This podcast kfqd.com/podcast_info will probably only be available till today’s takes its place, probably late afternoon. Amazing show! Where is your line in the sand?

It really gets rocking about 18 minutes into hour 2 of the podcast — “I’m asking you to man up… what kind of man doesn’t stand up for the innocent murdering of kids… and have tax payers fund it” — and just keeps on rolling. Amazing!!!

This is a call to repentance.

“One day we’re going to stand before God and answer for our sins…,” says Fagan. I’m just shocked! I was so disappointed in Dan being so pro war, but he just bats this one right out of the park, and he’s probably going to continue to do so until the election.

Dan is totally putting his job on the line. He recently broadcast this WOW! Abortion survivor Gianna Jessen speaks before Aussie Parliament: “My whole intent in living here is just to make God smile”, which he said is the most important thing he’s ever done.

This is probably only the beginning in what could be a tremendous about face for Anchorage citizens!

I asked Senatorial candidate Joe Miller what he thought about preemptive war

Last night, I met senatorial candidate Joe Miller at Wellspring church.

I mainly wanted to see his stand on preemptive war. I decided not to ask the question publicly during the Q & A, because I thought if he did agree with me [he said in his talk that he was a member of the Friends church] many of the ‘Christians’ there would decide not to vote for him, because they want to bomb-bomb-bomb Iran whether Iran is really developing nukes or not, and many haven’t yet repented from supporting the immoral Bush Wars I & II.

Didn’t Jesus say: “Do unto others…” and “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God?” How did we get so far off? Didn’t we learn anything from Iraq? Why do we think we can trust our government’s Iran-with-WMDs analysis when now we find they actually fabricated the Iraq version: Newly declassified: Bush team wanted Iraq war from start and White House claims of Iraq pursuing a nuclear weapons program based on confiscated aluminum tubes were fabricated

I was the last person to talk with Joe with I think only his campaign manager listening. I asked him what he thought of preemptive war, mentioning that I heard him say that he was a Friends church [Quakers] member.

He said he should have explained that [which a reader finally explained to me in a comment which I verified]. He then gave a response that I imagine is pretty close to Rand Paul, who is more willing to bomb Iran than his father, Ron. Ron Paul believes in self-defense when it really is, but preemptive war is most often reverse-Christian:

Joe said something like we shouldn’t be nation building with wars, but on the other hand, if just one nuke hits us, that’s the end of our republic. So he’s for bombing Iran, but not to take them over for regime change.

I responded, “But we can’t trust the CIA’s intel.” Right then, the man whom I think is Joe’s campaign manager scurried him off to go to another meeting — so Joe couldn’t answer.

Overall, I was impressed with Joe Miller’s willingness to answer everyone’s questions, and then to answer them directly. He seems like a real, no-nonsense kind of guy, totally unlike Lisa Murkowski, whom I’ve always not voted for.

So I didn’t get a Joe Miller bumper sticker. I can’t 100%-support a candidate who isn’t more careful about preemptive war, but I do think he’s quite amazing, and I hope he wins. He is light years ahead of Lisa, who is so liberal people wonder how she can still be a Republican. She has actually said something like: “I don’t think people care how much we spend.”

Lisa is in many ways the opposite of the Christlike leader, Congressman Ron Paul, whom the evangelicals in Alaska (and elsewhere) mostly dissed in 2008. And it really does seem that Joe Miller is very much like Ron’s son, who could soon join Joe Miller in the U.S. Senate, which would be a great improvement.

I didn’t think that Lisa had a chance, having lost in the primary to Joe, but in this ‘me’ generation, it seems that a large percentage of Alaskans are more concerned with getting federal money than in doing the right thing for the future of this nation, which includes no longer aborting babies.

With the slogan “Let’s Make History,” Lisa Murkowski announced Friday that she’d pursue a write-in bid to keep her seat in the U.S. Senate after losing the Republican primary to Joe Miller.

The decision is a historic gamble for Murkowski, who was joined by hundreds of supporters waving red-and-blue “Lisa for Senate” signs and chanting “Run, Lisa, Run!” in the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage.

No one has run a successful write-in campaign for the U.S. Senate since Strom Thurmond in 1954. …

[Joe] Miller said on the Fox show, according to a transcript, that Murkowski is not a person of character, saying she went back on her word on the Friday before the primary election that she’d respect the will of primary voters. He also told Van Susteren that, after the primary, Murkowski left him a “nasty voice mail.”

