reason Ron isn’t winning is because most evangelical ‘Christians’ will only vote for warmongers, which is so reverse-Christian — especially since we’ve been lied to about the real reasons for previous wars of this century; even the CIA doesn’t know for sure if Iran even has a nuclear bomb program at all; and it seems these same people are very reluctant to look at the solid 9/11 evidence that proves that those planes could not have taken down the twin towers (which I prove here at ToBeFree).
9/11 was the New Pearl Harbor needed so the people would back the globalists’ wars and accept the police state. It’s baffling to me how ‘Christians’ would be the main warmongers, along with the country western people. For almost every ‘Christian knows this verse:

Paul’s ardent supporters here in the 49th state were on Wednesday casting a wide net, including allegations of polling impropriety, disenfranchisement and other shenanigans by Alaska Republican Party officials.
As the only Republican presidential candidate to make the lonely journey to Alaska this election cycle, and with a groundswell of support from the state’s libertarian-leaning independents, many national pundits and local political watchers had expected a Ron Paul win here on Super Tuesday.
It did not come to pass. Paul ended up placing third in Alaska’s presidential preference poll. Mitt Romney won Alaska by the skin of his nose, taking 32.4 percent of the vote, according to The Associated Press. Rick Santorum, in what seemed surprising, came in a strong second here, taking 29.2 percent. Paul received 3,175 votes, or 24 percent of the turnout. That should net Paul about six delegates to the GOP National Convention in August.
It all amounted to some serious, post-Super Tuesday head scratching for the Paul 2012 campaign after their man had lost three states he’d been predicted to win, including Alaska, Idaho and North Dakota.

The U.S. representative from Texas spoke to about 1,000 people at a Fairbanks hotel ballroom and followed that with at least 1,200 more packed into an Anchorage convention center as he poured out the message that America must stop misusing its military while putting its financial house in order.
Far more will be achieved with negotiation and trade than military options….
In Anchorage, Paul said presidents from different parties have been elected but policies never change, including promises by Republicans to balance the budget. …
But Paul continually returned to the theme that America’s problem are tied to performing acts that are unconstitutional or unlawful, such as fighting wars without a declaration of war, and acting as the world’s policeman. In a surprising election-year gambit, Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski has gutted legislation with strong bipartisan support that would protect the U.S. power grid from solar flares and Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) weapons, to benefit a “clean” energy bill backed by Senate Democrats.
The original bill, known as the GRID Act, authorized the federal government to take emergency measures to protect some 300 giant power transformers around the country. It passed the House of Representatives by a unanimous voice vote in August, an unusual show of bipartisan support in this Congress.
But when it went to the Senate, the bill was gutted of the measures to protect the power grid from EMP attack by Murkowski and committee chairman Jeff Bingamon, D-N.M., while other portions of the bill were added to her own energy bill, S. 1462, the American Clean Energy Act of 2009. …
The stakes of this election year wrangling could not be higher, said Peter Pry, a former CIA analyst and executive director of the congressionally chartered EMP Commission.
“Within 12 months of an EMP attack or a massive solar flare, between two-thirds to 90 percent of the U.S. population would perish” from lack of electricity, Pry said, quoting the conclusions from the EMP Commission’s two public reports.

Scientists in Alaska are investigating whether seals are being killed by radiation from Japan’s crippled Fukushima nuclear plant.
Scores of ring seals have washed up on Alaska’s arctic coastline since July either injured or killed by a mysterious disease which biologists first thought was a virus.
But the bleeding lesions on the hind flippers, irritated skin around the nose and eyes and patchy hair loss on the seals’ fur coats may have been caused by radiation from the stricken nuclear plant. Three reactors at the nuclear plant went into meltdown following the catastrophic tsunami caused by an 9.0-magnitude earthquake off Japan’s north-east coast in March.
Now animals several thousands miles away in Barrow, Alaska, are washing up with injuries thought to have been caused by the fallout from the nuclear meltdown.

NEW DEVICES: Agency says Tuck’s claims are inaccurate.
Alaska state Rep. Chris Tuck is running TV ads telling people they can skip the new body scanners at Alaska airports and should call airport police if the Transportation Security Administration gets too frisky with the resulting pat-downs.
But Tuck is wrong in making the claim that “inappropriate images are taken and stored” with the security scanners, according to the TSA.

“All we’re doing is creating security theater, giving Americans the belief that they are safer. But the real question is, ‘Are we safer?’ ” he said.
Anchorage travel analyst and TSA critic Scott McMurren applauded Tuck’s effort. McMurren said he believes TSA does store the images.
“They have to store them; how else would they go back and see them if there is an issue?” he said.
But McMurren said that the bigger point is that the body scanners are “invasive, degrading, ineffective and expensive.”

