‘Enemy of the people’: Almost half of Republicans say Trump should be allowed to close media outlets

President Trump’s attacks on the media, whom he dubbed “enemies of the people,” have struck a chord with supporters. A new poll found that 43 percent of Republicans want to give him the power to shut down certain news outlets.

Public trust in the press has diminished since the days of Woodward and Bernstein, falling by 30 percentage points since the late 1970s. While an overwhelming majority of Americans surveyed by Ipsos agreed that the concept of a free press is essential for democracy, many are unhappy with how the press behaves in reality.

Less than half of Americans surveyed believe that news outlets strive for honest reporting. Only 29 percent of Republicans believe in the honesty of the media, and 80 percent believe the press treats President Trump unfairly.

Their concerns are shared by Trump, who regularly bashes the “fake news” media for dishonest reporting. …

According to the Ipsos poll, one third of all Americans agree that the “news media is the enemy of the American people.” Among Republicans, this number rises to 48 percent.

While 68 percent of Democrats believe that the media is honest, and only 23 percent think that most outlets have a liberal bias, a Harvard study found that the media portrays Trump’s presidency in an overwhelmingly-negative light.

In covering Trump’s first 100 days in office, 80 percent of articles and reports from CNN, NBC, CBS, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and Fox News were negative. 93 percent of CNN’s reports were negative, while Fox went easiest on Trump, with a relatively even split of positive and negative coverage.

The Israeli Producer Who Made Movies About 9/11 – Before It Happened

While nearly everyone in the world was shocked by the events of 9/11, Arnon Milchan was certainly not. On 9/11, the Israeli secret agent who became a Hollywood film producer must have said (to himself and his closest friends) that the airplane bombings of the World Trade Center and the explosive demolitions of the Twin Towers that followed looked just like a scene out of one of his movies.
To say that Milchan is an Israeli secret agent misses the mark by a mile. He is much more than that and has been since 1965 when he began his close friendship and strategic partnership with Shimon Peres, the godfather of Israel’s nuclear arsenal. As the Israeli authors of Confidential, a biography on Milchan wrote, Arnon and Shimon “are the holders of some of Israel’s most significant secrets.” Among these secrets would be the Israeli role in the 9/11 attacks against the United States.

Arnon Milchan has been Israel’s secret “minister of finance” since 1965, when the godfathers of Israeli terrorism, Shimon Peres and Moshe Dayan, recruited him. Benjamin Netanyahu worked for Milchan in the mid-1980s when they smuggled 850 nuclear triggers from the U.S. to Israel.

In 1965, at age 21, Milchan was recruited to be “Minister of Finance” by Moshe Dayan and Shimon Peres, although this was not the usual ministerial position that one might think. As the authors of Confidential wrote: “What Milchan did not understand was that Dayan and Peres had in mind a completely different kind of “minister of finance,” unelected, secret, far outside the country – and in service indefinitely.”
“He fronted secret bank accounts for the State of Israel – accounts that would be used to finance his country’s most covert and sometimes deadly intelligence operation around the globe.”
When you understand Milchan’s role as Israel’s secret “minister of finance” for the two godfathers of Israeli terrorism, you will understand where Milchan’s funds come from – and why he makes the films that he does.
Prior to 9/11, Milchan was involved with the production of at least four films that featured scenes predictive of 9/11:

1978 – The Medusa Touch: The climactic scene is of a Boeing 747 passenger aircraft flying into the PanAm Building in New York.

1985 – Brazil: The futuristic film depicts a society in which terrorism is a daily occurrence in a state engaged in an never-ending war against the terrorists.

1999 – Fight Club: The final scene shows two people in an apartment watching the high-rise towers around them being blown up.

2000 – The Lone Gunmen: The pilot episode of this TV series made by Milchan’s business partner Rupert Murdoch, featured a Boeing passenger aircraft being remotely hijacked and flown into the World Trade Center. Aired on FOX TV in March 2001.

Wallace: You think the Jewish lobby in the United States is too powerful for the interests of Israel?