Warm and effusive in public, indifferent or angry in private: this is the pattern of Palin’s behavior toward the people who make her life possible. A onetime gubernatorial aide to Palin says, “The people who have worked for her—they’re broken, used, stepped on, down in the dust.” On the 2008 campaign trail, one close aide recalls, it was practically impossible to persuade Palin to take a moment to thank the kitchen workers at fund-raising dinners. During the campaign, Palin lashed out at the slightest provocation, sometimes screaming at staff members and throwing objects. Witnessing such behavior, one aide asked Todd Palin if it was typical of his wife [Todd’s statement here is typical of one who enables the abuser in a dysfunctional family – ed.]. He answered, “You just got to let her go through it….” When a campaign aide gingerly asked Todd whether Sarah should consider taking psychiatric medication to control her moods, Todd responded that she “just needed to run and work out more.” Her anger kept boiling over, however, and eventually the fits of rage came every day. Then, just as suddenly, her temper would be gone. Palin would apologize and promise to be nicer. Within hours, she would be screaming again. …

The intensity of Palin’s temper…. One friend of the Palins’ remembers an argument between Sarah and Todd: “They took all the canned goods out of the pantry, then proceeded to throw them at each other. By the time they got done, the stainless-steel fridge looked like it had got shot up with a shotgun. Todd said, ‘I don’t know why I even waste my time trying to get nice things for you if you’re just going to ruin them.’ ” … She has a horrible temper, but she has gotten away with it because she is a pretty woman.” (The friend elaborated on this last point: “Once, while Sarah was preparing for a city-council meeting, she said, ‘I’m gonna put on one of my push-up bras so I can get what I want tonight.’ That’s how she rolls.”) … Others who have worked with Palin recall that, when she feels threatened, she does not hesitate to wield some version of a signature threat: “I have the power to ruin you.”

The small inner circle that shapes Palin’s voice day to day includes lobbyist Randy Scheunemann, a director of the neoconservative think tank Project for the New American Century [their relationship with 9/11 – ed.], who advises Palin on foreign affairs….

A campaign aide remembers that one of the Palin children found her mother’s public displays of piety especially grating. Though Palin prayed and read the Bible every night [a former staffer who shared a hotel room with Sarah told me that when Sarah went to bed, she opened her Bible and almost immediately closed it, apparently so she could say she read her Bible daily – ed.], aides never saw the family join her for devotionals. “You’re just putting on a show. You’re so fake,” one of the children said when Palin made a point of praying in front of other people. “This is not who you are. Why are you pretending to be something you’re not?”

This first day of the 2010 Alaska State Fair starts with sunny skies and a brutal assault by security personnel on a LaRouche supporter.

At about 5pm Alaska Time, Thursday, August 26, 2010, security personnel approach Sidney Hill, a lone man peacefully displaying an impeach Obama sign near Pioneer Plaza on the Alaska State Fairgrounds in Palmer. Minutes later, a crowd assembles, additional security forces arrive, and they physically assault the man holding the sign. He’s taken to the ground with force and detained.

An unidentified Alaska State Trooper arrives to physically disperse the crowd, and at several points during the conflict, crowd members yell in support of the demonstrator’s right to speak his message. The demonstrator’s personal firearm is confiscated by fair security, and he is held captive until Palmer police arrive to escort the man away in cuffs.

Sidney Hill is in jail awaiting a pre-trial at 1:00pm on August 27, 2010 at the Palmer Courthouse. He has been charged with Assault 4-Cause Fear Of Injury,
Disorderly Conduct-Challenge To Fight, and Criminal Trespass 2- Upon Premises.

Anchorage set to smash the longest rainy streak record — now at 30 days

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Across Southcentral Alaska, rain has been dampening the summer spirits of many residents. As of Monday Anchorage has had 30 consecutive rainy days, beating its previous record of 27 days set in 1951.

If the overcast weather holds up, Anchorage is going to smash that record. Meteorologists say we can expect rain through Tuesday and Wednesday, and possibly for several days after that.

It doesn’t need to be a downpour to count as a rainy day: all it takes is a trace of rain at the airport, or the National Weather Service.

So far this month, the NWS reports 1.8 inches of rain in Anchorage — about half an inch more than normal. Meteorologists blame a strong southwesterly flow pulling moisture off the Pacific Ocean.

People say they’re trying to keep the rain from bringing down their spirits.

This summer has so far been one of the coldest, gloomiest and wettest on record for Southcentral Alaska, the National Weather Service confirmed Thursday.

