St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner failed to charge any of the rioters with a crime within 24 hours of their arrests, leaving jail officials with no choice but to release them. Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt was aghast that all 36 arrestees were released, despite the high level of violence that included four police officers being shot, the murder of retired police captain David Dorn, people assaulting police with rocks and bottles, and rioters blocking the fire department. He promised his office would do everything in its power to prosecute those who have been arrested for committing violent attacks. He is worried that setting violent criminals free will embolden them.

The World Health Organization and a number of national governments have changed their Covid-19 policies and treatments on the basis of flawed data from a little-known US healthcare analytics company, also calling into question the integrity of key studies published in some of the world’s most prestigious medical journals.
A Guardian investigation can reveal the US-based company Surgisphere, whose handful of employees appear to include a science fiction writer and an adult-content model, has provided data for multiple studies on Covid-19 co-authored by its chief executive, but has so far failed to adequately explain its data or methodology.
Two of the world’s leading medical journals – the Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine – published studies based on Surgisphere data. The studies were co-authored by the firm’s chief executive, Sapan Desai. …

A search of publicly available material suggests several of Surgisphere’s employees have little or no data or scientific background. An employee listed as a science editor appears to be a science fiction author and fantasy artist whose professional profile suggests writing is her fulltime job. Another employee listed as a marketing executive is an adult model and events hostess, who also acts in videos for organisations.
The company’s LinkedIn page has fewer than 100 followers and last week listed just six employees. This was changed to three employees as of Wednesday.

Intubators are the last resort, but NYC hospitals are using them instead of HCL+zinc, IV vitamin C+zinc, etc., treatments that would keep most off the intubators. Patients are isolated from family and sign the waivers to be ventilated, where they then die. Nurses don’t even watch the patients, not even going in their rooms often, which is not protocol ordinarily. They’re being seen as heroes, when many are callous and not heroic at all.

Researchers from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland studied the high prevalence of Vitamin D deficiency in Northern Hemisphere countries and the possible role of vitamin D in suppressing the severe inflammatory responses seen in very ill COVID-19 patients and in COVID-19 deaths. …
Published as an editorial in the Journal of Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, the authors point out that it is becoming clear that countries in the Southern Hemisphere such as Australia are seeing relatively low mortality due to COVID-19, which can no longer feasibly be related to the later appearance and spread of the virus.
The study states that all countries that lie below a latitude of 35 degrees North have relatively low mortality from COVID-19, whereas people in countries that lie thirty-five degrees North and above receive insufficient sunlight for adequate vitamin D levels in winter and spring. These include Italy and Spain, which have low population levels of vitamin D.
Mortality rates from COVID-19 are higher at these latitudes, with the exception of Nordic countries, where vitamin D supplementation is widespread and deficiency much less common.
Vitamin D is important in regulation and suppression of the inflammatory cytokine response, which plays a role in the severe consequences of COVID-19 and ‘acute respiratory distress syndrome’ associated with ventilation and mortality in COVID-19.

Chloroquine (and HCQ, its derivative) is one of the most prescribed drugs in history. It has been for over 70 years and the incident rate of concerning reactions has been practically negligible according to the medical community.
From the American College of Cardiology: “Several hundred million courses of chloroquine have been used worldwide making it one of the most widely used drugs in history, without reports of arrhythmic death under Word Health Organization surveillance.”