Without doubt, the United States needs the means to defend itself from terrorists.
Without doubt, the United States should not, in providing for that defense, violate the constitutional principles that define a free people possessed of rights that no government can take away at its discretion.
That’s what provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act do.
They give the president authority to order the military to detain U.S. citizens, on U.S. soil, suspected of terrorist or related activities. And that detention can be without end, for the duration of a war that may have no end, without legal representation, formal charges, the right to face accusers or the right to a trial.
This is flat wrong and patently, dangerously un-American. …
What’s stunning is that the Senate voted 93-7 in favor of these provisions, which were crafted in closed-door meetings without public hearings. We’d like to say that Sens. Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski were principled enough to be among the seven opposed, but regrettably that was not the case.

• Compromises the requirement for warrants, probable cause and an oath of affirmation guaranteed by the Fourth Amendment.
• Nullifies the requirement for a grand jury and allows for the deprivation of liberty without due process of law guaranteed by the Fifth Amendment.
• Suspends habeas corpus, and allows for indefinite interment, in disregard of the Sixth Amendment.
• Allows for the indefinite denial of bail, in contradiction of the Eighth Amendment.
• Allows all of these assaults without the oversight of courts or representation for the accused.
Our senators’ votes for this assault on our Constitution are shameful. That 91 other senators joined them is no excuse for breaking their oath.

Palmer to discontinue adding fluoride in water
PALMER, Alaska – The town of Palmer will discontinue the practice of adding fluoride to city water.
The Palmer City Council voted 6-1 Tuesday to prohibit fluoridation in the public water supply, effective immediately. Fluoride in the town of 6,000 northeast of Anchorage has been added to the water since 1967.
Palmer City Clerk Janette Bower said Friday the council asked for an investigation in response to citizen concerns about the possible health effects of fluoridation.

But thanks to concerted public outcry and growing momentum in Alaska and elsewhere to end the practice, the Palmer City Council has officially passed an ordinance repealing the town’s water fluoridation mandate.
Both Fairbanks and Juneau, which represent the second and third most populous cities in Alaska, respectively, recently decided to end their water fluoridation programs after some members of special fluoride task forces found water fluoridation to be a questionable and unsubstantiated “public health” protocol. But what really pushed the decision over the edge in both cases was the surge of public opposition.
Following in these two cities footsteps, Palmer city officials recently decided to go the same route by heeding petitions from the public against the addition of fluoride in water as well. And by doing so, the town will now save thousands of dollars a year in material, labor, and maintenance costs associated with dripping the toxic chemical into the water supply.
“In response to concerns about the risks of fluoride in the Palmer public water supply, the City Council directed the administration to investigate the issue and in response to the investigation, it has determined that an ordinance be introduced ending the addition of fluoride to the public water supply,” says the summary statement on the passage of the ordinance.
“The water fluoridation concerns include moral, ethical, safety, and efficacy aspects of adding fluoride to the public water supplies.”
The report cites the fact that 99 percent of western continental Europe, as well as most of the rest of the world, has either ended or long-rejected water fluoridation for some of the very same reasons. Only five percent of the world’s population, after all, is exposed to artificially fluoridated water — and 50 percent of such people live in North America, and primarily in the US.
Other cities and counties that have recently ended their water fluoridation programs include Pinellas County, Fla. (Tampa area), College Station, Tex., Slave Lake, Alberta, Can., Hohenwald, Tenn., Pottstown, Penn., and Spring Hill, Tenn. (http://www.fluoridealert.org/commun…).

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — An unknown disease is killing or weakening scores of ringed seals along Alaska’s north coast, where the animals have been found with lesions on their hind flippers and inside their mouths.
Ringed seals, the main prey of polar bears, and a species that rarely comes ashore, in late July began showing up on the Beaufort Sea coast outside Barrow with the lesions, patchy hair loss and skin irritation around the nose and eyes.

Beavers get tough defending their turf
… These days the beavers go on the offensive, chasing pooches out of the lake even when unprovoked.
After beavers sent at least half a dozen dogs to veterinarians for stitches or worse this spring, the city Parks Department this week posted signs at the popular off-leash dog park. “WARNING AGGRESSIVE BEAVERS ARE LIVING IN UNIVERSITY LAKE!” the notices read.
The lakeside battles served as a seemingly annual reminder: Living in Anchorage means sharing the city with a menagerie of animals, including these industrious, sometimes ornery rodents.
While many people admire them, the animals are often in conflict with city life and you might be surprised how many places they pop up around town.
University Lake is the only place beavers have been reported to regularly attack dogs.
But they chewed down trees freshly planted for a road and trail improvement project on Romig Hill near Westchester Lagoon.
They’ve gnawed vegetation up and down Campbell Creek.
Their construction projects have raised the water level and contributed to basement flooding near Windsong Park east of Muldoon Road.