Should a drop of rain fall today — and forecasters say it likely will [we had many – ed.] — Anchorage will have tied the record for the most consecutive rainy days. …

According to weather service numbers, the period from June 1 through Aug. 11 this year had an average high temperature of 62 degrees, coming in as the 10th coldest on record. The normal high for the period is 64.3 degrees. …

But while Anchorage may not have set any records for the amount of rain, it is on track to be the cloudiest and gloomiest summer in recorded history. As of Thursday, the weather service documented 26 consecutive days with a trace or more of precipitation in Anchorage — one day shy of the record 27 days recorded in 1951.

And Baines said it was likely there would be at least a trace of rain over Thursday night, enough to tie the record.

The weather service has not tallied a fair, cloud-free day in Anchorage since April.

I’ve posted many articles on the detriments of dumping fertilizer manufacturing scrubbing liquid into our drinking water. Here is the latest: Fluoride Truth on Australian TV: Fluoride Retards the Brain!

A few years ago, I compared the number of articles on the fluoridation issue in Juneau, Alaska’s newspaper and Anchorage’s.

The McClatchy owned Anchorage Daily News (keeping Anchorage in the dark) hardly had any discussing the issue. I recall about 30 in total, but most of them weren’t discussing its legitimacy. During the same period, the Juneau Emperor Builder had about 500 articles on the pros and cons of water fluoridation, which actually pacifies the population and reduces IQ.

And Anchorage’s local talk radio is no better. It’s as if there is a ban on discussing this serious issue. We need our health and all of our mental faculties, you all!

Juneau, Alaska has now banned fluoride. Kodiak has banned it.

And here is a cool site on the fight regarding the fight to ban fluoride in Fairbanks: fluoridefreefairbanks.org. I don’t know if it has been decided at this time or not.

What’s up, Anchorage? Do you like being poisoned?

Homeowners attempt rescue of tangled cub

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — For homeowners like Dane Havard, who lives on the Anchorage Hillside, it’s not uncommon to see animals right in the backyard, but Monday, Havard was witness to an unusual rescue, and he caught it on video.

His neighbor helped free a baby black bear that was wrapped up in a dipnet.

“John, my neighbor, decided to try to pull the truck up, throw out a tow strap with a hook on the end, and try to grab the net without getting out of the truck obviously,” Havard said.

The plan was to drag the baby bear back into the yard and cut a hole in the net so the sow could get the cub out safely, but the mother black bear wasn’t interested in being helped.

“She was not going to let him get out of the truck and you can hear on the video he’s saying, ‘Come on, I wanna free her, I wanna free him,’ and she just wasn’t going to let him do it,” Havard said.

After a few minutes, the young black bear was finally freed after its mother ripped through the net.

The mother bear then quickly took hold of the cub, giving it a true bear hug.

“It’s almost as if she’s saying, ‘Wait until I get you home, I told you not to go up there,’ kind of like I do my own kids,” Havard said.

What you don’t see on the video, because of where the camera was shooting from was the sow charging at the man who tried to free the cub, but she did not attack him.

City officials are again urging the public to avoid the Rover’s Run trail in Far North Bicentennial Park because of a brown bear sow with three 2-year-old cubs that have been seen travelling it several times in the past week.

A surveillance photo of the trail shot last Wednesday — and posted on a municipal website, bears.muni.org — shows the four bears walking single-file down the winding trail. City officials say there is “a high probability of encountering a brown bear on this trail” and are urging people to “avoid using Rover’s Run under any circumstances.”

WARNING BEAR ALERT: July 21 2010 – Warning, a brown bear sow with three, two year old cubs has been repeatedly seen on Rover’s Run trail, there is a high probability of encountering a brown bear on this trail. It is recommended that all trail users seek alternate routes and to avoid using Rover’s Run trail. Trail Users are reminded that they use the trails at their own risk.

An amendment offered by Senator David Vitter (R-LA) to the Restoring American Financial Stability Act (S. 3217) has been defeated by a vote of 37-62.

It would “remove a section of U.S. code that protects the Federal Reserve from meaningful audits,” according to OpenCongress. …

For the record, for whatever this is worth.

The snow in our yard in Anchorage, Alaska usually totally melts around April 15th. This year, it looks like today will be the day it melts, April 28th (except where the neighbors had plowed a big pile into our yard, which I won’t count).

So the end of spring break-up for us is about 2 weeks late this year, compared to what used to be our norm.

Last year was even later: May 3rd.

What is Anchorage’s new statue sitting there thinking? “Why does Alaska still support Sarah Palin, the OPPOSITE OF RON PAUL on foreign interventionism?” — & — “Why did ‘Christians’ in this town vote for George W. Bush, the OPPOSITE OF JESUS on foreign interventionism, TWICE?”

Anchorage statue personifies the world’s watchman
‘HABITAT’: Artist sees work as a geometric view of man being sentinel to the world

Love it or loathe it, Antony Gormley’s “Habitat” puts Anchorage on the international arts map in an unprecedented way.