Shah: I think so. Sometimes they are disserving the interests of Israel.

Shah: Because they’re pushing around too many people.

Wallace: How do you mean “pushing around”?

Shah: Well, pressuring. They have many means at their disposal. They are putting on pressure on many, many people. And at the end, I don’t think that it will even help Israel.

Wallace: Why, if this is true, why would the President of the United States pay attention to that lobby?

Shah: They are strong.

Wallace: Strong in what sense?

Shah: They are controlling many things.

Wallace: Controlling what?

Shah: Newspapers … medias…

Wallace: Your Majesty …

Shah: Banks … finances and I’m going to stop there.

Wallace: Well, now, just a second. You really do believe that the Jewish community in the United States is that powerful? They make the media reflect their view of foreign policy?

Shah: Yes.

Wallace: They do not report, we do not report honestly?

Shah: Don’t mix things, please. I don’t say the media. I say, in the media they have people. Not the entire media. Some newspapers will only reflect their views, yes.

Wallace: Well, The New York Times for instance, is owned by the Sulzberger family, who are Jewish. Are you suggesting that The New York Times is biased in its treatment of the question of Zionism, Israel’s existence the United States’ relationship with the Arab world?

Shah: I will have to put all the articles of The New York Times written on this subject and draw the conclusion. You can put this through the computer and it will answer you.

Wallace: What you’re saying is, that yes, you do believe.

Shah: Well, let’s wait for the answer of the computer.

The Jews in Hollywood caved in [to the boycott]. They instituted the production code, and for 31 years there was no nudity in films, no obscenity, no promotion of homosexuality, no ridicule of the clergy….

The Jews sensed their moment of opportunity [in 1965], and they floated a Holocaust film, which had become their sacred cause in the meantime — a huge difference between 1933 and 1965. The Jews now had the upper hand because of the Holocaust. So they floated a Holocaust film called ‘The Pawnbroker,’ which starred Rod Steiger.

The whole point of this is to use the Holocaust as a front, as a way of smuggling in what they’re really interested in, which is bare breasts. So there’s a black prostitute who bares her breasts in the middle of this film. That breaks the code. … They broke whatever restraints were on them. …

The Pawnbroker … was initially rejected because of two scenes in which the actresses Linda Geiser and Thelma Oliver fully expose their breasts; and a sex scene between Oliver and Jaime Sánchez, which it described as “unacceptably sex suggestive and lustful.” (source)

… In 1964 The Pawnbroker, directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Rod Steiger, was initially rejected because of two scenes in which the actresses Linda Geiser and Thelma Oliver fully expose their breasts; and a sex scene between Oliver and Jaime Sánchez, which it described as “unacceptably sex suggestive and lustful.” Despite the rejection, the film’s producers arranged for Allied Artists to release the film without the Production Code seal and the New York censors licensed The Pawnbroker without the cuts demanded by Code administrators. The producers also appealed the rejection to the Motion Picture Association of America.[6]

On a 6-3 vote, the MPAA granted the film an “exception” conditional on “reduction in the length of the scenes which the Production Code Administration found unapprovable.” The exception to the code was granted as a “special and unique case,” and was described by The New York Times at the time as “an unprecedented move that will not, however, set a precedent.”[7] The requested reductions of nudity were minimal, and the outcome was viewed in the media as a victory for the film’s producers.[6] The Pawnbroker was the first film featuring bare breasts to receive Production Code approval. In his 2008 study of films during that era, Pictures at a Revolution, author Mark Harris wrote that the MPAA’s action was “the first of a series of injuries to the Production Code that would prove fatal within three years.” [7] …

Enforcement had become impossible, and the Production Code was abandoned entirely.

As a youth and young man, I was naive and idealistic. I assumed I lived in a benevolent and free society that was attempting to raise everyone to a higher level, materially and spiritually.  I looked to mass media and schooling for information, insight and guidance.
After watching “America in Primetime”, (2011) a four-part documentary history of TV, on Netflix, I realize that TV is not entertainment. It is social engineering. It made me dysfunctional and depressed. It has done this to millions of people.