FAIRBANKS — The Fairbanks City Council voted 5-1 Monday to ban additional fluoride from Fairbanks’ drinking water.
Ordinance 5849, prohibiting the addition of fluoride to community water systems, was introduced by Mayor Jerry Cleworth on May 23 after recommendations made by the Fairbanks Fluoride Task Force. The task force was created by the City Council to study the fluoridation issue and included experts in the fields of chemistry, geochemistry, microbiology, medicine and dentistry. …
Bratcher pointed out the task force recommended the ban even though experts such as the American Dental Association, The Alaska Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention support the use of fluoride in public water supplies. …
The vote came after more than an hour of pubic testimony, most of it in favor of passing the ordinance.
The reasons for opposition to fluoride varied.
One woman maintained that fluoride was used by the Nazis to sterilize people in concentration camps and make them docile. …

JAPAN NUCLEAR SITUATION
Japan has thrown in the towel and resigned itself to the loss of the 4 nuclear reactors that were damaged in the earthquake and Tsunami. I don’t think there is any way they would allow them to put reactors 5 and 6 back on line–especially since there was another earthquake this week.
That’s bad economic news for the electric company, but the news is worse for Japan. The radiation levels are too high to do any more remediation. That means the reactors are going to be left to complete the slow meltdown that has been going on for weeks. They will continue to put small amounts of radiation into the air, but much larger amounts into the ocean. Experts I have spoken with say the meltdown will stay mostly contained in the reactor containment chambers, even though at least one is cracked. There will be a continued release of radiation into the air around Japan, but it only a very small percentage will get into the high altitude jet stream heading for America.
This isn’t going to end well, even though it is most likely not going to result in an event as bad as Chernobyl. There are extremely minor amounts of radioactivity being reported in the US, but they are minuscule. Don’t start taking Potassium Iodide. But you should being taking food grade iodine for your health. There is hardly any organic iodine in US soils anymore, so you should be taking regular Iodine supplements like Iodoral regularly anyway, to make sure your Thyroid, but not for radiation protection.
The biggest danger is contamination of the Pacific fish stock as the Japanese current flows north into Alaskan waters. That’s going to be a disaster for the fish industry. They will probably keep catching and canning anyway, so buy up what’s on the shelves now, but not in the future. You won’t be able to trust what comes next season. [END]

Radioactive particles from the stricken Fukushima nuclear facility would take around a week to reach Alaska and eleven days to reach Los Angeles, according to an Accuweather.com analysis, which highlights the fact that prevailing winds over the region would send any potential fallout from the crisis-hit plant drifting towards west coast cities in the United States.

Given the fact that many analysts believe the Japanese government is grossly understating the amount of radioactive particles released by the two separate explosions to affect the Fukushima plant, one which occurred Saturday and one earlier today, monitoring stations in Alaska will not know if there is a threat from such radiation until Saturday at the earliest.
“Radiation detected at the Fukushima plant on Monday is twice the maximum seen so far,” the BBC is reporting, citing Kyodo News.
An Accuweather.com analysis highlights how prevailing wind trajectories would take the radiation from a westerly direction towards the west coast of the United States.
“A typical wind trajectory across the Pacific is westerly, since there is often a large dome of high pressure over the central Pacific and an area of low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska,” writes meteorologist Meghan Evans.
Today’s localized winds are set to carry any radiation out into the Pacific from a north westerly to south easterly direction. However, “The wind direction will switch to an onshore direction Monday night into Tuesday, threatening to send the radiation toward the population,” writes Evans.
“This is not good news, since an onshore direction would blow most of the radiation toward populated areas. An added threat is that with higher elevations just about 4 miles inland from the power plants, if a temperature inversion sets up in the atmosphere, radiation could be trapped.”
The worst case scenario is that localized winds could take the fallout south to Tokyo, and the prevailing westerly winds could also carry upper atmosphere particles towards the U.S.
It would take roughly seven days for the radiation to reach Anchorage, eight days until it reached Honolulu, ten days for Seattle and eleven days before it hit Los Angeles, according to figures calculated by Expert Senior Global Meteorologist Jim Andrews.
Assurances from officials that any radiation would dissipate over the Pacific Ocean before reaching the United States are tenuous given the fact that pollution from Chinese coal factories, traveling significantly greater distances, routinely hits California.
“Previous studies have documented that dust from Asia — especially from deserts and industrial regions of China — routinely crosses the Pacific Ocean on prevailing winds to sully the air over the western U.S.,” highlights Massie Santos Ballon, a student in the Science Communication Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory has also studied how, “About a third of the airborne lead particles recently collected at two sites in the San Francisco Bay Area came from Asia.”
Weather conditions will hugely influence where any potential radiation falls. If there is a significant amount of rainfall, which has been forecast for the next few days, the majority of the radiation will fall in a localized area. However, drier conditions will allow any radiation to travel much further.
As we featured in our earlier report, nuclear expert Joe Cirincione also fears that radiation from the Japanese nuclear plant could also reach the west coast.
When Fox News host Chris Wallace questioned whether radioactivity could travel thousands of miles across the Pacific, Cirincione responded, “Oh, absolutely. Chernobyl, which happened about 25 years ago, the radioactivity spread around the entire northern hemisphere. It depends how many of these cores melt down and how successful they are on containing it once this disaster happens.”
Concern surrounding the likely path of any radiation is emphasized by the fact that the French embassy is now, “Advising its citizens to leave Tokyo and its surroundings in case a cloud of radiation heads to the city.”