The giant metal sculpture — 24 feet tall, 13 feet wide and 17 feet from toe to tailbone — prominently situated on the grounds of the Anchorage Museum, cannot be idly encountered. The viewer is compelled to react the instant he or she encounters the stylized human sitting on his haunches, apparently waiting or contemplating.

We can expect this Percent for Art piece to draw serious out-of-state attention. Gormley, of England, is one of the world’s most famous living artists and “Habitat” is his first permanent artwork in America.

The squatting pose has led some wags to suggest that the man is answering the call of nature. But its crossed arms and straight-ahead stare seem more legitimately suggestive of a watchman patiently waiting for a signal or a hunter silently scoping for game. …

Whether one chooses to interpret “Habitat” as monitoring global warming, keeping an eye on big government or something else, it supplies a unique and conceptually new symbol with which Anchorage will be identified.

I asked a number of GCI subscribers, today, if they ever remember GCI dropping a channel. No one could think of any.

That doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened, but also, the timing is highly suspect, and it sure is strange to see only 1 gap between channels 1 and 51. There no longer is a channel 29, which was TruTV just a few days ago.

After part 1 did air, Jesse Ventura (host of “Conspiracy Theory”) lost a gentleman’s bet, because he didn’t think the series would actually be broadcast, because of what the episodes reveal. But I wonder if he had thought that cable companies would pull the plug on the entire channel! GCI’s official statement doesn’t make sense [underlining, my emphasis]:

Programming Update Unfortunately, GCI’s negotiations for a contract renewal with Tru TV have ended with a less satisfactory outcome.  Effective January 1, 2010, Tru TV will no longer be available on channel 29 (or channel 40 in Fort Greely.)   Similar programming is available on the following networks (channels):  E! (27), TNT (31), TLC (55), History (58), A&E (59), Oxygen (80), Bravo (83), Investigation Discovery (106), Biography (203), & History International (204.)

For example, only one of these ‘similar’ channels even aired one program that in part questioned the official 9/11 story. And then they mocked the 9/11 experts who were promised this wouldn’t be a hit-piece. Jesse’s series was the first since 9/11 to present this side of the issue fairly.

It costs TruTV almost nothing to send their signal to another community. It’s win-win for them. Why are they the only channel dropped by GCI — and before this important and totally rare series has been allowed to completely run, along with the many reruns?

Amazing coincidence or conspiracy?

In a remote region of Alaska, a special government research center is said to be testing the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program, which, some believe, allows radio waves to be developed as a potential weapon. A 5.4 magnitude earthquake shook Southcentral Alaska on Monday morning. While there were no reports of serious damage or injuries, nerves were rattled, dishes fell and drinks spilled.

The quake hit at 11:28 a.m. and was centered 24 miles northwest of Willow. Lasting several seconds, the temblor could be felt as far away as Homer and Fairbanks, a stretch of 400 miles.

The earthquake was “pretty deep,” said Cindi Preller, geologist with the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center. It originated 32 miles below the Earth’s surface.

“I almost had a customer run out the door,” said waitress Jolene Pate, who was waiting tables at a diner about 30 miles north of the epicenter. “The hanging lamp shades were swinging.”

A caller into the Alex Jones Show today provided details about a possible Department of Homeland Security drill at the end of this month in Seward, Alaska, the seventh most lucrative fisheries port in the United States.

The caller, identifying herself as “Barbara,” said she had an encounter with a man from the Transportation Security Administration, an agency within the Department of Homeland Security. The man had black and white photographs of buildings in Seward and made unusual comments about terrorism. He also seemed confident he would see Barbara again.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Mount Redoubt is getting under the skin of Alaska, and it’s not just the irritation caused by volcanic ash.

For residents of Alaska’s largest city, living near an active volcano means sometimes wearing air-filtration masks and stretching panty hose over the air intake of cars and trucks.

The volcano also brings daily uncertainty about whether it will blow and, if it does, where the ash will go.

“I would like it to have a big boom and get it over with,” said Brad Sandison, a retired truck driver and avid cyclist who carries a face mask and goggles whenever he rides just in case the volcano starts spewing ash.

The mountain 100 miles southwest of Anchorage tends to erupt every decade or so and belch ash for months. Geologists have recorded at least 19 eruptions since March 22, including one on Saturday.

So far, Mount Redoubt’s almost daily ash clouds have canceled hundreds of airline flights, reduced the number of shipments flowing through a huge FedEx cargo facility and cut shipments of fresh Alaskan seafood.
